Good for dog and cat food, and basic pet supplies, not so good for actual animals. When we started our aquarium, we got some of our fish from here, and all of them died within a couple months. In comparison, the same kinds of fish we got from a dedicated aquarium store are alive and thriving at 6+ months. This is not at all a mark on the employees, this is a corporate thing! The staff here love animals, and have little to no control over what animals they receive, but do their best to take care of them. Occasionally you’ll find someone who’s got a particular specialty and can give some really good advice. However, they’re chronically understaffed, and have a high turnover rate, there’s little to no specialty training on how to care for anything other than dogs and cats, and a lot of their information on that is coming from Brand reps who are pushing them to sell their products. Get info from your vet on what food is right for your pet, and then come buy it here for a good price. If you’re just starting out with a new pet, get startup supplies here, but if you really want to make sure your birds, reptiles, or fish are getting the best care, go to a specialty local store instead of a big box chain.

We have spent well over a thousand dollars trying to cure an issue that all started with fish from this store. We have 4 well cycled planted aquariums. Zero ammonia Zero nitrite, nitrate of 25-30. Ph of 7.6. Kh of 80 GH 75. I could go on with my parameters. Anyhow our tanks had zero issues until we brought home fish from this store. We have had ich in two tanks now. Both started after the addition of their fish. Hundred of dollars in dead fish, water, and treatment. Not to mention the heartbreak of our children. I should have known when I saw dead fish in their tanks. Their branch in Englewood confirmed that this store knows they have ich and doesn't tell customers. Don't be fooled by their response. They do nothing to make right.

Recently, I tried to return cans of cat food. I had put my sick cat to sleep the week before. The male cashier said I needed a receipt, which I no longer had. He refused to give me cash. He would only offer store credit. I explained that I had no use to purchase anything if I lost my only pet. He did not care or offer any sympathy. This store has poor customer service.

so today I couldn’t help myself and buy a beta fish. Because it looks like it was on his last limb. I don’t know who’s doing this, but this is disgusting. They have absolutely no water they are suffocating. It’s disgusting.

We had a situation with food we purchased for our dog. When we brought the food back to return it, we were welcomed in the store by Jessilee. We explained to her what had happened and she went above and beyond. She was very concerned with what had happened and was very sincere. She is definitely someone you want working in your store! She knows how to take care of customers and their needs and you can tell she really cares about your pets 🐶♥️

Very helpful, knowledgeable and professional staff. They are always there to greet you when you walk in and always available to answer questions. I finally remembered to use the manufacturers coupon I had in my car for several months. The dog food was slightly discounted by the store and she also gave me the coupon discount as well. Nice! I went in looking for a doggie backpack. They didn’t have them but she suggested where I might look. This is my “go-to” store for all my pet supplies. Convenient central location with lots of parking. Highly recommend a visit to this store.

We walked out in disgust after asking for help in the fish department, where two staff members knew we were waiting, and then left waiting for a good 20+ minutes. They lost over $100 in sales that I had budgeted, due to their lack of attention to their customers.NOTE: After I posted the above, the Corporate Office responded. Their Customer Support representative, Joanna, was SO pleasant and helpful. By the time we were done, I was extremely satisfied.

Love the store. They offer a variety of supplies for all sort of pets. The best part about the store is the customer service that you receive. All employees are very knowledgeable. I was there recently to purchase dog food. The manager, Natalie was very patient, professional, and offered me a wealth of information. Due to that, I was able to make a decision that will benefit my puppies.Thank you, Natalie!

I get that help is scarce but customer service skills is a must. Stood in line while girl with 2 earrings in her nose continued to tell customer I cannot do returns without a phone number. Instead of calling a manager she chose to let everyone stand in line while this went on. Finally the woman paid for her goods and stepped aside asking for a manager. The clerk then left the counter to go find a manager (instead of calling). Came back and preceded to start up again with same customer. Never apologized to line or looked up to say sorry, I’ll be with you in a moment. After 10 minutes I left my goods on counter and went to Petco where they actually have trained employees and checked out in minutes.

Had to go to this location as the one in Englewood won't be reopening until April luckily pet supermarket has it all I usually go to PetSmart but that's a 30 min drive will have to make this my primary place for pet supplies while I'll be in town for a couple months. Friendly staff & lots of cute pets for adoption love the fluffy bunny not that I need any more pets but love to look!

