I had a terrible experience with the groomer at this Petco location. She was extremely rude and impatient from the moment we walked in. She claimed my dog wasn't cooperating, but instead of trying to create a bond or take the time to calm her down, she was harsh and abrupt. She traumatized my dog. It was clear she had no interest in providing a positive experience for my pet. I would not recommend this groomer to anyone who cares about their pet's well-being and wants a compassionate and professional service. I wish I have read other people’s reviews

My husband brought our dog who has extremely short hair to be groomed and was quoted a ridiculous price as well as harassed about upgrades to shampoos and other products. Samantha obviously works off a lot of commission. Avoid!! When you call and speak to Samantha, she will start yelling at you and hang up on you. Horrible! Update: Nala was groomed at another Petco today for $98. That’s a huge difference from the quote Samantha gave of $123 with at least another $15 for a total of 138 minimum. We are so thankful for the Petco we usually use that is honest and dependable. Shame on Samantha for price gouging!

A rude and racist Manager at Alpharetta Petco.Back Story: I bought a 75 gallon aqueon open glass tank on 30th March and due to change of plans, I went back to return the item. I paid around 85$ for the tank on my card and when I am returning within the 30 days and with Receipt, I was told I will be getting only partial amount on the card and remaining 27$ as store credit. I question why, cause based on Petco return policy if it is within 30 days and with receipt I should be receiving full refund to the original mode of payment. Cashier over there didn't know why system was showing it as store credit, so called the store manager. I didn't catch her name but she started yelling at us like that's how system works and we don't have any option. I was asking for the reason or if any other solution available. She started screaming like if you want you can take the refund in store credit or leave the store. As we got furious about the response she was providing by yelling at us, my friend also started shouting. She took that as advantage and called cops. So we had to take the tank back to other store in Milton.As we enter Milton store, the manager Neal told that he received call from her and she said that "we are Pakistani's coming over be careful". Neal, after talking with us and listening to our side of the story understood that the we are not the problem. He helped us resolve the issue and apologized for her behavior on behalf of Petco. Even though Alpharetta Petco is nearer to my home, I will be going to Milton Petco instead. I would suggest the same for others. If I have a option to give zero/negative stars I would give that to this location.

Took our little crazy rescue "Lady" in for her rabies vaccination. Staff were extremely nice due to Lady being quite nervous. Everything went well. Very happy!

Yesterday I went into Petco at the Alpharetta location on States Bridge Road. My vet had recommended the Stella a Chewy dog food for my furry boy. It was a bit overwhelming being that there were so many choices, as well as my vet wasn’t very specific on which one to purchase. Patrick had come over to see if I needed any help. I can’t express enough how helpful Patrick was. He definitely went above and beyond out of his way to help me. He could tell I was overwhelmed and he was super patient and so extremely knowledgeable on the different Stella & Chewy brand, as well as other brands too. He calmed me down. I love the return policy that Petco has. Patrick reassured me if the new food didn’t work that I can pick out something else. Patrick also told me about a wonderful monthly membership that Petco offers. This was the best experience that I had at Petco.

Took Barkley in for grooming, and our baby looked so handsome when Samantha finished with him. We were nervous since we had bad grooming sessions with another chain. She took her time explaining what she was going to do. She spent time with Barkley before the session and rested mama's nerves. He's an Australian Shepard, and she brought him back to looking like his old self. As long as she is at this location, we will only book with Samantha! Thank you for putting up with me and making me feel comfortable leaving my fur baby!

Friendly manager actually came to buy fish , she explained a lot about their snakes as my son was very curious. She showed us a lot of Snakes. We love to visit again.

I got to the store only 5 minutes before they closed on a Sunday. Not only did they not have a problem with that, but also, they took their time helping me. Check out was expeditious. There was somebody checking out, so they opened a new check out. The staff was professional, kind and friendly. I love my neighborhood Petco!

Store is fine and the general employees are very good. The issue is the grooming. They traumatized our dog so bad she hid in the house the entire afternoon. Cowered whenever we cam in room. Shaking and fearful. She is a 7 month old shepard so not normal for her at all. We will never allow them near our dog again.

This store should hire less racist young kids or their staff should know more about legal laws. I went there with my kids and Ms. Briana ( Zabriya on her Petco tag ) refused to sell me 2 fishes ( $ 2.99 each ). She stated that I would not give them the proper care.....such of conclusión and we guess it could be because of my accent!I was asking questions about the care of the fishes and wanted to buy a bottle for the maintenance of the water. I asked to speak with the manager and Ms Zabriya refused to tell me when the next manager will come since hers was on vacation.I had been going there for several years , and never happened this before. We go and buy two fishes and celebrate our 3000 years tradition with $2.99 fishes and care about the fishes as much as we can with our children. We DO the same every year !!!Shame on Ms Racist Zabriya jumping to conclusions! Run to another store, but not this one where they are racist and decline to sell you 2 small fishes.

I have been into this Petco on two separate occasions. The first occasion was back about 4 months ago. I had asked for assistance the employee informed me that they would be right with me. I stood for about 30 minutes as they continued to help other customers that came after me and continued to inform me that they would be with me in a moment, until i finally decided to walk out and take my business elsewhere. The second occasion was just today I went to adopt a hamster with the hope that the customer service had approved. I purchased their enclosure that they had on display directly under the animals cage. The employee then told me that i could not adopt the animal due to the enclosure i had purchased for the animal, even though they sale this enclosure specifically for the hamsters. I then asked to speak to a manager, she informed me that , the fact that they sale these enclosure for these animals but do not recommend them is a corporate problem, and that she would not be letting me adopt an animal. She refused to give her name. The employee who was helping, her name is Nik.

