What a breath of fresh air! With all of the "bigger" places out there and customer service going by the way side, it's refreshing to see that John and his team are not letting that hinder the way they do business. This was my first purchase, so I was a little skeptical. That all went away as the day after placing my order, I got a phone call going over what to expect with shipping of my new tank and supplies. I then got a follow-up call to go over the details one more time! Everything arrived lighting fast, well packaged and with zero issues. I've already placed another order! Since my wife's assurance to her best friend to care for her pets in passing, we are now blessed with a Clown fish. So, the aquarium needed commitment and had to be the best. I found Fish Tanks Direct and soon found that there really are good people out there. They are professional, friendly and eager to work with you to assure that the result is what you expected and more.If you decide to embark on an aquarium adventure, this is the place to go to. It will be right and won't be overpriced. I'm been satisfied, and sometimes that's hard to do.Their aquarium shop built me a 3/4" thick L shaped corner tank.It ended up 41"- 41" back 16" deep and 24" high, a 30"x 16"x 15" sump and a refugium to fit the custom stand that I built. I had been planning in my mind that my next Reef Tank would be bigger than my last which was a 300 gallon. So I decided to go much bigger, an 800 gallon. I had spoke with Fish Tanks Direct a year before on there process and time. So when I was ready I had them build me a 96" wide 48" high and 36" depth tank which turned out beautiful, my own little ocean. Great craftsmanship and support to all of my questions and concerns. I normally don’t partake in writing reviews but, after the experience I had with Fish Tank Direct, I felt it very necessary. I recently purchase 150 gallon tank from the company. Upon arrival, I watched the delivery guy rough handle the tank that was clearly marked fragile. When I finally unwrapped the packaging, I noticed the tank was damaged in the delivery process. Unfortunately, I made the stupid mistake of signing for the item, while not thoroughly inspecting the tank before the delivery guy high tailed it out of sight. In any event, John the guy from Fish tank direct worked tirelessly to resolve the issue with the freight company, fighting on my behalf, even though the responsibility was clearly on me to inspect the tank upon delivery. Fish Tank Direct was no longer under any obligation to go above and beyond, but in the spirit of customer satisfaction, they did! They were able to help resolve the issue, and get me a new tank. From this day forward, I will order all my fish tank needs from Fish Tank direct including the new protein skimmer I plan on purchasing. They have truly earned my customer loyalty. Great service, great products. Thanks Fish Tank Direct for a job well done!P.S. By the way, the second delivery guy was awesome and even assisted me in unpacking and inspecting the tank!Darryl

Very Happy Customer from Ohio!It all started back in July when I purchased a complete 180gal setup here in Ohio at a local aquarium shop, (Tank, Tank Stand, Fluval FX6 x2, and so on and so on $$$) But I was told, had to wait 4weeks for a canopy. Well, fast forward to last month and nothing; Jake to the rescue, to hook me up for a custom matching canopy. Color matched from a few cell phone photos and Boom! A perfect match and even free shipping! Wow! It really makes my 180gal setup look the way it needed! Thanks Jake and Glen for all your work! We received the tank and stand in great condition. It arrived when promised and was exactly as described. (And what we wanted. We had been looking for a tank that would fit in our space and had great difficulty finding one. We had difficulty finding a tank the size and dimensions that would fit in the space we had available. We ran across them and they did a great job. The price was also extremely reasonable. As shown in the picture it fits perfectly and we just need to make the dry habitat or basking area that will fit on top.Great job! Great to do business with!

I ordered a chiller for a bait tank we are building for our resort and received it a month ago. I just unboxed it and found it to be damaged. I called the company and they said they would get back to me. Within an hour I received a callback from the company saying the replacement part will be shipped to me free of charge. Wow! One word to describe my fish tank when I received it from Fish Tank Direct "wow" (which was 4days ago). Matthew and his team is pure amazing. From the first day when I talked to Matthew he made my vision of a (5ft x 5ft on all sides - 2.5ft Tall) tank come to life. I remember him saying "basically you want a mini Jacuzzi in your living room" and thats exactly what they did. On week 3 Scott sent my blueprints for the tank & it was perfect, by week 6 it was at my front door just like Matthew said it was going to be. When it arrived it was in the best condition with zero marks on it. I'm 22 years old and not to many things get excited but this is a win.Thanks Fish Tank Direct.

