The first time when I sent my babies to FOUR PAWS was back in 2020. We were quite impressed with the grooming our babies received. The reason for 2 stars was because recently when we sent our babies to FOUR PAWS for grooming on Feb 13,2021, we were very disappointed when we got back home, took them out from their bags and looked closer at the cuts. It was a pretty bad haircut on one of them. My husband called (they were closed for the day) to see if something could be done. We left a voice message but received no call back or text. We then decided that we will not bring our babies to this place again for grooming. It looked almost like a bowl was placed on his head and it turned out really bad. So maybe others might be happy with the result but I guessed after paying $125.00 for each cats + tip, it is not worth the third future trip. I had to do some trimming just to make it look a bit better.Update: She phoned today - we appreciate her gesture for reaching out.

We take our small dog here for his grooming. They have very friendly service.Prices are reasonable.He always comes back looking and smelling good.They do a really good job on him.

I have been taking our little Eli to this groomer for about 6 months now. We take him monthly. When we first started taking him I was so impressed. The owner, I think it was Billie, was doing the cut and he smelled and looked fantastic. The last 3 times we have taken him we have not been as happy. Someone else at the shop has been doing the grooms. The cuts have been a little uneven, he does not smell like he had a bath and his nails are not cut short enough. I will say they have made it right when I have complained, but I miss the original service and quality I got when I first started going. I will continue taking him here as he seems to like it and they have been friendly, but I hope the quality improves in short time

Very disappointed. The service isn't the same in my recent experience. For years I've enjoyed taking my two dogs to this groomer. The work was great and friendly service. The past two visits, my dogs were returned with less than stellar grooming and questionably bathed. Their care card with instructions was lost and it has not been the same. I called the shop, and the on duty staff was not very helpful. Pay close attention before leaving the shop to ensure the service meets your expectations. Discuss any concerns that very moment. If things don't work out, there are other local groomers that would love to take care of your pet.

Customer service was horrible. Over an hour late and no apologies. Many people left and the front of their building was over run with sand spurs. We ended up pulling many out of our pup. Didn't take our pup in there.

I’m brand new to the area and needed to find a groomer who was willing to accommodate my small rescue dog with fear issues. I walked into a few local shops to ask some questions and Four Paws was the first and only place to impress me.Every time I have been inside, the shop has been quiet and very clean. No yelping dogs, no loud buzzing, just a very calm environment with excellent service. Billie (the owner) was the first groomer I spoke to that day who didn’t seem inconvenienced by my questions. She made a real effort to ask about my dog and what his specific needs might be. It was the only shop I left with the impression that my dog would be well taken care of.Fast forward to this afternoon, I picked Finnegan up after his appointment and was pleased to find out that he did even better than I expected. He wasn’t shaking at all when Billie brought him out and he left with a big smile on his face. I am so so happy with the excellent service and the willingness to go the extra mile to make sure my dog was as comfortable as possible during the process.I’ll be flying my senior dog down here (from WA state) in the next few weeks and if he has a good experience as well, there’s no doubt in my mind I’ll be changing this to a 5 star review. Thanks for the great service!

Had a dog in for shampoo and cut. The cut was fine but fur did not smell clean. I should have smelled shampoo or something clean. Just don't believe there was a shampoo.

I didn't even recognize my little sissy pup when I arrived to pick her up! These ladies are AMAZING in not only the services they provide, but in customer service as well, which is always something I base my opinions on. They gave her a much needed makeover and I cannot wait to see the reaction on my mother's face when she sees her this evening! I love love love this place! I had never taken my baby to a groomer and was pretty scared too but I thought let's give it a try. I have a 4 yr old pomeranian and the moment I got there I felt very welcomed the gal (sorry bad with names) explained to me what she was going to do and would call me when my Hazel was ready to be picked up. The owner called and asked me what kind of cut I wanted for her and I described a lion cut and was really specific on what not to touch. When I arrived I was so in love with my baby girl and she was so happy to see me too. When we got home she was so happy and excited that I had to call the shop to thank them one more time! The ladies are very friendly and caring! If your a first timer or haven't found the right groomer this place is definitely the one to go to! It's been about 2 wks and she still smells so good! I can't wait to bring Hazel back again!Thank you Four Paws for taking such good care of my Hazel!

They did just an okay job. My dog still smelled kinda dirty. I gave it a bath a couple days later and it's coat was shiny and smelled/looked cleaner than it did after leaving the groomer. So if I can do a better bathing job, I'll definitely be looking at other groomers in the area. The hair cut and nail trim were fine.

Had both my Shiztzu's bathed and clipped here. 1 dog needed a touch up and Billie fit the dog in quickly. They do a great job, not only with grooming but their kennel service's are excellent. I never worry about my babies when I leave for vacation.

