Stopped in here for some fish. The proprietor was excellent and took the time to explain the whole menu to us. Their lobster is from Maine (cold water).We had the Crab Cake Roll, and it was incredibly tasty. Ate on the patio overlooking the boats, and had a wonderful time.

A perfect spot for a quick lunch. They have delicious rolls that come with potato chips. I really enjoyed the shrimp roll, but the shrimps kept falling out. My friend had the Casa Mar Roll with the catch of the day (Mahi Mahi when we visited) and that was also delicious without the spillage.Right off the Overseas Hwy, there is usually plenty of parking in the center. The dining areas are in a hut and right by the waterfront.The restroom is shared between all the shops in the area and is located 2 stores over.

Outstanding lunch stop!Delicious fresh seafood rolls (sandwiches) - we had a Casa Mar (local catch) and a calamari roll. Flavorful and tender! The rolls were grilled to perfection.The owner was welcoming and so helpful. The small venue with outside seating only overlooking the canal was very pleasant. Highly recommend!

Food was delicious! Casa Mar Roll was flavorful and fresh. The owner has been here for 8 years and was friendly and helpful.This place would be packed if it was in a more touristy location but it was nice to get away from crowds and be by the water.

Simplicity at its best! Cool spot with outdoor seating (covered, so no worries if it's rainy), friendly staff, and fresh fish. Pretty view, too!We tried today's fresh catch, which was mahi - it was a grilled fish paired with tasty coleslaw and crunchy fries. Simple, but so, so, so good. There's no need to go crazy when you have amazing ingredients. We are not staying long in the area, but we might come back again.Gluten free situation: ask to be sure, but a plate or a taco should be fine.

Fantastic food, phenomenal service!The owner enthusiastically talked us through the menu, gave us lots of options, and even showed us what we could look forward to as he was running food from the kitchen to tables.Highly recommend and can’t wait to go back!

What the Fish - best place to eat near key largo. A the hidden gem. The owner has the best costumer service I’ve ever seen. He explained the menu in detail and was passionate the entire time about the food. He recommended many things and we were super satisfied with the meal. Amazing food. We loved it so much we came back the next day. The fish tacos and shrimp tacos are awesome!!!!! The chicken tacos and chicken roll were great. The fish ceviche was one of the best. They do great conch as well. I miss this place already, I want to go back it’s that good.Mar Bar - Food was great, had the fish tacos and chicken tacos. Owner is the friendliest person and he explained the menu in detail.

Excellent lobster and tacos, fresh and made to order.The ‘nachos and cheese’ were less than to be desired. It was basically plain generic Santitas chips and a couple morsels of sprinkled in cheese and a few tomatoes and a Dixie cup of salsa. Not worth the money. Stick to the wraps and tacos.

This place is great. The fish tacos are perfectly seasoned and their coleslaw has a unique, delicious flavour. Service is super friendly and there is nice seating overlooking the canal.

Came here after a long day on the boat. Very hungry, and the food was highly recommended. Parking was easy to find as we were in between meal times. Menu was explained to us by a very knowledgeable person. We would recommend this place purely based on the service and upbeat pleasant persona of this person. We ordered crab cake roll and a shrimp room. Bithwr were good, but the buns/roll it was served in was fantastic. Simple fresh food. Beer and wines are available along with a variety of sodas. Food Came quick and we enjoyed a pleasant meal outside.

Beautiful fish restaurant on the water with incredible fresh food.Came last year so wanted to try again. We had the catch of the day ceviche and roll to share, the lady that served us was very friendly, the atmosphere sat next to the water very relaxed.The best ceviche of our trip so far.

INCREDIBLE! The service was so fast and efficient. I placed an over the phone take out order and the associate who took my order and had the food ready when I arrived was so friendly, helpful, and professional. Our food was very fresh and so delicious. The avocado on the shrimp roll was such a nice addition and the crab was deliciously flavorful. I cannot wait to go back!

You can't go wrong with fresh catch! And their conch fritters, fries, and coleslaw are delicious too. We had a wonderful experience, the staff was very friendly and we had a beautiful view of the water and lots of entertainment from the local fish! Everytime we visit the keys (or even just within a couple hours away) this is a must stop for us.

This place was definitely worth coming to! The guy who was working explained the menu to us before ordering, very personable & helpful. The crab cake roll was delicious with so many flavors! The calamari was the best calamari i’ve had, fresh & lightly breaded. Would highly recommend!Kid-friendliness: Has a large outside area with secluded seating.

Stopped here after finding this gem of a place on Google maps. The gentleman behind the counter was super friendly and very informative of the menu. It did not disappoint as the mahi roll and shrimp roll were incredible. I had the calamari roll as well as the chips and salsa and everything was wonderful. We will definitely be coming back here!

Loved this little spot! We got their fresh catch and crab cake roll. Both were served hot, fresh, and fast. The views are on the water and the staff was super kind. (Thanks KeKe!) definitely recommend a lunch stop here!

The lobster roll is insane!!! If you’re eating anywhere in Islamorada (or anywhere near for that matter) you’ve GOT to come here. The service is unmatched, they’re so kind and willing to help with anything, plus the cooking is not only insanely savory and flavorful but it’s flavors I can only find here! Definitely coming back whenever I have the chance.We also tried the ceviche, the fried fish, and the calamari. Every dish is 10/10. SO happy!

This was a fun little place tucked between shops on the docks overlooking the water. Outdoor casual seating only. The fish rolls are excellent, fresh catch of the day on a garlicky roll. You can get beers and cocktails in bottles or cans. Alexandro is eager to make everything perfect. Service is the best we've had on the trip. I highly recommend What the Fish.

Ok - so I’m tough to please - but this… this is phenomenal. As a person who usually likes fine dining because it’s typically quality controlled - I can say that this is on the level - if not better. I am from an urban area on the east coast and I hateee dive bar food. This place was amazingly fresh, and the taste of the food was impeccable. There wasn’t one bad dish and we almost ordered the whole menu. We will make this a staple on our trips to and from the Key West.To the owner - Thanks for accommodating my little family and my kids who were just running all around your restaurant. My Guatemalan mother in law loved it there.

This place was recommended highly by others and well reviewed on Google. It was a good place for us to visit once, but not worth a second visit. The person taking our orders was very rude, but then ended up being the person who served us also, and was very polite. Maybe a long day! We ordered the shrimp ceviche, which was very disappointing. By no means was it bad, but it was very minimal with minimal flavors. I ordered the shrimp roll. This ended up being the shrimp ceviche, in a roll. Had some good flavors, but pretty small. Came with a side of potato chips. My wife ordered the crab roll. The description says it comes with lump crab meat, but it came with a crab mixture that was interesting to say the least. Unfortunately my wife wasn't happy with it. I wasn't too impressed either. At the end of the day, the food was decent. Like I said though, we wouldn't visit again.

My wife and I walked over after kayaking with Paddle the Florida Keys, and to our surprise it was situated perfectly on the water with just enough seating. The breeze was nice but the lobster roll and ceviche were top notch. You get what you pay for in location, quality, and quantity. Don't miss out if you are in the keys.Parking: Parking can be difficult to find on the street or near the restaurant especially in the middle of the day when people are renting kayaks and paddle boards nearby.
