We spent this past weekend at Anderson's Lodge not really knowing what to expect aside from their website. When you get there you have to go to the bar and check in which was easy.We stayed in the less expensive room since it had two beds (room # 1-9 if I'm not mistaken). The room was clean, had a lodge feel, and worked for what we needed. The beds were memory foam so the beds were comfy. Anderson's Lodge is right on the St. John's river so you have great views of the river and of the sunset. The lodge has a bar on-site that serves food and this was the best part. Our bartender Gabby was awesome and handled the busy crowd. Everything we ordered came out correct and was really tasty. We brought our boat and they had slips available. While we were there they were renovating some of the slips by replacing the wood on the dock which makes the slips look nicer. There is no boat ramp on property however the public boat ramp is only a couple blocks away so we didn't find that much of an issue.Overall we had a wonderful time and would recommend Anderson's Lodge and the bar and grille.

I had a great experience here, I was only here for one night but I wish I’d booked more.I turned up around 5.30pm, went to the bar as I was instructed, and had a beer, I immediately got chatting with someone at the bar, it was just that kinda place. I got my key and put my stuff in the room. Went back to the bar for some food and few more drinks, had some cracking Wings and Shrimps, I love wings and this place did not disappoint, they did good wings. I think I over ordered out of excitement, but they kindly put the leftovers in a box for me.I stayed in the bar all night, got introduced to loads of the locals and felt so welcomed. I even got up and did some karaoke, I never do karaoke. The bar staff were amazing, so friendly and welcoming, also they were great singers! The prices were really reasonable to, I had lots to drink, beers, shots and a lot of food and my bill only came to about $65 not including tip.I would highly recommend this place especially to anyone touring, it’s just one of those unique finds that gives you an experience like no other, it’s not just another soulless motel, it’s a place to enjoy. My only constructive criticism would be that it might be nice when only a few people are staying to separate the guests rooms a little, it wasn’t anything you could have predicted, but the guys staying in the room either next door to or next door but one were builders and they got up super early and made a fair bit of noise when they were leaving for about an hour. Like I said though, you couldn’t have predicted it, so defo not worth dropping a star over.

This lodge is the very best place my daughter and I have ever stayed. The rooms are clean, there’s coffee offered, the water comes out hot, and the employees are beyond kind and helpful. They have a great bar, a delicious restaurant, and boat docks overlooking an amazing view.BTE, bikers are very welcome, and they even accept small dogs.I would recommend your hotel over any other in your area. Bravo to you!

We stayed at the lodge quite a while back, but I still have fond memories of the time we had there. We drove our boat down from Jacksonville for a fishing trip around Lake George. It was a great location and the lodge was quite neat. The Bar and Grill was fun, and it was nice to have the docks there for boats. I think we may come back for the first time in a while soon. It will be nice to see the lodge again and the beautiful wildlife.

Highly suggest this location if you want to truly have a great time, enjoying oneselves....Rooms: That's requires signing a waver of confidentiality, in order to hear the details of what went down inside those closed quarter's, unless you were in the room next door to me, then there would be no need to even ask that question, lol 😂Nearby activities: Fishing, eating, and just using your imagination to come up with some highly suggested extra-curricular activities!Safety: I believe everyone outta have atleast one in there pocket, 😂Walkability: Depends on how much, "extra-curricular activity" that takes place behind closed doors as to whether ull even be able to walk the next morning, lol!Food & drinks: I definitely suggest plenty of water, depending solely on the calories burned while staying in the bedroom.Noteworthy details: Let's just say, it's just one of those things where, YOU JUST HAD TO BE THERE, TO TRULY APPRECIATE THE ENTIRE EXPERIENCE !!!!

Amazing place to stay! David is a great guy, cares a lot about his guests, and is always available. We have stayed at Andersen's Lodge for our annual springs trip for the last 4 years. The bar is great and priced right. We had the food for the first time this year since they just opened the restaurant and it was delicious.Great location, easy access to the rooms and docks, and pet friendly. We all love coming here every year. If you realize you are lucky to experience this great area of Florida for a price and community like this, you'll truly enjoy your stay.