Someone made a fraudulent purchase on my card from this company. The total was $80.94 Any assistance would be great.Update: The manager John Bielanski was AMAZING at helping me with this situation. He personally contacted me to be sure he could assist with the matter in anyway. They have it where they double check if the shipping address is different from the billing address. When Jake was there, I’ve spent over $15,000. Everything was great the owner John doesn’t care about anybody I bought stuff and it’s missing screws and he has done absolutely nothing I just called he said he’ll give me a $10 credit for a $300 light, worst service available I would never deal with them again and the red C160 power supplies burn out every three months and they do it nothing to warranty them. You have to deal with a Red Sea direct even know when you bought him from them all that guy John does is pass the buck , Jake always took care of everythingYour response is ridiculous. I bought an extra $400 light and an extra 100.00 bracket for it so I would have one in case one of the other ones burned out and the light bracket is missing all of the screws and their made specifically for that light so when I called John the owner, he said he was going to call them at red Sea and get me the stuff that were missing from the kit and after a bunch of calls, he finally had some girl work in there. Tell me he would give me a $10 credit and I can buy my screws somewhere else which you can’t buy their specific for that light bracket it’s not warranty when I bought it it’s missing

Wes was great! My Reefer250 return intake barb broke (catastrophic), so I ordered one late night online. I paid for the 2nd day biz air not thinking about the Labor Day Holiday. I’m not one to do reviews, but have to say the customer service that I experienced with Fish Tanks Direct is absolutely top notch. Jake, Scott, and John you guys are awesome. I ordered a custom tank from these guys, and the communication was phenomenal. They answered any questions I had, and kept me updated even to the point that Scott sent me pics of my tank in their shop when it was done. Even more that John calls me to inform me that my protein skimmer I had ordered had been discontinued, and that he would upgrade me a size larger at the same price. I'm not a fish tank expert- I was just looking for something that could occupy some desk space, look classy, and add a level of sophistication to my home office. I called fish tanks direct and they were able to help me narrow down what types of tanks I should have that were great for beginners, but something I could grow in to.Fast forward- I've got my tank and a few fish and everything has been going, well, swimmingly. People constantly comment not just on the fish I bought, but the look of the tank as well. Everything seems to be holding up, and I suspect my tank will last for a good while.I would definitely use fish tanks direct again.

Jake over at Fish Tanks Direct worked with me on my purchase. Bought three tanks from him. He took the time to go over the benefits of the 2-3 brands I was interested in. At the end of the transaction I settled for Red Sea which gave me the best value for my money. Little more than I wanted to spend, but well worth it. Circled back around and bought quite a bit of accessories and additional equipment needed to get the tanks up and running. Pricing was very fair, service was good, and shipping was quick. Also, their rewards program is pretty stellar and comes in very handy for the last minute items you may need. I'd definitely do business with these guys again!

This is a great small family ran company.I had order a sump wet/dry filter from them due to EBAY seller was unable to ship and cancelled my order. From beginning and plenty of research: placed an order for a tsunami 450 in 3’x6’x4’ was somewhat scary, very large tank and huge investment. Would they get it shipped from FL to OH without damage? Will it be high quality I expect.Team was great walked me through the entire process and updates from order to delivery. Making sure built to my spec needs. It was a long wait but for special order build of this size, to get it right takes time. As for arrival, I expected a challenge and with some special care getting it out of truck and onto the drop gate it went right into garage.In all nearly 600 gallons is up and cycling and looking forward to future reef keeping adventures.Big thanks to Donna on order and Scott on the build for their help and making sure I was very satisfied along the way!

One of the best places online to buy fish tanks. Free shipping, and no tax! The staff here are super nice. I placed an order for a large fish tank with them. They responded to all my emails and phone calls right away and kept me informed on the shipment process. Keep in mind, these are large tanks many of them getting shipped directly by Freight from the manufacturer. It will take a few days to ship out. If you are not sure, give them a call and they will give you an exact time frame. I placed my order on Monday and it got shipped out on Thursday. Took 4 days after that (including weekend) to get here. Tank was well packaged and delivered in perfect shape. Donna was very helpful throughout the process. I'd recommend them to anyone looking for a high-end tank.

It can make you nervous to drop nearly a thousand bucks on a fish tank online. Jake at Fish Tanks Direct emailed me almost immediately to finalize the details after I made the order. He gave me a time estimate for manufacture and informed me what to do when I got my order. There was a manufacturing delay and he kept me informed as to delivery. I got the tank today and I'm very happy with the purchase.
