Cost plus 10%? Yes, YOUR COST, not theirs, plus 10%. Don't be deceived. Meat prices there have sky-rocketed in the last couple of weeks. Even the expired marked-down (half rotten) meat is only reduced to every other grocery stores' regular fresh meat prices. This store has gone downhill fast. I used to look past how nasty the place was because of the prices on expired marked down items, but now the health department needs to be notified and make pop-in inspections regularly; or they should give better discount prices on expired items, especially meat, like they used to do. What is the excuse; new ownership? Sad.

I reluctantly went into this store this evening. I bought 2 juices, a Blount's family Chicken pot pie, box of ice cream and a big box of the super donuts that are served for breakfast in the school systems. Box was $22 bucks before the added 10%. Somehow my total came to $55 for those few items. So I payed. And looked at the receipt afterwards and realized that they charged me $17.15 for the pie. The pie was priced at $12.89 I took it to customer service and a price adjustment was completed. Pleasant service desk and and cashier experience. However I won't be coming back because I looked up the same pie at surrounding grocery stores and it was much much much cheaper. I say all this to say that This store is absolutely to expensive. You are not getting a deal whatsoever. You'd be better off going to Kroger on hwy 29. Great sales.. great prices. Great value. It's not worth it. Those prices are nowhere near the prices at the other local grocery stores. Even the ice cream is too much. This corporate marketing strategy is silly and the ppl who actually grocery shop there must be desperate cuz they are losing money overall. No way you're saving as a customer. No way. Go to Kroger or even the dollar general market across the street. Or go to Ingles on hwy 29 as well. Only 5 minutes away.

Dim lighting like a horror movie. Dirty and unorganized. Some of the fridges boarded up. The one food item I purchased was expired.Was harassed by one of the many homeless people that wander the parking lot.Bad vibes!

Ever since the new owners have taken over this place has went down!!! We been shopping here for years bc of the great deals! Now not one or two times but every time we are in there the owner or his brother literally follow you around the store. Well they follow my husband around who is African American! Put them out of business!!!

I found items that I like at piggy wiggly my family like turkey necks and wings. I can't get them where i Live they only sell the smoke ones I found everything I was looking for. The checkers were friendly and very helpful and the manager.

I don’t get them! Not the cheapest, not the freshest, not the most friendly, not the cleanest and not the tastiest either!Meat may be cheap, but what kind of meat is grey 🤔🤔 so as far as grey coloured meat goes this is well priced, couple of cents cheaper than the others

Always liked the "Hoggly Woggly!" I'm kinda partial to IGA, smaller stores. I love their meats and sometimes wish for a larger selection but the quality is great. Their prices are a little high on certain items, mainly name brands but their "Food Club" items are excellent and make up for it. The staff, here, has always been very friendly and helpful. The store, itself, is a little older and could use a bit of a touch-up and the smell of grease coming from the deli is a little strong but, overall, I'm happy there's a Piggly Wiggly nearby!

I went to get a bag of legs quarters got home and open them up and they smell so bad I goes to take them back and they was very rude the young ladies was OK but the young Caucasian man short was very rude rushing me out he didn't apologize and they smell so bad I had to put them in 2 bags and a bucket because it was leaking the blood and it smelled terrible the two workers verify that they didn't trust the lead quarters so I refused to get another bag I just got the money back The meat always Brown I barely go there but now I will never go again. All I could think about what if I had a put them in the freezer and didn't clean them and opened them up and cook them we could have gotten food poison.

I visited the pharmacy area and the pharmacist was great! I would give that area a 5-star for customer service. After you get past the smell of the store, I would give them a 4-star. This is not my regular store, but it is okay for a quick pop in store.

The pharmacy was A1. The employees in the pharmacy are so nice and very professional. The grocery store on the other hand is a different story. It smells terrible !! Bought some grapes and they tasted like bug spray. I do not recommend buying from the grocery store. But for any pharmacy needs, yes go see Barbara !!!!

Over all, a kind of "meh" experience. I've always loved Piggly Wiggly whenever I can find one, and was shocked to learn we had one here in Athens that I'd never heard of, but this location was a disappointment. Any other Wiggly I've gone to is clean and bright. This place was kind of just dark, grungy, and dirty. The product selection was alright, but there were multiple aisles where the shelves were just... disorganized or bare, and I'm not talking about the toilet paper aisle (that aisle will be pretty empty wherever you go). I'm talking about just the regular food aisles. I did kind of get some stank eye walking into the store, but I chalk that up as, I'm not a regular customer and they didn't know who I was. That store feels like it's a very close knit family of customers and employees. The cashier that rang me up was very friendly. I feel like if the employees (or company) put in the effort to get that store cleaned up, then reviews like mine would be far and few in between.

Fish Friday fish is good, can't believe they weigh your fish plate. Other days a set price. I think they should have a set price on Fridays fish day unless you order extra fish. Employees behind the counter could be a little more friendly, they act like they don't want to serve you. I only go for the fish until I can find another place if it doesn't get better.

Always a good place to save money on food. The produce department was nice looking as well as the meats I bought. A good location easy in and out, give them a try if you've never been there.

The store is always neat and clean. It's fully stocked. There is a variety of meats. The vegetables are fresh. Food from the deli tastes like it is home cooked. I highly recommend shopping here. 5 stars

Pleasant employees, fresh cooked food daily, they add 10% to your total of your bill, I've been told it goes towards staff(?)... overall I will go back. I never give 5 stars to leave room for improvements...

A man chased me in the parking lot and accused me of shoplifting a soda. After showing him the receipt he became more agitated the I actually paid for it. I asked his name and he told me he forgot. This was extremely embarrassing and never have I felt so degraded as I did yesterday. Next time I will pay the higher price at Kroger or Publix for piece of mind.

The Deli Management was rude, disrespectful and unfair. She was also crule to her staff. She talked to one gentleman who clearly seem to have some mental health issues like he was trash. She yelled at at me, I had to verbally put her back in line she was so disrespectful. I refuse to give my money to a place who employes people who act the way she does. I will not be returning!

It's a nice simply market for shopping. Some of the item are over priced, but still good all around. I can always find what I need in a reasonable amount of time. There is always someone near by to help with locating items and the management is fine.I'm happy with this store.

This place is a real hole. I just moved to the area and this was my first vist here and will be the last. Bad area and horrible conditions in the store. Floors were covered in filth and the male restroom was just unspeakable.Stay away from this store location.Maybe the Health Dept. needs to be alerted to this mess.

The store smells bad. It's dirty. The check-out lines are always long, only due to the customer's trying to figure out which items are paid for by food stamps, as opposed to WIC or other free government programs.
