My dog just graduated from puppy class and I am thrilled with what we accomplished. This was our third puppy training and we definitely got way more out of this then any others. In addition, my dog is in doggy day care three days a week and she loves it! She is always worn out when I pick her up and I love the picture they share on social networks. I recommend to everyone!!!!

Training @ Dawg House was nothing short of amazing. I loved my dog but at times, she was hard to live with due to certain habits. She had been in training prior but it didn't help. Cue Anthony! In just a short time period, it felt like I had a whole new dog. He was informative, and cared. If we had any issues even outside of training, he would hold time at the end of the lesson to provide any tips or tricks on issues we were facing. He was all about meeting your dog where they were at and the owners where they were at. Best training experience I've gone through, hands down!

We take our Great Dane here for training and Anthony has done such a wonderful job working with us and him! He truly cares about the animals and their needs and it shows.Our boy also comes for daycare and boarding and gets excited when we walk in the door. The employees treat him like he’s their own with tons of love!Highly recommend this place!

They shaved our husky’s double coat without our permission. Her underside is now completely uneven, and she has razor burns as well. When we called to ask why they shaved her, they informed us that was part of the sanitary portion of the mini groom. We specifically requested a trim, and their website even says that a mini groom consists of a sanitary trim, not a full shave. Incredibly upset, and will not be returning.

I was recommended the dawg house by barks and bubbles grooming in Jefferson. Let me just say that I am blown away by how professional and sweet the entire staff was. They listened to what I wanted. This is the best my dog has looked in years! I would highly recommend them for your grooming needs!

This was overall just such a poor experience. However, this was a last second stay as my other dog care pulled out and I will give credit that logistically this was a breezeAs a first time boarder- I was extremely worried about my 12 year old unspayed dog in heat, and any question I asked the staff was quick to make me feel like a hassle, giving me vague updates and very few details on my dog’s wellbeing, which already just rubbed me the wrong way.The main reason for my being upset however was the condition I picked her up in. Being in heat- my dog had come with heat diapers meant for discharge only, and for the diaper to be taken off when she was alone or taken to relieve herself (we had asked that she not participate in daycare) and when I picked her up she was covered in her own urine with it matting to her skin, not only staining her white fur but also causing intense skin irritation. You’d think a grooming place would notice how covered in urine my dog (and all her belongings) were, and notify me of the situation and ask if I would want her to have a bath (I mean hey, what’s more money out of my pocket and in theirs, right?). The lack of communication and to pick her up in this condition makes me feel like she was neglected, and she will not be staying again.

Not sure who the groomer was for Athena…..but you did an awesome job. Will definately ask for you next for the next cut. The results the 4th time were fantastic. The other 3 times were great cuts too, but this pregnancy cut is spot on. Highly recommend The Dawg House for your Goldendoodle cuts.

Love the owner & staff of The Dawg House! They’re always courteous and kind, treat all animals with respect and care, and really deliver if you want a special haircut for your fur baby! They are very conscientious & truly want you to be happy and satisfied with the job they do. I’d never take my little Anni anywhere else! Absolutely the best in town!

I have no idea what they did to my Dog…I am not buying their excuses the only problem my dog hasever had was an ear infection. I dropped my German Shepard off around 8:45am on 09/16/2022….six hours later and keep in mind we are 6 hours away from Athens. I get a call from (Dawg House Boarding) saying that he was throwing up white foam and asking my permission to take him to the vet. Of course, I gave them permission. then I get a call from the vet (UGA Animal Hospital) asking if they could do some test, and/or x-rays. I agreed for them to do it cost around $500. The Vet call back saying that his stomach had flipped (Had never heard of that), and they needed to do emergency surgery at a cost of anywhere between $5,000 - $10,000. The vet also said she did not know why it happen could have been something he ate. (Which they shouldn’t have been giving him anything because I feed him in the evening and left instructions with them that I do so plus, I took his food) or it could have been stress related. (Not buying that one because he has been there several times for boarding and/or a bath) at the end of the day we had about 10 min to make a decision and had no choice but to put him down. I got no call, email, text or nothing else from them with an apology or explanation of what happen. I have had pricing issues with baths, I would make bath appointments a month in advance once I got there to pick my dog up, they had not given him a bath after being there all day. And the most insulting thing is My son did a review about it and the Owner responded to him with an apology to him not us…as of 9/23/2022 they have still have not called, emailed, text or anything else with an explanation, apology to us and this happen on 09/16/2022. Just disgraceful. The Crazy thing is other Shepard owners we have talk to as well as other pet owners all agree something happen..I will never believe his stomach all of a sudden decided to flip…To the Owners reply....You're a liar

I've known Lisa for years since doing pet photography every Christmas there. I don't get my terrier groomed b/c I like her messy and hairy... but when I visit during the week occasionally, the pups all seem to be cool and the groomers are very nice. The clients I see during photo day seem to return and are very happy with Lisa. I'm attaching a photo of one of her happy clients I photo'd recently, Wilbert.