REVISED-Part 2: I got a call from the main business owner who apologized profusely and said they were going to do some intensive customer-relations training with their employees. He even offered to personally come pick up my dog, groom him, and return him home FREE. I truly appreciated his call and effort to "do right" by the customer. I declined his offer, though, as I had already made other arrangements for my dog. He then told me the next two groomings would be free should I decide to come back to Four Paws. While I appreciate the service offers, I was most satisfied simply by his calling and sincerely trying to make amends.REVISED: The local owner did call me later this morning to apologize and explain the situation with her employee. I do appreciate her effort and have amended my rating.------I had made an appointment for my husband to drop off our dog at 7:30 a.m. on his way to work. No one was at Four Paws. After waiting 10 minutes, my husband called me to come meet him and pick up the dog because he's already late to work. It's a 15-min. drive so I get there about 7:55 and there's still no one there...except for a couple more customers waiting with their dogs. I get back home around 8:15 and within 10 minutes I get a call from an employee at Four Paws asking me if I could bring my dog back in. No explanation, NO APOLOGY. NOTHING! Let's see...my husband was 30 minutes late to work and I already wasted my gas and time driving to and from this place...for nothing! And they had the gall to ask me to come back?

Went in there to have my 4 month old pup and 1 year old dogs nails trimmed. I stressed it was her first experience and to play it safe and not go to short. First nail she did my dog was gushing blood. Then got 2 more. Lets not forget she did them on the floor and not even on a stand or counter. Then(like an idiot) i let her do my other dogs nails and immedietly blood everywhere. My poor dogs were traumatized. Then not even an apology or anything. We were charged full price and the worst part is, they were sharper than before. If you care about your dogs in the slightest, drive the extra 20 minutes to dogs-r-us in FWB and have professionals take care if your pups.

We’ve taken our Australian Shepherd here twice now and both times we left extremely satisfied. Our sweet Macie was traumatized by a vet visit in the area upon moving here and as a result has severe anxiety when we leave her. She is also a little “prissy” when it comes to her paws and nails being messed with. The women at Four Paws were very patient and understanding with our girl and did an amazing job getting her all cleaned up for us. Very friendly staff. We will continue to take her to Four Paws in the future.

I took my year old husky to this place. He had never been groomed before. I explained this to them and also explained he has severe separation anxiety. They told me he would be ready by 10am when I dropped him off earlier that morning. When I arrived, before I could even say anything they asked whom I was and which animal I was picking up. I told them, and they immediately said "he was horrible. You should have told us about him. He marked everywhere and cried. We've never had a dog so bad." After having him there almost two hours they never even bathed him. All they could do was "trim his nails" and that he was just horrible. We had him trained as a search and rescue dog. He is trained in Getman commands and had never acted as they claimed, however I can understand that being trained in German could present communication problems. We've left him with numerous friends if we had to travel, or at our vets. We had never been told of such offenses by anyone. When he came home he wouldn't look at us. He wouldn't eat for almost two days. We took him to the vet and the vet asked us abot his nose being raw and we had not noticed until they said something. He also became violently ill and vomited and had severe diarrhea the next following 48 hours. Do not take your pets there. Very unprofessional and rude. I may never know what actually happened. And if my dog had truly behaved so badly then why did no one contact me? I was charged full price when only one service was provided. Waste of money.

We have 2 shih tzu mixes & 1 mini schnauzer that we have gotten groomed there several times. They do a great job with each of our dogs & we're happy with the service. It's also very convenient to drop off the dogs in the morning & pick up on my way home from work. At our old groomers, it was difficult to get appointments for all 3 dogs together. We gave this Four Paws in ValP a try & have been happily going back since.

I have a 6mnth pup. I took her into today for her nails and a bath. First impression, was not that great. So i was worried the whole time she was there. Only one women was nice the other two very rude and dragged my pup across the floor. Knowing she was new to this whole experince. Come back her collar was all cut up ( no explaination is to what happened) and she was thirsty as can be thankfully i brought water with me for her. NEVER AGAIN.

I just picked up my 2 dogs plus my sisters 2 dogs and they all look amazing! Im able got drop them off early and Im called once their ready for pickup. The service Ive always received there is outstanding, and both the women there are very professional and kind ( considering the changes made on their cuts constantly... long ears,short ears, trim,cut short etc. Im surprised they don't lock me out!) Instead Im greeted with a smile and they help me load the dogs up during pickup. Ive been going to valparaiso for a long time..at least 4 years now and always had good results, Ive read the other reviews and shocked that anyone could say anything bad. Im very picky about who grooms my pups and Four Paws has won my vote. There are groomers and bathers within a mile of my home but Ill drive 10 miles to the beautiful ladies at Four Paws because I know they'll take good care of my pups. Please remember that when they ask you what you'd like done to your pup, tell them because they can't read your mind...or can they? At times I forget to tell them something yet my dogs always look fantastic. Their great people and really do care about how your dog looks and values your opinion.Thanks Four Paws for the great service and a job extremely well done.

I took my 50 lb ball of crazy here today. I was asked to pick him up early, which I anticipated. When I arrived to get him he was freshly washed and his nails were trimmed but were super rough and jagged, but I have a feeling they couldn't get him still enough to smooth them out. He was shedding fur like crazy when I picked him up though so I don't think he was brushed. He has lots of energy, so for how hyper he is I feel like they did what they could. The one thing I really don't like about this place is that a few hours after we got home I noticed he had a pretty big cut on his head by his ear. If they had just said "hey, we're really sorry but we accidentally cut him, he was just moving around a lot" I would have totally understood, but they didn't mention it and weren't up front with me. So for that reason, we won't be going back.
