I’ve never felt more compelled to write a review. My wife and I have been to Hero several times in the past and have always loved the food.Today, we were happy to see there was no line. Despite being able to order right away, we waited 25 minutes for our small takeout order. When we got home to eat, my wife realized that they no longer use brioche buns for their egg/cheese sandwich. The fast food style sesame bun was a huge downgrade and also didn’t seem fitting for breakfast. When I opened up my order of super minis, one of the sliders had a sad piece of breading with absolutely zero chicken inside. The other piece of chicken was maybe the size of two peas. The rolls were inedible. Even my dog thought twice before eating them.Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed. I hope they fix whatever is going on because they used to be delicious!

The donuts are good and so is their regular food. I got the loaded hash browns. They have indoor seating and a cute outdoor seating area too. Will definitely be back!

We came here for breakfast and it was absolutely delicious! We got the beignets, loaded hashbrowns, doughnuts, breakfast plate, and 2 lattes. The beignets were so fluffy and melt in your mouth! The hashbrowns were delicious and filling and the lattes were just the right amount of sweet! The gentleman that took our order was very sweet and nice and was very happy! They had inside and outside seating and was big and spacious with big windows so it was bright inside. Definitely will be back again!

We worked near Hero this past week, went there for lunch on Tuesday, then ended up going for breakfast and lunch Wednesday, then lunch again on Friday. This place rules. The service was great, food came out in good time, and had great outdoor seating. This was also during lunchtime (12-1) so that makes it all the more impressive they were able to deliver the food in good time. The Sidekicks and Cookies & Cream shake hit the sweet spot. Also had the Double Classic Burger which was messy but very good. A buddy of mine got the Buffalo Fried Chicken sandwich twice, so I'll be trying that next time I go in. Definitely recommend checking out Hero.Parking: Regarding parking, we used the open lot across the street from the location. Not sure if that lot is open all the time, but it worked for us every time we went. I think there's parking in the back of the building as well, though that may be for the neighboring apartment buildings.

I love Hero Doughnuts! The doughnuts are so flaky and sweet, and they always taste fresh. The normal food is always great too. I highly recommend the ranch fries.

We had their donuts and they were great! I would say the texture of the donuts is slightly more "bread" but the light and airy kind. I love that the Boston creme (my favorite) didn't have that super sweet pre-made frosting that most places use but had a really creamy and smooth, not too sweet, filling. The banana pudding donut was also amazing. Blueberry and jam filled were very tangy. If I had an issue, it would be that I wished they were just a little more fresh (we came around 11 am).

Such a cute spot! Like who doesn't love doughnuts, breakfast, sandwiches and burgers...not me! They have a little bit of everything I love on their menu. Personally, I judge a doughnut spot by how good their glazed doughnuts are and their glazed is delicious!! I also had a Hero Burger which was yummy, smaller than I thought, but good! Oh, and the fries were good too. I love a good crinkle cut!! I'll be back!!

This is by far my favorite lunch spot in Atlanta!!! Every single time I have stopped in for lunch, the staff is always super friendly and pleasant. The super crunch sammich is scrumptious and every doughnut I've had here has been decadent and delicious! This is a definite go to for a quick bite that will leave you full and doing a happy lil food dance ☺️Parking: Plenty of parking space is available across Georgia Ave in the Summerhill A Lot.

This is definitely a good spot to grab some donuts after you grab some hot dogs from the spot next door. I enjoyed my loaded cereal donut. It was soft & tasty just the way I like it. I will be back for sure. We also looked at some of the food on the menu and we'll definitely be back for lunch. We saw a good looking chicken sandwich.I even like their salads.

Had the peanut butter crisp doughnut which was good. It was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The burger with the bacon jam was really good. I would say reduce the portion of the bacon jam a tad.The chicken sandwich was great. The chicken was juice and crunchy and the sauces complimented the ratio of the chicken. The buns for both burger and sandwich were a delight as well. The lemonade is way too sweet though!

Location: 7/10 pretty convenient, they also have a small amount of parking behind the building.Customer service: 5/10 average, friendly. Nothing above or beyond.Glazed donut: 8/10 would’ve been higher but they don’t seem to rotate fresh ones. At 1p on a Sunday we got the last 2 in the case. They were a little stale from sitting uncovered. Fresh out would be a 10Grilled cheese: 0/10 nasty take it off the menu. A burger bun flipped (sesame seeds inside) unmelted kraft singlesBurger: 8/10 a bit greasy on the finish but solid meat quality and condiments.Cold brew: 7/10Lemonade: 10/10 fresh squeezed not too sweet

This place was great! I only gave it 4 stars because the flavor difference between doughnuts was very minimal. They all tasted very similar even though they are very different flavors. I would have loved to experience more differences in the flavors. Overall I would be back. The vibe was awesome. Doughnuts were great. There was seating outside next to a hotdog place that provided great covering. They Hero Doughnuts patio has less covering but is surrounded by pretty flowers. The atmosphere is bright and inviting. They also offer more food options that I want to try next time!

