First, a message to the owners of Ideal Bagel — Please start serving/carrying Choco Pronto’s coffee! You have such a fantastic local coffee roaster literally a few streets behind your store! Please support local Athens coffee roasters.Second, Ideal Bagel is really good! My personal favorite is the salt bagel with sundried tomato cream cheese. The bagel sandwiches are delicious and there’s good variety in terms of the bagel options. There’s seating available inside and outside. Parking is somewhat limited if you’re driving, especially during peak morning hours. In a town with limited good bagel options, Ideal Bagel stands alone.

This place has amazing delicious bagels. However, it gets EXTREMELY crowded on the weekend with INSANELY LONG lines. If you want to wait an hour for food go here on the weekend around 11am. You need to get here around opening time in order to get served in a reasonable amount of time. I'm not sure if you can order ahead for pickups, but if you can, do that on the weekend or you will be waiting forever, sad and hungry. I wanted to eat here with my girlfriend last weekend but the wait was too long and we had to leave. BE WARNED.Vegetarian options: Lots of bagels can be vegetarian.

The bagels were just about ok; not that great. The balance of flavors of the house fish bagel I ordered was off. But it was still edible. On the whole, if you’re really craving a bagel and would be happy with anything that is an approximation, this is good. Else, I don’t see much reason to go here.

I was a bit disappointed by this honestly. I came in and was excited to have a bagel. It was as soon as they opened. Not brightly lit on the outside and the sign doesn’t work. Inside definitely had an older decor and diner environment. There was a selection of spreads to choose from. I felt as though for a bagel place the options were limited for my liking. The coffee options were basic as well. I just felt limited to a plain egg and cheese and a plain with a spread. I will say I found the espresso spread was rather delightful.

I had the bacon egg and cheese on a garlic bagel 10/10 never had a garlic bagel before and this was tasty!Husband had everything bagel and lox, and as a northerner he was mighty surprised at how good it was.Will likely return for another breakfast date. Parking is minimal but if you're up early it is not a concern, or if you're walking.

Went in between 745 and 8 am today. Ordered 5 bacon and egg bagels and a bakers dozen bagels. Paid $53.19 for my order. The breakfast bagels were excellent. However there was a problem with my bagel order. I only received 11 bagels not 13. Had to go all the way back to the shop. The staff was quite rude when I very politely explained my problem and asked for my missing bagels. They asked for proof... exactly how am I supposed to prove 2 bagels were missing?? In the end they did give me the missing bagels but I would highly advise you to fully inspect your order prior to leaving!!

Awesome environment, nice and hipster. It's a great opened space. We had the Cadillac: bacon, fried egg, cheddar cheese on. An onion bagel. The bagel was good but I'm not a huge fan of onion bagels. Ask for a substitute I'd you can. Eggs, bacon and cheese were good. Bagel was toasted slightly too much. I'd go again though.

I got the Tupelo and it was not worth that money or .75 raise to it. They barely put any pb on it and the salt bagel does not go with the flavors of everything else at all. It was kinda sad bc I was looking forward to it and the amount of toppings was very piddly and not worth $5.75 for it. Altho when I got my sister’s bagel of her herb schmear on it that had plenty of spreading on it. I understand you get slammed but you gotta do a better job too in order to keep the sales. Also the coffee is not very good. Had to ask for another cup bc it was poured too high and I wasn’t able to put enough creamer in it. Still didn’t taste very good after sugar and creamer. Should have more options for creamer. Not an amazing place as I was told it was. Kinda disappointed.

So good it will spoil you. Smoked Trout bagel OMFG. Get it! Salmon is great too but get the Trout. Wish Goldbergs in Atlanta was as good as Ideal.

If you like a proper bagel, take time to come here. Bagels are excellent and their variety of cream cheese will cover most tastes. Made daily after dough is proofed for 12 hours. They also server deli sandwiches. Staff is friendly and efficient. Building is open and functional capable of seating 30+.

This is a fun little hipster place that is a staple here in Athens, Georgia. Just down the street from downtown, Ideal Bagel offers free parking and delicious lunch options that are pretty affordable. It's a great place to stay or take your order to go. If you're a bagel fan, this place is pretty good!

One of my favorite breakfast places.If you get the lunch, get the veggies instead of the fruit. The fruit side I got this time was pretty underwhelming--mostly bananas and a smaller portion than I've received in the past.

Very delightful! Lox with sundried tomato cream cheese on an onion bagel, bacon egg and cheese, and cinnamon raisin with plain cream cheese!