We had a very knowledgeable and patient assistant. I wish I could remember his name. My 4.5lb dog has food allergies. We believed it is chicken to be exact. We learned that most dog food either has chicken meat or chicken flavoring in them. There are very few made without it. He introduced us to three different dog foods that did not contain chicken meat or flavoring. My dog hasn't had a long day and night of scratching since. We are so happy.

The woman who helped me was extremely friendly and helpful. My only complaint is Petco's exchange policy. I bought a large in the Mrs. Clause outfit, and when it arrived at my home, it was extremely tiny. It wouldn't even fit my small Jack Russell! So I just wanted to exchange it for a bigger size (same retail price). The only difference was that I bought the tiny one on a black Friday sale. Well, by the time it arrived at my home, I went back in, and petco wouldn't do an even exchange for the price I paid for it on sale. I had to pay the price that it was the day that I went in. I've never seen a company do that.

Nice staff. Clean store. Easily find what you want. I live in the city but drove out here for a Vetco appointment. All booked up in the city. They took care of my dog and I was able to pick up food while getting shots and flea/tick medications. We have been using this service for the last five years.

Definitely the cleanest PetCo I have ever been to, with the friendliest staff. Everyone seemed so excited to answer my questions and help me pick out the best for my babies! There Dog trainer is a life saver! He was able to teach my mentally disable dog not just how to sit, but how to play with toys, and brought out her real personality. And we can’t forget grooming!! All the groomers here are so kind to my dogs and Even my little kitty cat.. I can really appreciate the time and dedication shown to the animals here, they all look so happy and healthy! Thank you Alpharetta PetCo for always giving it your best.

Customer service was terrible, manager refused to give her name but yet the associate is made to wear a name tag. Store associates name was Nik. They wouldn’t allow me to adopt an animal because I bought all items to care for the animal at their store for store pickup. Because I wouldn’t by the 200$ hamster cage and set up they wanted me to buy. When asked for explanation on why they sale that hamster cage and won’t allow me to adopt and why the hamster cage is on display. I was told that it’s a cooperate issue and they shouldn’t sale those cages but cooperate won’t listen.

Limited snake keeping supplies. The ball python for sale was in poor condition, maybe due to the set up conditions. The enclosure wasn't at the proper temp or humidity. The snake was climbing and wrapped around the temp sensor and didn't appear to be shedding well, all signs of a stressed snake. The employee was very friendly and tried to be helpful but wasn't well informed. The employee stated the snake is not eating, so they've been force feeding it and giving it insects. The store was clean, and other animals appeared to be well cared for, and the employees were around and would offer assistance to help whenever needed.

Today. 10/27/2023. We had a grooming appointment established a week before. They send and email confirming the appointment, two days later they send call asking to confirm the appointment again, wich I did. And yesterday they call several times asking to reconfirm the appointment. How many times we suppose to do that. We had our appointment at 8.30 today and I got there 10 minutes late the door was closed, and wasn't able to get in, finally the groomer comes out and tells me that i am late. In a bad mood. And I didn't like her attitude so I responded that if she didn't wanted to do it just to said it. Wich she did and I loose it I called for the manager and the manager trow me out of the store. . Today they lost a customer who buys for tree dogs, two cats and chickens, we olso bring them to the bet clinic. To bad I used to like the store I guess we are going to petsmart from now on.

Petco was kind enough to send two coupons for my dog's birthday, so I used them this morning. The young woman at the register knew exactly where the items were and also rang up my purchases. She was great, friendly and helpful!

First time in this location and a bald head man with glasses runs into us right as we walk in. Doesn't say excuse me , hello or anything . Just rude. Ran towards a young man at register who seems to be busy flirting with the groomer behind the register. I went to go get dog food just to step in dog feces. It already had been stepped on, as there was a trail. If the workers here would have been working it's very noticeable and would have seen it. I grabbed my bag of cat food and head to the counter just to see 3 huge cockroaches on the floor. And no this is not a feeder cockroach. It's a cockroach that invades into the foods and snacks here. Disgusting and will never be back to this location and do not recommend for others to. Check your food items before purchasing.

Ethan, Nick, and Gabby are all wonderful associates who go above and beyond for their customers and their pets. We recently had to give up our beloved guinea pigs, and it was a very emotional time for my kids and me. They treated my family and our pets with the utmost compassion. They took interest in their names, their personalities and behaviors, how they were bonded, everything. What could have been a terrible, scary experience was one of the sweetest memories our family will have, knowing our babies were going into the care of people who genuinely love animals and their jobs. Thank you!!! You were angels that day. Give them all a raise!!!

This is by far the best Petco I've ever been to I had the most incredible experience and all I was doing was buying some goldfish for the fish tank but they made it a really enjoyable experience my four-year-old got to pick out his own goldfish and she actually chased him around in the tank for him and I appreciate that and then we go to check out and have the friendliest cashier Petco has ever had KC you rock I'll be back this is my new store

Updated review: Bought 2 guinea pigs end of November. Was reassured several times they were both boys. Took them to the vet today, 1 is a girl and she’s pregnant. Went back to the store to tell them, they will do NOTHING. So now I’m stuck with guinea pig babies AND a $470 bill to neuter 1 Guinea pig. Do not buy animals here, they have no idea what they are doing and do not care when they lie to you about what you’re buying.