Stopped in the other day with friends who were visiting from out of town. We got an assorted dozen to take home for breakfast. I was really impressed. Staff was knowledgeable and helpful. Place was bright and clean. Normally I prefer cake donuts but I fell in love with their yeast recipe as it doesn’t have that oily aftertaste many yeast donuts get. The jelly was the absolute best I have ever had. The homemade raspberry jelly was delicious! I will definitely be going back soon.

For a low key, inexpensive breakfast in a town filled with 'brunch specials', this is your spot! Say you don't need all the bell's and whistles, the bottomless mimosas and such, H.D.B. serves up delicious delectable doughnuts and old fashioned American themed breakfast. While you won't find a southern staple like grits, you will fall into flavors you may not have experienced before in their Glazed Blueberry icing, or Boston-Creme, crammed with their signature custard. But, like most Sunday mornings, the crowds do come. My stop there was just right. I got in on a rare lull, but quickly, another wave of folks came through. Despite the flow of customers, the service was very accommodating. Whether the cashier, or a server, the staff seemed to be aware of customer's needs and responded accordingly. (Clearing a table without being asked, or coming from behind the counter ro take a plate a customer had been carrying when finished with their meal.) Even apologizing, for a wait, that was obvious and expected on a day like that.I liked the little touch of putting the doughnuts in pouches, like White Castle does. I had the breakfast, but I noticed the burgers and more lunch time meals on the menu. I imagine were just as tasty. The prices were reasonable. Although, the coffee may have been a little on the high end for the type of place it is. (I would expect to pay 4.50 for coffee, or some such at S.b. but not here) Otherwise, it was alright. The patio, and the shade that was offered with the umbrellas and coverings were much appreciated and many people seemed to enjoynsitting outside on a pleasant morning. It's gonna be one of my spots to return to! Make it yours.

BEST donut place in town!! We found this place thanks to google and I am so glad we went. The donuts are very flavorful and oh so good! I got the pistachio and banana creme. You must try both! They have a great variety and decently priced as well. The staff are super friendly too. You have got to try this place at least once! If we lived in Atlanta, I would go everyday. 🙂

Ok Bonnie Tyler, I was holding out for a hero and I found him!!We were looking for a breakfast spot on a Sunday that wasn’t overhyped on TikTok with an 180 minute wait and stumbled upon this place. They have donuts, eggs, bacon, breakfast sandwiches, all the breakfast options you can imagine in a fast casual dining atmosphere. The seating was plenty (go before 11:30) and I ordered the breakfast plate which comes with eggs, toast, meat and hash browns. The breakfast plate did what it needed to do. The eggs, fluffy. Bacon, thic. Toast, light. Hash browns, girl. Amazing. Also pictured is the spicy crunch sandwich which we both rated a 8.5 out of 10. Good bread, spicy but not too spicy. Also also not pictured is the Oreo donut that made me say multiple profanities. It was light and fluffy with the perfect amount of Oreo without being too sweet. The perfect way to end a great breakfast.Go here.

Cute doughnuts but too sweet for me. Burger was tasty till the middle was pinkish raw. I wasn’t ask what temperature I want my burger so I assumed it would be well done. Free parking. Nice patio. Cheese fries was delicious

Food, atmosphere, and service was incredible! I ordered the Top It with chicken sausage (the secret sauce on this thing was the best!), the Hero Breakfast Plate (hubby loved the hashbrowns!) and the Sugar & Spice donut (baked beautifully, hit the spot) with coffee. Really enjoyed the outdoor patio on a Sunday morning and will be returning again.

I had the Donut Crunch. I believe it's called. It was a glazed donut with fried chicken in the middle with pickles and The Cracked sauce. I have no complaints. We also ordered the Super crunch sandwich with fries and the kids cheeseburger with fries. Got a half a dozen of Donuts. The Donuts are very tasty and not too sweet. Going back next week for the new flavors.

Good burger but I can think of a few restaurants that are better. Fries were fine. Wasnt a fan of the hash browns. They were blocks of potatoes about an inch square that were fried with little or no seasoning. Donuts looked very good. Unfortunately, although they had maybe 20 they were out when we finished lunch. If I’m in the area again I’ll stop by.Parking: Across the street

Softest buns in the world. The burgers are so good. The fries are seasoned and tasty. Definitely 5 stars. The donuts are also good as ever.