This was our last stop of the day. There are also accommodations for staying there. When you visit be sure to talk with Stephen, he's a real hoot! Very nice guy with a good personality. The peacefulness of the place is just what the doctor ordered! Would definitely visit again!!Food & drinks: The food was delicious and a great value. Service was very good too!

Feels like a local scene rather than a fancy pants resort. Warm and friendly. My top choice for trips to Crescent City, even if it's a bit farther than the motel. After hours when the office is closed someone managing the bar will help you to your room.

I really like this place and the people. The rooms are actually decent for welaka, but are ready for a renewal on internal bathroom doors and such. The only thing I REALLY wished they had on site was a customer laundry machine. If they were worried about locals using it or something, they could only open it during certain hours.

We came to Welaka for the first time to see a band playing at the Log Cabin. We booked a room at Andersen’s thinking it was just a hotel but it was so much more! We loved it so much we wound up staying an extra night! David, the manager, was especially accommodating and actually gave us rides to a couple of places we needed to go. And the bar was fantastic with Brittany and Tia creating a super warm and friendly atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

Camping in the area & was told about renovations here by a local. It's a-ways off the highway but right on the river. Bar & new outside deck is great...very spacious & all new. Boats can access & park under deck. They have entertainment on weekends. Restaurant opening hopefully in July. Great bartender in daytime when we were there @ 4pm. Will be going back on our motorcycle ride in a few weeks so more info to come after that.

We had a short weekend stay at Anderson's Lodge and were pleasantly surprised with a wonderful visit. Thank you Ray and Gwen for sharing your 100 year old gem with us. You and your staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was as pleasant as possible. We cruised down the St. John's River, had a slip waiting on us, and a quaint room with a beautiful view of the river. The room had been refurbished and was very clean and tastefully decorated. The open beam ceilings made the room really cute and with an efficiency kitchen we had everything that we needed. When putting our boat into the water in Jacksonville we noticed that our stern light was missing. When asking Ray where we might be able to pick one up, he called a marine store for me to make sure they had one, and had a gentleman working for him take me to the store since we did not have a car with us. How nice was that! They gave us a fantastic dinner recommendation, we boated right up to Renegades and liked it so much we ate every meal there. My wife and I loved sitting on the deck in the evenings sipping a drink and me enjoying a cigar feeling surrounded by nature with not a sound to interrupt us and could even see the milky way. We fell in love with the quaint country area and actually think it might be a place that we mayretire to some day. I cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay. There was some hurricane damage to the docks and restaurant, but Ray and his man were busy working on it. The restaurant is almost done and will re-open soon. They told us when I made the reservation to expect that, so all was good. Ray said that they should be finished with the Dock repairs very soon, so it will all be new upon our return. We will definitely come back to this piece of heaven!

So hard to find places like this in this modern day and age a place with absolutely wonderful views from the restaurant and bar. A place with a warm hostess and host... honestly they made us feel like long time friends. True Southern Hospitality! We opted for the riverfront cabin... ahhhhhhhhh sunset... a partial kitchen... deck... river views! We are looking for an excuse to visit again soon!

The worst room I’ve ever stayed in by far! There was blood on the “new” towels for us to wash with. There was a bug in one of the beds. The room was about 90° with the smallest window unit they sell and it is 100+° outside in FL. We told the bartenders who told us the key was in the room, they said we can get a new room but we’re making our drive to the next town. I expect a full return after what has the worst experience I’ve ever seen at any place my family has ever been to. Would give zero stars if I could, and I’m not a complainer.

Out for a ride on the bikes and we stopped for a quick drink. Early afternoon on a Monday, almost no one around. Really peaceful and had our choice of places to sit, both inside and out on the large deck. Friendly staff, worth a visit if you're in the area.
