We have been working since Thursday to catch an injured Mama dog and her pup from a dangerous situation. Reached out for help from this group and was offered an email with a list of other rescues, even after I offered to cover the costs to help the dogs, just needed help with a safe foster/home situation. Sad that there Is no where for these poor animals to go even with a sponsor.

They do an outstanding job at finding loving foster and forever home care to these pets (dogs and cats). The facility is kept in pristinely clean conditions and you can tell animals are well cared for, fed well, and walked regularly. A lot of love all around!

We adopted our little guy Neo from HWB on February 14th, 2019. He is a very special part of our lives. Yes the volunteers on the adoption teams ask a lot of questions before adoption. This is to make the very best fit for your pet and you. Please, if you call give the team a good 24 hours to get back to you. They are working hard for all the HWB animals.

Donna & the staff have been a delight for my husband & I. We lost our 16 year old dog this past September & were feeling the loss. We have senior dogs & enjoy adopting older fur babies that need help in the twilight years. I saw Sammy’s post & my heart was touched. We adopted our dog from Homeward Bound and had a wonderful experience. Every volunteer there sincerely loves animals and wants the best for them. The animals often come from terrible situations before Homeward Bound rescues them. They work hard to give them a second chance with a family. I highly recommend this rescue group.

We adopted the sweetest most loving 5.5 doxie pin from this rescue. They really seem to care deeply about the animals and finding them the right match. We looked at a second dog as a companion there recently and mutually agreed probably not the best fit as our current rescue did not express any interest or connection. I really like the fact they aim to get it right and do what's right for the animals at the facility. Highly recommend.

Very discrimating place. They don’t even allow some people to view animals. They like to play games. They want to adopt animals out before giving all shots or fixing. Charging $50 extra for so called early adoption then once you get them fixed at one of their vets supposedly give you the $50 back. After the lies and games I would not trust them to keep their word. If someone works there and their significant other is interested in an animal they will be given top priority and get to visit any animal as many times as they wan while their so called volunteers to not allow others to view animals. Maybe if someone working there is interested in an animal then let them have them and don’t post on the site for others to view and get their hopes up. My daughter had a terrible experience but we are grateful that there are many other places out there that don’t require appointments or play stupid games! I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. I feel sorry for the animals. They waste all this time writing cutesy stories on Facebook but have 50 million questions before being allowed to visit animals. Maybe you could judge people in person rather than emails back and forth. Worst experience my daughter ever experience in trying to adopt a pet! Petsense in Jasper is amazing and other animals shelters with volunteers that try to get animals adopted more than appointments and games! Block people for speaking the truth on Facebook. Guess you can’t block this review. Poor animals.

Homeward Bound Pet Rescue is one of the most amazing places, FULL of some of the most amazing human beings who take care of phenomenal fur babies! I was driving down the road and saw a box with movement sitting off to the side of the road (hwy 515, speed limit 65mph+) so the curiosity in me forced me to turn around and go find out what was awaiting me inside this box. So, I got off the road onto the shoulder and opened up this box to find not only 3 small kittens but their momma, as well. The sweetest and most gentle little kittens and cat I've ever had the honor to meet. So, automatically I knew I had to help these babes. I also knew I'd be evicted from my home if I brought them there. So, I pulled out my phone and I contacted several places, drove to several places- all which were stale, had angry looks on their faces and heartless. Told me there was nothing they could do and no direction they could point me in for help. As a last ditch effort, I expanded my google search and I believe that God directed me to Homeward Bound. My mother and I safely rushed over there, with 3 babies & a momma in tow. We arrived there and were immediately met by 3 angels. These women were kind, selfless, gentle and wanted to help me. After being denied and refused help everywhere else I went, I explained what happened and although Homeward Bound Pet Rescue was at max capacity, they were able to find a foster home for them almost immediately. God is always on time, yall. Thank you to Homeward Bound Pet Rescue and thank you to the 3 angels (employees) who helped me there today! Highly recommended place full of love. Definitely a wonderful place and an amazing cause to donate any of your time or money to. I can't thank yall enough 😇

We were, unfortunately, unable to keep a puppy we rescued from another owner because to our senior pup. We turned to Homeward Bound Rescue to find him a new home. It broke my heart to leave him, but Donna reassured me that he would be well taken care of and all the volunteer staff I met were very kind and caring. He ended up being adopted a week later! I was so happy we found such a wonderful rescue close to home. I would highly recommend them and will definitely be visiting them when we are ready to rescue a dog in the future.

I volunteered with them for about a year a long time ago. They used to keep cats in a petsmart near me. They were so kind and really cared for the cats. Especially Jackie. They even gave me my amazing Miyazaki aka Snow Kitty as she was called there. I have had her 5 years and I love her so much. I use to donate but then money got tight however if you use Amazon then you should switch to Amazon Smile and a portion of your purchase goes to them!

Customer service is great! We were first time pet adopters! They made sure he was a right fit for us. They also, give you 90 days to make sure the dog is a good fit. They really look out for the dogs.

I took my dog to be fosters and they adopted him out within 3 days of him being there. Can’t get him back and no one was of any help. He was still in there care and they REFUSED to give him back under any circumstances. The lady I was on the phone with is very lucky we weren’t face to face. Also I think is not right that you have to be 21 to adopt from this place but can sign documents being under aged. If I had money for a lawyer I would totally sue. It’s just not right. They might be good at finding dog homes (obviously super fast) but that’s all they care about. Not the happiness of the dog. Completely disgusted about how they operate and would recommend anyone to pick any other rescue to adopt at. I also asked if I could get him back if his next owner doesn’t work out (I would pay any amount of money) and she told me to apply. YOU CANT REALLY APPLY LADY IF YOU ARE UNDER 21!!! Her response to that was: “there is nothing I can do”. I have never complained about any company in my life but this place RUINED me. All I want is my baby back.

We adopted an abandoned puppy from HB and they did an excellent job of socializing our grandson to the puppy, sharing all behaviors seen during fostering, checking in after adoption and being a great resource. We love our now 8 month old pup and hope to get her a playmate in the future.

This is a for profit organization they will get pets from actual dog pounds and shelters then turn around and sell them at a higher cost. By calling themselves a rescue they make you feel like your doing a good thing by “adopting a pet” This isn’t a shelter or rescue this is just a dog broker that’s why different dogs cost different amounts instead of like the 50 dollar flat rate which covers the vet inspection like most real animal rescues/shelters.
