Whoever calvin is, the man who groomed my dog, did a really terrible job. I don’t even leave reviews, but my dog looks so ridiculous that I have to. The first picture what I showed them, which he basically already looked like that when I brought him in, he just needed a TRIM! The other picture is how he came out looking. He has so many patches and uneven hairs I don’t even know how they were okay sending him back to me like this. Not to mention, my dog was sitting there for seven hours in a crate, because they forgot to call me to pick him up. And then, when I asked them why no one called me they lied and said that somebody called me twice and that their supervisor left me a voicemail. That was a lie. I have been getting phone calls and voicemails from people all day with no problem. Calvin did call me back to try to fix the issue and I was going to let him but I have decided to decline because I honestly don’t want him to touch my dog again so I’ll be taking him somewhere to have him evened out so it can grown back all over again smh.

We’ve used Barking Hound Village Lofts for more than 10 years and have always had a great experience. Love the webcams and report cards with photos, and our dog always comes home happy and tired from playing. We had an emergency experience once, and the owner was empathetic, helpful and supportive while we were out of town on vacation.

5 stars all the way. The girls & guys at North Avenue have always taken the best care of our Ruby (Labrador) over the past 2 years. Hands down would recommend to friends & family. Never worries with these folks!

We take our dog here for daycare multiple times a week and we board her here when we're out of town as well. I can't recommend BHV enough! Our dog LOVES being here, and the staff takes great care of her - I HIGHLY recommend if you're looking for an opportunity to socialize your dog and/or board them in a safe location where they can also have fun.

The staff is wonderful. Seemingly attentive. The dogs always seem to enjoy themselves but the smell is absolutely atrocious. The smell in the lobby. The smell of the dogs when they get home. For boarding we have to trash their beds. It’s beyond doggy or kennel smells it’s an unhealthy amount of ammonia.

I have been a customer of the North Ave Barking Hound Village Lofts for over 7 years now and I honestly feel blessed they came into my life for me and my pets. The staff is great and efficient and their communication is amazing. They great my dog Odie like he is family every time we walk into the lobby. I trust them completely to take care of Odie when I am away.

Our dogs have so much fun at BHV Lofts and we love seeing their report cards and all the fun they are having. The staff is amazing and really caters to each and every dog making sure they are safe and comfortable. Fantastic place!!!

The worst. Took my German Shepherd there for grooming. Never did anyone tell me that he got cut during his nail clipping. It was only the next day that I noticed a big lesion on his leg and realized his nails hadn’t been fully cut. Called twice to address the issue - each time Jada answered the phone. The first time she said that the groomer gets in at 10 AM, I told her I would give them a call then. I called back at 10:45 AM and she said the groomer will be in at 11:30 AM. I asked why the time keeps changing and she raised her voice and changed her tone stating she can’t control what time he gets in, but he will call me back when my dog is ready. I told her that my dog is not even there and that I had a concern from a prior visit a couple days before.In addition to the unprofessionalism on the phone, two things they did where they lost all credibility and trust with me:1- you injure my dog without letting me know during pick up. Accidents happen, not disclosing info is unacceptable though.2- you don’t know if my dog is in your care or notI can’t speak for their other services however DO NOT take your dog here for grooming.

I've been bringing my dog here for daycare for years. He always rushes in the front door tail wagging so safe to say he loves it! The front desk people are always super nice and know us by name at this point. I also love the report cards they send!

The day care at BHVL is excellent and our dogs love to to go! I can tell it's fun for the pups because they are anxious to scamper in when we arrive. The grooming was not up to my standard, but I'm picky.

My dog has been going to Barking Hound lofts for 11 years now- he absolutely loves it. I take him at least once a week to socialize and play with other dogs, esp when I know I will be busy working. He loves to stay here when I travel- I know he will be his happiest here. I completely trust the staff with my boy- he adores all the people that work here.

Cannot speak highly enough of my experience with Barking Hound so far. I boarded my dog there after a compatibility day. Not only were they incredibly communicative, but they even provide report cards and pictures every day. Our pup is very happy when he goes to BHV Lofts for daycare, which makes us happy, too! We love the “report cards” they send with photos of him playing during the day and comments about his mood. The only suggestion would be to do more, if possible, to combat the smells in the building… the smell can be unpleasant in the lobby. I’m sure that is not easy to control for with so many dogs on the property, however. UPDATE: In speaking w/ my husband just now, I learned the last time he picked up our dog it smelled really nice in the lobby. He said they had clearly done a thorough cleaning. Yay!!

I’ve been doing daily daycare services for my fur child for at least 6-7 years at this facility. Quite honestly, I wouldn’t go anywhere else in the city. Staff are very caring and attentive, and I never feel worried that she (my dog) wouldn’t get the best treatment. Highly recommend!

My puppy came for a temperament test and had such a wonderful time. The staff was welcoming and we plan to visit on a regular basis for daycare. I also love the fact I can check up on my puppy by viewing the outdoor play area webcams.

Love these guys! They are very flexible with boarding and daycare as my work schedule is erratic and can change daily. They take very good care of my pup who can be a little spicy with dogs. Crystal especially is wonderful!

It’s a big NO for us!!! .They treat every dog like they should be the same. It smelled horrible and the staff was just blah..My dog did not enjoy his one day of daycare in order to board and stay the night there. He is somewhat shy and extremely easy-going trained and very well behaved.I would never make him stay there Or go back there. I’ve waited some time to write this review to see if I felt the same way, and I do.
