Don't order anything from this company! They will send you wrong items and then treat you like you trash on top of it... I made a fish order and was sent the wrong fish. Sent multiple pictures and info to verify I received the wrong order. Just to be told I had to pay to order again. Not to mention the fish they sent all had Ich...Requested to have manager contact me just to be ignored. Save yourself time and trouble and don't deal with this company!

If I could give them -10 stars I would. Every single guinea pig we receive has lumps and bumps or severe cases of ringworm that show up. They are clearly inbred and Sun pet cares little for the animals that they breed. This business should be shut down, and I’m surprised it hasn’t already been shut down. They are horrible atrocious. The trucks don’t even have air conditioner, sometimes even in the hottest times of summer. A lot of these small animals can succumb a heat stroke very quickly because of their inability to sweat. It makes me sick to my stomach. It’s abhorrent.

The pet store I work for purchased their animals from this “establishment”. We have had hamsters show up with wet tail, we have had them show up way too young to even be shipped, we have had one hamster show up with BABIES. How do you not know your hamster is pregnant?!?! We have had fish arrive dead and sick, just overall very unreliable. And the guy who brings the animals in always takes his sweet time talking on his phone in the parking lot before even considering bringing the animals in the store. Pretty repulsive treatment from sunpet, and don’t even get me started on trying to contact them. One time we tried to get a chinchilla, and they sent a damn guinea pig, and then STILL had us pay for a new chinchilla. Idk how any company still works with these people.

If I were to say that I am distraught and apalled by the treatment of animals at Sun Pet, it would be a severe mischaracterization and understatement of what I truly feel. What goes on in this facility is abhorrent and outrite torture. I hope every single federal, state, and local regulatory agency visits this place and can gather enough evidence to close it down for good. It's disgusting.

I work for a pet store that uses sunpet as a supplier. I've already heard the horror stories of what it looks like inside of sunpet, but I haven't seen it for myself so thats not what this review will be about. Instead I'm going to talk about the animals when they get into our stores. There have been occasions where they have sent out ferrets sick with ECE to our store, for 2 or 3 months now we have no longer been ordering teddy bear or fancy bear hamsters because they just kept getting wettail no matter what we did or how we tried to heal them, and I just couldn't handle holding any more animals while they die in my arms. There are multiple types of fish we will no longer order because they came in, and on so. Many. Different occasions have gotten sick and then proceeded to get the rest of the fish in the tanks sick (gold dojo loaches, certain kinds of gouramis, etc) its absolutely ridiculous. We even got sent a few years ago, a rabbit with a degenerative nerve disease and one of our own workers took her home so she could pass away in a more comfortable way.

Our fresh water fish arrive healthy, disease free and always in clean water and well fed.Very happy with this company. Lots of negative reviews are PETA members or extremist and if we cave to them like Walmart did then eventually the aquarist hobby and any eventually any pet keeping will be illegal or frowned upon which is sad.Many animals like monkeys, giant monitor lizard, scorpions some species of tarantula have been regulated by states or fed which I can see the angle but to regulate with so much red tape the peaceful hobby of aquatics which helps so many kids, adults, folks with disabilities and our own police and military vets with PTSD is downright wrong!Please support your local fish stores and even petco and pet smart or your will be ordering all your supplies online “jungle site and evil bay “ site which has way less regulations and way less regard for animal wellbeing especially some private eBay breeding sellers who ship fish in all temperatures across the country.Folks support your hobby, interest and or a friends or family members hobby. Or one day even breeding pure breed dogs and cats will be illegal or red taped beyond galore. Statistics show if even a common breed like GERMAN SHEPHERDS stopped pure bred breeding within 10-12 years the breed would be extinct!They want you to go to dog pounds and pay fortune for animals that other neglected or failed to provide care which is sad!!! Attack this folks! The root to the problem is not the breeder or seller but ensure the folks buying specialty dogs or cats have their procedures like sterilization and vaccinations in order or else fine them like they do if we ever miss a credit card payment or fail to pay our property taxes in time.SUPPORT YOUR HOBBY!Godspeed

Sun Pet supplies fish to almost every pet store in our region. They arrive sick, and it is not just a few, it is so many that you can't quarantine effectively. The Oscars always have wasting disease (General Cure helps w/this, which is just confirmation of parasites), many shipments arrive with ich, and it hits every pet store in town - so it is not a matter of one store providing better/worse care than another. I won't ever buy fish from a place supplied by Sun Pet.

They just lost their contract with the largest pet store chain in the US. Absolute despicable care for the animals they sell. Hamster ears chewed off, overlapped bird wings, every batch has Syrians with wet tail. Horrible.

Horrible breeders. The past 3 medium birds my store has gotten from them, their wings were overclipped. This most recent sun conure's wings were clipped so far that he was bleeding on his trip over and had blood all over his cage and himself, and is so fearful of people because he's in pain. Screw this company, they need to do better.

this is terrible and saddening seeing the way they treat these animals. i recently bought a ferret from a local pet store and he is sick. after doing research i found that they buy their pets from sunpet and after seeing photos and reviews of how they “take care” of these animals are disgusting. they should definitely shut this place down. i am an animal lover and it hurts seeing them like this. who in their right mind would ever think crowding animals, putting them in small cages, letting them get injuries and sickness getting left untreated would be a good idea. this is terrible and i hate it.

They do not keep proper paperwork for the animals they sell. When not only I but the store manager from the pet store reached out to them on NUMEROUS occasions, we were ignored and given vague answers about receiving duplicate paperwork on a parrot that was sold by them less than 6 months prior.On top of the sick animals they send out and the several investigations they’ve received due to improper animal care - they also don’t keep proper records of their pets. I also believe my bird is at least 2 months older than they stated when she was sold to the pet store due to her molting patterns and size.Avoid purchasing live pets that come from this facility. This includes any and all pets from your local Petco and Petsmart.Demand to know your pets breeder during purchase and do your research.

