Japhet, Eli, Brandon, and Eleazar completed the on-site construction of our large Chicken Lodge, today. They were very well organized, and arrived with the exact materials and tools the project required. They also showed up with the skills required to do the job quickly and correctly. They were courteous and asked good questions to understand where we wanted doors, windows and nesting boxes. They assured that any custom aspects of the project were done to meet our needs. They were meticulous about grinding away all the sharp edges from tin roof cuts and staples, nails, or screws that penetrated the reverse side of wood surfaces. They used only pressure-treated lumber. They used durable, pest-proof hardware cloth on the underside of nesting boxes and on the exterior window exposures. They used tamper-proof latches for doors and nesting boxes.They installed two ramps -- one for our guineas to enter and exit by their small door, and another for us to enter by a people-sized-door to replenish food and water, and to clean and replace straw. They installed two interior roosting rods at our request.Japhet and Eli were great to work with. The whole team demonstrates pride of workmanship. We were pleased with the outcome. We believe this lodge will keep our guineas safe from predators and comfortable through the four seasons in the years to come. We intend to prime and paint the exterior wood surfaces soon to protect it for years to come.They cleaned up the construction site at the end of the job.Thanks Georgina and Japhet for a job well-done.