Solid breakfast. Worth checking out. I got the overnight oats bowl and everyone else got the hero breakfast. The oats were served in a plastic cup which I thought was a bit wasteful as we dined in and I was told it would come in a bowl. The oats were tasty and had just the right amount of cinnamon and fresh fruit. I was a bit shocked to see my son’s fried chicken portion with his hero breakfast. It was a tiny piece of chicken. It was more like a nugget. The highlight for me overall was the hash browns which I didn’t even order. I just stole a couple from my kids and husband haha. I love the blocks of crispy potato. I’ve never had hashbrowns like that. I’d go back for the hashbrowns alone. Delicious.

This review is for donuts only. We went at 11:15 on a Sunday. They still had all of their donuts available. They also had the Bread Pudding donut, even though the menu says they only have it on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We got a half dozen donuts. Here’s what we got, in order of my preference:- Cookies and Cream ($2.59): the icing on top made it good- Pistachio ($2.59): good, but it just tasted like regular icing with pistachios on top- Maple Sea Salt ($2.59): very sweet/salty- OG - Vanilla ($1.89): just okay- Blueberry Crumble ($2.59): didn’t have much flavor at all- Bread Pudding ($3.59): will never get this again and do not recommend; they are not lying when they say it’s bread pudding; it was shaped like a donut with the texture of bread pudding; it just seemed like it was leftover donuts all mashed together from the days beforeWe got coffee. They don’t do iced coffee. If you want iced coffee, they only do cold brew. The coffee was average.Overall, we weren’t that impressed. It was very expensive for basic donuts with different toppings. If we were to go back, it wouldn’t be for their donuts. We would try their lunch or breakfast buns, but we’ll get our donuts elsewhere.

I was in the downtown area and needed a spot to check out for breakfast. Due to a stopped train in a train track that diverted me from my first choice, I ended up at hero.History: based on my quick research I determined that this spot originated in Alabama in 2017. It started out as a pop up shop. They pride themselves on using brioche style, yeast for the doughnuts and bread. Today, they have 6 brick and mortar locations serving breakfast plates, burgers, salads, and of course doughnuts! You can also order coffee drinks and crunchy cocktails.Parking: honestly, I don’t know if I parked in the right spot, however, there is a lot at the rear of the restaurant . The spots are limited, but luckily we scored one! I did not see any place to pay, so I assume it’s free parking. The inside of this spot is small! There are tables, but not a ton. They also have a cute patio and it would be perfect in warm days! You order your food and pay at the register. If you are dinning in you will be given a number so they can bring your order to your table. The staff taking our order was nice. She helped me decide on a doughnut to try. I ordered the folded egg and cheese bun. It is only $5. However, she asked me what meat I wanted and I said chicken sausage. To add the meat is an additional $3.00. I also ordered a cup of coffee and a bread pudding doughnut. My mom ordered the Hero breakfast plate with chicken sausage. The total came up to like $27 prior to me adding a tip.The food was brought to our table in about 10 minutes. My mother immediately noticed that they failed to give her the chicken salad with her plate. They also did not provide me with my coffee cup or my doughnut. When I received my cup I went to pour coffee in my cup from the drink station. They had options for both pat and almond milk. Both containers were empty. Remind you it was only about 9am in a Saturday. Maybe they just forgot to refill after the early morning rush? The food was good. Nothing that I will be driving from my side of town to get. However, if I am in the area I would not be opposed to stopping for a bite to eat in the future.A few things to note- the hash browns are more like very think diced potatoes and NOT your tradition shredded potato hash browns. The doughnut I tried had an interesting consistency and taste. I think I need to try a different flavor to provide a true rating for the doughnuts.Overall I would recommend checking this spot out if in the area!

Hero Doughnuts just opened up 3 days ago in the Summerhill neighborhood, and it was delicious! We tried out 4 donuts, a breakfast sandwich, and a double stack burger. Everything was tasty! I’d like to come back and try other things on the menu too. Seems like they serve breakfast all day. Lots on the menu.

I’ve had Hero donuts a few times at both the Homewood, Alabama location and the Summerhill (Atl, Ga) location. I’ve always been impressed with the creativeness of the flavors and the freshness of the donuts. However, on a recent trip we got a variety of flavors and every donut, except for the Original, tasted like a “days old donuts with icing placed on top in an attempt to try and hide it”. Very disappointing to say the least especially since I brought friends there to try it out for the first time, hyping it up, just for us to have stale donuts.