Staff was friendly and helpful. They had a good knowledge of where things were in the store. The prices are quite high😬 and they had their rabbit labeled as a premium rabbit which is hilarious and sad at the same time because premium is not a breed yet people will pay the expensive price because they don't know any better and are enticed by the word premium. They had the rabbit labeled as $99 but "on sale" for $75 for an unlabeled non pedigree rabbit which is crazy expensive.

Great toys! I buy more here than mosr places because of their prices and selection. The buy 10 get 1 free has never worked for me amd I have purchased dozens of bags so I find thay annoying, but maybe I do not understand the parameters.

Extremely DISAPPOINTED with animal care and employee attitudes. Worst pet store I’ve ever been to. Rabbits and guinea pigs had no hay at all (something they NEED at all times), ferrets only had wet food mix that was very old and dry and not regular pellets, they were starving I’m sure. The chameleon had no humidity whatsoever. When I told the employeeS about the animals not having hay they didn’t care at all. One of the employees was standing doing nothing so she could have easily given the animals FOOD. I stayed for 20 minutes after that to see if they would give the animals food and they didn’t. I work with these animals everyday and this is not how they should ever be kept. DISAPPOINTED.

I am a consistent customer and buy 99% of my pet needs at this store. Prior to Christmas I purchased a doggie sweater/coat and went by the measurements given on the tag. There was no sign indicating that Christmas items were not exchangeable or refundable. Nor did they verbally communicate that to me and it said nothing on the receipt! It did not fit and I tried to exchange for another size and it still had the original tags on and the dog did not wear it. The large dark haired girl who appeared to be a manager and was working on Sunday 1/5/20 refused to exchange or refund, stating that it was a Christmas item. So JUST A BEWARE TO OTHER SHOPPERS IF YOU USE THIS STORE THAT “SEASONAL”. MERCHANDISE CANNOT BE EXCHANGED OR REFUNDED. Time for me to change to the other pet store in our town. This was the poorest of Customer Service!! It is not so much about the money!

I shop here often and there are two girls that I always see dealing with the most ignorant people. I think they’re the managers. I work in the food service industry and I hold a lot of respect for those girls.Those girls are young. They get yelled at for some of the most ridiculous things. One person tried to return some toy with bells on it covered in peanut butter and said it wasn’t used and was being so snotty. The tall redhead girl with glasses was so polite, and I knew she was just as annoyed as I was watching the whole thing. But..she kept a smile. I would’ve shoved those peanut butter bells where the sun doesn’t shine....Most recently I went in and the other manager with the tattoos was telling a lady that the food she was trying to return was petco’s brand. The old bat was rude saying that the girl doesn’t know her store because she only shops at pet supermarket and not petco. Girl with tattoos rings it up and it didn’t show up and said sorry and told her where to find petco. Lady left angry. Angry! I spoke with the tattooed manager after and she was cracking a joke to make me smile and apologized for the wait. APOLOGIZED TO ME? I wish I could hug her....you can see in her face she was being genuine.Before you write a review, think of what those workers go through. I’m in twice a month for my dog and cat food. I never had a bad experience and I can be a crabby old lady too. But I know the girls have to follow the rules.It’s refreshing coming into this pet supermarket store because it’s always the same people I see. The tall redhead girl with glasses, the black haired girl with tattoos, and the tall boy with glasses named Daniel. They are always laughing and smiling and make you feel like welcome.I could’ve had a bad experience with their policies...... But I never had a bad experience with their people. This store is awful with their customers and their pets. I buy an animals there and spend $$$ every week but when it comes time to own up to their pet health garuntee they slack. I trying to return an obviously sick animal and they turn around and try to tell me how much I spent on what day when I have my OWN receipt saying when and what I spent but that won’t help you none either. Do yourself a favor and go to a local breeder or family owned pet store bc these big coorpations don’t care about their pets or their customers happiness. They just care about your money and I’m sick of it. Most breeders guarantee the entire life of their pets not just the 15 days after you buy them. I mean a well breed animal should be healthy well after a year old... but my 5 month old ferret looks like she Is paralyzed in her back legs but they’re not responsible for it because THEY THINK they sold her to me 17 days ago. I’ve spent thousands at pet supermarket and I won’t spend another dime because they have no loyalty to their customers.

I went there yesterday I needed baby bird formula. They were out. Not happy. How do you feed babies without formula! You have to visit another store. Inconvenience!
