I enjoy venues such as this auction in Barnesville and have at least the last 50 of my 75 years. The Buggytown Auction is very enjoyable ... except for or one thing. (This is at the merchandise sale.) I've never been to the livestock auction. In all my experience an 'auction" is, by definition, an event where "sellers" have items they desire to sell off. Those items are placed before "bidders" and the "bidders" initiate a series of bids where various people attending the auction engage in competitive "bidding" in an effort to win the auction and take possession of the item being offered. After a period of time the highest offer from the "bidders" wins the "auction" The item offered then goes to the highest "bidder". I understand that in many, if not most all "auctions" there will be in a "reserve" amount in the mind of the "seller", which is the least that "seller" can accept in the auction. This "reserve" amount is normally withheld from the bidders until it becomes apparent that the "highest bid" offered is not sufficient to at least cover the "sellers" cost and some profit. If the "highest bid" does not cover the "reserve" that item is returned to the "sellers" inventory and the reserve amount is announced. Here I see items offered at a set price. Take it or leave it. That's not an auction ... that's a flea market. But I really like the Buggytown Auction.

Great place to buy all kinds of chickens, rabbits, goats, calves. Misc. Auction also, farm equipment, car parts, household items, wood, food, antiques, just anything you can imagine comes thru here. Wonderful place to spend a Friday night., and once a month on Sat.

When we lived up that way we used to be at this auction every Friday. Some days you can get great deals on different livestock.

Would have gave a 5 but speakers need to be updated. I couldn't understand the animal description. Still bought chickens and very happy with them

Bad experience with this auction house. We lost several chicks and chickens in the heat while waiting to be checked in. I can understand a 30 minute wait, but two and a half hours? That's ridiculous! The people in front of us and behind us also lost chickens due to waiting in line so long. They really need to fix things before I bring animals back over here.

There are not enough seats now that they turned things sideways. I might would take things to drop off for sale, but I don't think I would wait around. We left just a they started selling the chicks. I think we'll start going down to one of the other auctions and see how they compare.

Very friendly staff but they definitely need more help waited over 4 hours in line to check the animals in and that's just chickens still got to sit in another line to check goats in RIDICULOUS

Always a great night at the auction! You never know what your gonna find, anything and everything from antiques in the misc. , fowl, hatching eggs, to small livestock. The staff is always very friendly and helpful and the auctioneers put on a good show themselves. They have a "snack" bar thats more like a dinner bar...so dont eat before you come. Food prices are reasonable-less than a restaurant but more than a "snack" bar and foods good, cooked fresh on site. It's a great night for the family, but there is no playground for kids and small children should be accompanied by an adult at all times.

My husband has been coming to buggy town action for over fifteen years and he has brought goats chickens and many different animals all over the years I have been coming with him off and on over the years I have gotten where I am not able to come as much as I would like to as my health has gotten much worse than it was I love and miss coming over to see everyone he is coming tomorrow and if the God lord is willing I will be with him and I will be see what God has blessed everyone with through the winter. The owner and staff are very nice. They treat you like you've known each other for years. You can find great stuff and good deals at the miscellaneous auction and the animals that come through the animal sale are healthy and go for reasonable prices.