I currently work at one of the chain pet stores that pays this so called “company” to basically send us sick animals. No not ALL come in sick but, we never go a shipment without receiving hamsters with wet tail, guinea pigs with ringworm or URI’s. Majority of the animals are sent way too young as well! It sickens me that nobody has done anything to close this place down. I hate the fact that my company still pays these people just to spend more money on Vet appointments. I love all of the animals that come in to my store and try my best to rehabilitate them back to perfect health before going to there new homes.

Several fish stores in my area purchase saltwater fish from this company, and the fish are always in great shape. I even special order by looking at the Sun Pet website and then calling one of the four stores to order a specific fish for me that is in stock at Sun Pet. All of my saltwater fish live that I have purchased from Sun Pet, and I am thankful for their service to the saltwater community. I have two 125 gallon systems and one 150 gallon. My tanks all have tangs and dwarf angels. I hope to get a Fuji Blue Velvet Angelfish. Thank you.

If I could rate this place less than one star, I would. I bought my 3 daughters a young hamster from Pet Supermarket and it died within 3 days. According to the store clerk, Pet Supermarket buys their animals from Sun Pet. A five minute review on Google proves Sun Pets is not a safe, reputable company.When I approached the store manager at Pet Supermarket with the unanimous reviews, he didn’t bat an eye. He stared at me for a moment and then said “OK.”In addition, I explained their hamster cages did not even come close of meeting the recommendation for the minimum amount of floor space. But the manager was unflappable. It is clear that Pet Supermarket does not care about animals. I will never buy anything from Pet Supermarket and/or Sun Pet again.

I currently work at a pet store where this is our supplier. Whenever we receive our weekly intake of various small animals their is at least two that are ill with ringworm, suffering bite wounds, and other underlying issues. My coworkers and I care so much about these animals and immediately get the veterinary care they need. However, it disgusts me that our company continues to support a facility that does not care about the welfare of these animals or knows how to handle them properly. The only reason I am still employed there is because I know I can’t stop them but at least I can do my best to help rehabilitate the animals that faced these horrible conditions at sun pet.

After my pet mouse died prematurely (URI, the vet and I did everything we possibly could and then some), I did some research and found out that Sun Pet Ltd is my local pet store's supplier ... no wonder my vet did not seem surprised when I told her what store I get my pet mouse from.If you care about animals, or even just care about your potential pet not dying an early death, look elsewhere. This is not a business, this is just some animal abuses out to make a buck.

never ever buy from them or petsmart/petco ! they supply to these places and every time we get animals in, they end up sick, unhealthy or trampled by their littermates. as for lizards, they end up looking healthy AT FIRST - but they start showing signs of illness at least a month or two after we get them (ESPECIALLY BEARDED DRAGONS).

Work at a petstore this place buys from. Constant wet tail and ringworm. Sent us 4 rats and one was dead and the others were eating the corpse. Birds mysteriously dying. We stopped buying reptiles from them and switched vendors and now our beardies aren't constantly quarantined for being sick.

Absolutely disgusted. Boyfriend and I recently got a green cheek conure from PetCo, sun pet is their supplier, and two days after we brought her home she unfortunately passed away. No explanation for what could’ve happened to her when we brought her back, all I could find from my own personal research is she most likely had kidney failure and internal bleeding (often caused by malnutrition). She was already ill when we purchased her and no one even cared to tell us. Absolutely mortified at the condition these animals arrive in from this breeder. Shut this place down.

As many have said, I wish I could leave no stars.I work at a big box pet store that sources their animals from sunpet, and I can personally tell you that we rarely get in animals that are healthy enough, or well enough to sell. Most of our shipments get received then immediately are sent to the best exotics vet we have in the area for care. My coworkers and I, from management to the newest part time, all care for these animals deeply, and are disgusted by the fact that even after our multiple reports to the store's corporate lines we are forced to continue to support this disgusting facility.Many people have even fallen victim to many of the zoonotic diseases these animals are sent to us with. Ringworm is by far the worst, and many of us are still treating cases from when we were new and didn't know what to expect.Shame on you sunpet, as a company that claims to love animals and care for them, you are purely disgusting. There is a special place in hell for people like all of you.

I work at a chain pet store that gets their animals from this company and they’re always sick, they’re too young, they’re so unreasonably timid and they ALWAYS get sick. I understand that some things aren’t always something you can prevent but maybe selling animals at a proper age would ensure that they’re healthy and they’ll stay healthy. Also I’ve asked every current and past employee I’ve met that’s worked for this company what happens to the animals that get sent back and none of them will tell me. I HATE this vendor.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. SunPet Ltd has been a supplier of many of the pet stores I have been employed at. Currently, at petsmart, we receive bulk animals in weekly. I have had a very hard time working at these establishments, despite having a great love for the animals because of the conditions I receive them in frequently. Many times, we will receive in hamsters with wet tail, recently a rat that has been oozing yellow liquid from its bottom, stressed reptiles packaged with hamster bedding with fuzz in their eyes. Reptiles with MBD (muscle bone deficiency), and bearded dragons that more often die than live. I am SICK of the treatment these animals have been receiving. More needs to be done and investigated at SunPet.

I have seen a 100% change for the better from Sunpet. I'm a small business owner selling fish and beyond happy with my fish order. All healthy and good sized fish. Not to mention they offered fish to me that are so hard to find. Thank you Mr. Seacrest 😉

They have excellent customer service. Despite all the negative reviews, you take the good with the bad. As a Sun Pet customer I have more often than not, been satisfied with the animals and fish I have received. There are of course unfortunate practices in the pet-trade industry, but again you take the good with the bad.