I have never had such AMAZING service with boarding. The ladies there working with the cats treated my kitty like one of their own and even waited with me past 6 to make sure I could take her home that day. Not only that but shared detailed stories of what she was doing when she was there. This isn’t my first time taking her here and definitely won’t be my last!!! Added picture just for cuteness!

On July 12th I purchased an 8 week old puppy for a $ 1,000 from Lisa and it died July 18th. After getting a necropsy report the cause of the death was viral yet, unknown. I didn't even have the puppy a whole week! Currently, Lisa refuses to give me a refund or another puppy that is in healthy condition. I refuse to allow anyone to suffer a scandalous transaction as I have. As I Read the previous reviews I see why my puppy may have died. Not cleaning kennels and taking care of their living conditions can cause all kinds of parasites and other viruses. This is just disgusting. I do not have the wrong business. I picked up my puppy from 380 Macon Hwy, Athens, GA 30606

This place doesn’t even have chairs for the customers to sit in, and had to fill out ridiculous paperwork just to get my dog’s nails trimmed. Went to Gameday Groomer and they trimmed and ground his nails in less than 10 minutes.

Do NOT board your dog(s) here. Picked up our dogs after a short stay and they– and their beds– reeked of pee; no one who worked there mentioned a thing. Called to complain and received only pat excuses.

We take our dog Chief here, & have been extremely happy with our experience with Haylee. She takes care of Chief & does such a great job with his grooming.He’s a labradoodle & is about 18 months. His hair needs to be groomed often, and he always is fresh and clean when we pick him up.Once you have a relationship with a groomer that takes care of your dog, they prefer to keep that same groomer, which we really like, and Chief likes. Haylee is the only person that has ever groomed him.They also do text appointment confirmations which is really good for our big, busy family. Couldn’t say enough good things about my experience. Today was another great day with his grooming! He was shaved down today:) Thank you Haylee!!

We love the Dawg House!! We love to travel to GA and knowing the owners in TX (who have also cared for our 3 doggies in TX!), we traveled with our three dogs and left them so we could hike freely (with our 15 year old man Tank in the best place!)Incredibly friendly and caring staff! Just picked up our 3 babies after dropping them off for 10 days while we headed on a family vacation knowing they were in the best hands to be cared for, played with and entertained! I highly recommend the Dawg House!!!We will be back on our road trips to GA! What a wonderful experience!

After five years away from Georgia, my husband and I find ourselves establishing our roots with the baby and two furry kids in Athens. Lucky for Ika (our 9-year old yorkie-poo), she is now getting to share with Daisy (the 1.5 year-old Goldendoodle) her favorite place for pampering. Lisa and her crew are still just as amazing now as they were back in 2011 when I first started taking Ika to Dawg House Grooming. They even squeezed both Ika and Daisy in for a grooming today when we called last minute (and it was a Saturday)! I couldn't be more thrilled with how they look. I've lived in California and Arizona over the last five years since leaving Athens, and I was never able to find a place that treats my dogs as well as Lisa and the folks Dawg House do. I am one thankful puppy mamma for being able to take my dugs to such an amazing groomer!

We brought our baby Bella here for years — even after we moved to Charlotte and I was coming through every couple months or so. That's how much we loved it. A lot of people can give a dog a great cut at a reasonable price, which Dawg House does, but what separates Dawg House was the obvious love the owner and team have for animals. For Bella it was more like a trip to the spa than the groomer. After her cuts she was free to roam in a safe, clean space with other small dogs until we could get her, which we really appreciated. Plus, letting owners pick out their preferred ribbon from the "ribbon wall"? Genius! I recommend Dawg House without reservation, and hope they expand to Charleston where we are now. :P

I will admit I have not taken my dog here and have limited information on the new owners. However, I noticed they claim to be "Athens largest and oldest pet boarding facility" several times on their website. This is a blatant falsehood and an outright lie. I know for a fact that Pawtropolis is older and their facility on the East side is nearly 3 times as large as The Dawg House (they also have another facility on the West side that I believe is still nearly twice as large as The Dawg House). I've been taking my pets to Pawtropolis for years and haven't taken them to The Dawg House before due to the previous owner (horrible woman) and, now, because I won't trust my pets to a dishonest business. They get 2 stars simply because there is literally no way the new owners are doing a worse job than the old owner.

