Great guy! Very knowledgeable I walked in with absolutely no idea how to set up my new 32 gallon biocube, not the slightest idea of where to start. He picked put exactly what I needed and told me how to set it up, answered all my questions and didn't seem a bit bothered by how new I was to saltwater. Most people will take advantage of that and sell you a ton of things you don't even need just to make a profit. I got the sand, rocks, water, test kit and the chemicals necessary the first trip and got my tank set up. I just went back today and was worried my water quality was bad but I was just testing it wrong, he was nice enough to test it for me and answer even more questions which I'm sure can be annoying. He even gave me the hours to set for the lighting that is built into the biocube! Great guy I'll happily stay loyal to his shop. We got snails and Crabs in my tank and he said I can start on fish next week! Very fair pricing as well from what I've compared and he definitely won't steer you wrong and from what I've seen he has a great selection of fish and coral available.

The owner helped us to pick out some fish that are great for starting out. The shop has so much to check out and supporting local shops always feels better. I don’t know a lot about fish, yet, but their costs seemed reasonable. Their fish food and decor is definitely reasonable. They have a lot of salt water options and a good amount of freshwater options available to buyers. Def think it’s worth a stop in.

I have bought several things from this place. The owner looks to have a habit. Also his prices are very high. 3 times I have been in there the owner sits behind the desk and no help. Good thing I know my stuff! There is an older gentleman that works there he is so very very nice. The problem is his frags are old enough to encrusted the plugs with tons of hair algae. I would just love to be able to find an honest shop around here. Please someone give me a good reputable shop or club to trade.

This is the shop to go to!! They are very knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and patient when it comes to me going in there with all my questions. I have little experience with saltwater tanks and coral and they make it easier to understand. The shop was very clean and they had a ton of supplies on hand that we didn’t have to wait for. Top notch service and supplies… A+++

I've bought coral from a few other places and always dipped before placing my coral. I have yet to have one hitchhiker come off coral from this store. The other places I have purchased coral had quite a few critters. I highly recommend shopping here. I've also purchased fish that are still happy and healthy!

Chet and Donna have been great to me and the many people I have brought to their store. I love how every tank is full of beautiful coral and fish. I know that when I buy livestock from them it has been treated like a king and is the healthiest it can be. There is not a store for many miles that has such a great variety, quality and rarity. I will continue to drive 35 miles to their store be it not very often but when I'm there I always leave happy! Keep up the good work guys!

Chet is great and I got the perfect tank to start my new hobby. I usually stop in when I have a problem and he's always great to talk to. Great assortment corals and live rock. The coral reef aquariums he has set up in the store are beautiful! I highly recommend.

Awesome personable shop for saltwater aquaria. I am from out of town and decided to randomly 'sample' the local shops in the area to give a report to my local plant, freshy and salt water fish folks back home in the great white north and this one was awesome. The owner was a delight to speak with, and shared excellent advice and was just overall a great person to speak with. The shop had a great range of fish and other species, and a thoughtful range of equipment for sale.

Owner is very knowledgeable and will not point you in the wrong direction, which will put some people off. What i mean is unless your system has been set up for 6 weeks he will not sell you any fish. Dont take offense he is making sure you are happy and his product survives. There is a lot more to fish than to just sticking them in water. Please take his advice and he has plenty of set up gear to get you started too. Reason for 4 stars is dude is so busy you have to wait literally an hour to get help. Hopefully he might hire some staff to help out.

Absolutely love going here. Drive up from Port Charlotte usually about once a month. Have had nothing but good experiences in the way of products, fish, corals, and great advice. Very reasonable prices as well. And they are pet friendly which is perfect for me since my SD gets a break to just be a dog on the couch. :)

When I first walked into Eco Reef I was in awe of all the amazing tanks and sea life that they had. I must have walked around the store for 45 minutes before I even made my way to the counter. I myself had 2 tanks that were a mess! I had been going to another fish store in Venice and had not only gotten very bad and harmful information about how to care for my tanks, but I had gotten sick fish and coral that contaminated my tanks as well. Neither Chet nor Donna spoke ill of the other store but instead jumped right in to helped me. Even though I had never been in their store before, bought anything from them, and they had nothing to do with my tanks being ill, they were more than willing to help me. They provided me information and advise on how to get my tanks back to health and they offered me their number and told me to call anytime I needed help or had questions. I took them up on that offer, to a point that I felt guilty for constantly calling and texting them, but I'm so thankful I did because now I have 2 tanks that are beautiful and healthy! They truly have a deep love for sea life and they go far above and beyond to help their customers and even those who aren't (or weren't) customers! They have a knowledge of sea life that is priceless but they aren't about making money. I wanted to buy a few things to add to my tanks but they would not sell them to me until my tank was healthy enough. Any other store would have made the sale just to make money but instead they helped me heal my tanks and then I happily bought from them and will continue to from here on out. Their prices are extremely fair, their inventory is second to none, and they are very kind and helpful as well. If you have a love for sea life and you haven't experienced Eco Reef, I suggest you do yourself a favor and go see them. You will walk out of there a dedicated customer and friend! Thank you Chet and Donna for all your help!! I am forever grateful.

Exceptional !!!!! We were on vacation from Maine and stopped in. The store was VERY CLEAN and VERY FUN! The staff is SO helpful and informative. We purchased $400+ worth of inventory and had it shipped to Maine! We will GLADLY pay the shipping on every order! We will never shop anywhere else!

This store was a random stop for me while on vacation in the area . The store was organized and welcoming . The person working who I assume was the owner was very friendly. He spent the time to explain and answer questions from the people I was with's questions ( they are not fish tank people.) He has a very nice selection of appropriately priced corals. It was a plesent suprise on my trip to Venice .

I've been to every fish store from Tampa to Venice and they are by far the best. The coral selection is spectacular, especially their zoanthids. Their tanks and spotless and the fish and corals are some of the healthiest I've ever seen. Everyone in the store was incredibly friendly and helpful. This store is definitely worth going to if you want top quality fish and corals.

Eco Reef Corals is by far the most fascinating and fun aquarium store I have been too. I have been keeping fish for about 40 years! The displays are clean, the fish are healthy and a surprisingly large variety of tank raised animals. Environmentally conscious as well! Thank you Eco Reef Corals!
