Day 3 and this store still has the orange sign on the door saying they’re closed AGAIN. Such an inconvenience. The staff by the way suck. Everybody seems miserable as if they hate the place. They barely greet you. The store is always a mess. Isles always filled with stock carts and clutter. At this point fire everybody or just shut the place down.

Located on the corner of lake ruby rd and thompson nursery, Dollar General is a convenient place to buy groceries that you need last minute in rural areas which are populated. Good selection, self checkout available. Popular place for beer and cigarettes.

Came by today and front doors were locked during normal business hours. Could not purchase what I came there for. They missed out on about 10-15 customers so far in the past 10 minutes I’ve been here. Not a good look for the business.

Messy shelves, half of the messy shelves are empty. I'm running into boxes or restocking bins on carts in the aisle ways. When I went, they only had one register open and a line of about 15 to 20 people waiting to check out. The self check out wasn't working.

The store at thompson nursery rd is an absolute disgrace to our neighborhood. Parking lot is trashed all over with weeds everywhere. A beautiful fire station and property right next door is nice but your store looks like a slum

I come here often as this is my neighboring store and honestly the lack of customer service is ridiculous. I won’t say that it’s all employees because some are very nice to me each time I shop, however, there is one woman in particular that has the nastiest attitude. She’s short, not sure if she is black or maybe Afro Latina usually has her hair straightened, but you’ll know who it is immediately from her attitude. She’s been rude to myself and my mother in the past and I did nothing. However, after today, I just thought it got to the point of ridiculousness. I watched her stand there and all but mock a woman, just because she wanted to make sure a coupon was working and that she was saving her money and in the end whatever the woman rung up, she did it wrong anyway, she was blatantly rude to this woman and every time I see her she acts like she doesn’t want to be there . It’s not that hard to have a nice attitude especially when someone’s not being rude to you. Everyone is short staffed. Everyone is working long hours but that does not give you the right to be nasty

Today was sad. At 8 am in morning cashier Jennel and her brother started threatening a customer in store. I didn't know dollar general allows for u to bring family to work. Her brother is always there. If she not outside smoking or begging for cigarettes or crying because boyfriend is call her. But what bother me was she was so proud to tell the lady her BROTHER IS GANG MEMBER. SO BE SAFE AT THIS STORE. BETWEEN DRUG USE UP THERE AND FAMILY MEMBERS HANGING THERE. BE CARE.

I got what I needed which was great but when I accidentally left my umbrella, I left only for like 5 minutes and had to go back only to find out someone stole my umbrella, great store just wish I didn't leave my umbrella

The cashier and the male manager have absolutely no idea about basic elementary math, as with adding, subtracting and multiplying when it comes to discount. They definitely need to go back to complete their Math class( it's obvious they've skipped class that day)In addition to this, they are also rude due to the fact that they're the ones that make the mistake, made me waste 25 minutes of my time and after that, not even an apology except for an attitude. Before anything else, I'm not pointing fingers to anyone but I would like for this to get corrected for the sake of the business.

I like this Dollar General. Not all the DG are as clean and neat as this store. And there bathrooms are clean and stocked. There isn't any product clogging up the isles what to be put on the shelves. There usually pretty busy but I can still get in and out quickly. Good Job DG...

Only leaving one because 0 wasn't an option. I didn't catch her name but she was working around 3 pm when I visited. She was incredible rude during the whole transaction and even snapped her fingers at me to hurry while I tried to get change out of my pocket. She said rude things under her breath and had a bad attitude the whole time. I'm in here alot and this was my first experience with her. She must be new because I've never dealt with her or her attitude before. Definitely expect better especially when you work in retail and you have to deal with people all day long.

Not a big deal. I prepared to drive more miles and find more varieties. Updating my review. I went back to this store to give then a second chance on August 22 and it was worth. When I went on line to pay for my groceries I place the shopping basket in one of the corner and the cashier (an older lady) was very rude and told me to put the basket where it belong. I apologized to her and and told her that I wasn't familiar with the store she told me to give her the basket. She was so rude. Its not what she say it's how she approaches me. Never again. Mrs I was paying with dollars not food stamps.

1st time I was in one of these and I was pleasantly surprised at the prices and selection. Bought some frozen pizza and smoked sausage way cheaper than the chains ! I like the fact that everyone was pleasant as well.

Convenient BUT the refrigerator door handles have been broken for well over 3 months. Mentioned it to the cashier and strongly suggested they report it. It’s difficult to open plus dangerous. It’s still not fixed as of yesterday 01/07/19. What does it say about the company when they can’t take care of their property.

Lines are always really long. They leave old sales prices up and won't honor them. Staff is rude and over-worked. Not worth the "convenience". I live a block away but rather drive to Publix for better service and prices.

Debit and Credit card machines hardly work! There is definitely money in there! Gone less than 5 minutes and knowing we just ran to the ATM they unscanned and put most of it back the young kid kept apologizing it was not his fault management sucks they don't care and have no clue what or where items are in the store! Save yourself a trip go to Dollar tree or even ugh Walmart!

With two new businesses opening up,on 27. 17 Scenic Highway DG is the way to go. Hi like going into,my,neighbor store, everything is always stocked up,the easy to find. Just one problem,the lines are backed up,in here. Maybe you guy's should hire some new people,that don't mind getting the lines down.

As always. A jumbled up mess, with too much of the product sitting in the aisles, awaiting to be put on shelves. What might appear to be out-of-stock, may very well be waiting to be put up. While sales are good, the staff is shorthanded, and unable to straighten up the mess while handling sales.

Convenient, fast, clean. They usually have everything I need, basic vitamins, otc meds, toiletries and drinks, spices, soaps detergent and nice dollar section with disinfectants, cleaners, etc. Seasonal is good too; I found 4 matching medium-sized pots for planters here for about 3 dollars each. They even had hummingbird food.

Nice to have a place that has many of the househokd itme you need without having to go to a big box store. That being said there too little space to move around when cramming so much stuff into a small space.

Great location and much cheaper and just as fast Check out times as nearby convenience stores. Unless you are going to need gasoline, which they do not sell, I would highly recommend The Dollar General Store.

The DG in Voluntown is VERY nice! Always well stocked and neat and CLEAN! I have also had excellent, prompt service every time I've stopped!