The grooming they did 2 YEARS AGO was excellent however at that time they had not given me list of the new vaccines needed for grooming. And then proceeded to decline me without proper notification of changes for the vaccines. I have asked to be sent detailed emails of the vaccines required when they change because I live over an hour away. They have not been able to provide the proper information requested. As well I have requested to be removed from their services and they still send me emails about expired vaccines on their records.I have not been here in almost a year. I've found a new groomer closer to home.Due to the emails they have sent about the expired vaccines are noted and I quote "Rabies: 5/1/2023Distemper, Etc.: 5/1/2023"This is not a full detail of the required vaccines to JUST be GROOMED

Boarded my dog over the holiday and all I can say is we will definitely be back! The staff was so super nice and took amazing care of my baby! She came back home smelling better than when she left! I will be suggesting this place to all of my friends. So happy I found them!

I have been bringing my dog here for daycare for a while now. My dog always comes home happy and healthy and ready for a good nap. Since the new owners took over there has been a huge turnaround with this business it is definitely a place where my dog feels at home here. I highly recommend them for everything! They have a clean facility and really care about the dogs here. Thank you all for your hard work!

Dropped my dog off at 9 am, picked him up at 2. He was completely dry and the man said “we were having trouble drying him so we couldnt groom him” when I saw he looked pretty dry the man told me the groomer had left at 1:00. Dont go here if it is your dogs first time getting groomed, apparently the tools are intimidating for first timers.

This is my go to for boarding my aggressive dog. However lately they have been very disorganized. I asked for a bath 2 times ago and it never got written down. This last time nobody wrote down my entire reservation. What if there were no kennels left? Unacceptable. They desperately need a new system or more competent staff. My dog has also been scared to come in the last few times and I don't know what made her switch like that. However the staff is usually nice and know my dog. So I give a 3 for previous good experiences but otherwise would give a 2. Also their prices have gone up which is unfortunate. If I remember it's $45 per night.

I highly recommend Amber for your grooming needs! She does a wonderful job with a caring heart for both of my small dogs. They always look beautiful and she will take the time to call me with any concerns she may have. I so appreciate that from my groomer!

Majority of the time when I have taken my puppy here they have done their job in a timely manner. However, the past 3 times I had scheduled an appointment it was terrible. Most recently, I had called in advance and scheduled only a bath and a nail trimming. I had booked the 11:30 time appointment and was told this would be the first bath appointment of the day and it would take roughly 2-3 hours. I had called around 4:00 to inquire when I would be able to pick him up and was told that they had just started on him due to their being only 2 'bathers'. They said he would be ready closer to 5. At 5:15 I had not heard from them so I called back and was told that he was ready. Why had I not received a call? I rushed to go pick him up because he had not eaten all day due to his elongated stay. I do not recommend taking your dogs here unless you plan to drop them off for the duration of the day. Staff was also unable to answer simple questions and were not remorseful for their mistakes.

FIVE STAR REVIEWS ARE BOUGHT NOT EARNED! It is amazing this place is still is business. The front desk will give you a discount for your stay if you leave them a 5 star review in front of the owner. This facility is DANGEROUS! Not clean, no water for dogs, employees don't wear masks. Have personally seen owner be abusive to staff. Owner also drinks on the job (yes we can smell it on your breath). Please quit enabling this behavior and find another facility if you value the health and well being of your dog!!Update: Still amazed people use this place. Another RED FLAG, dogs are not required to have a Kennel Cough vaccination. Your pet WILL GET Kennel Cough, worms, or an early grave if you board here. Please stop using this place!

I had taken my dog there once or twice before, and had no issues, but when I took him there the last time, it was a nightmare. I dropped my dog off around 10 am, and as the day went on and I didn't hear anything, I started worrying. I called them multiple times to check in, and every time, they told me he still hasn't been bathed. I finally received a notification to pick him up 15 minutes before closing, meaning that my dog had been there close to 8 hours. My dog came back to me exhausted and anxious at having been gone so long.When I got there, I was then informed that he received a bath but his nails weren't clipped and his teeth weren't brushed. They didn't make me pay for those services until the next day, when I received a call that they HAD done those things and therefore had to pay for the service. I didn't argue in the moment and paid, but it felt unprofessional after the fact. This was all a surprise, as my prior experiences were good, but I would not recommend Dawghouse after this.
