Super clean and organized. Lots of choices and good prices. Fish tanks very clean and fish look healthy. Lacking in customer service. Employee who passed us several times while we shopped never once acknowledged us or asked if we needed help. Otherwise would have rated higher.

Carlos is hands down the best employee. His customer service treatment and overall knowledge is second to none. I am always so satisfied when being helped by him. This Petco can count on my loyal business with them.

Love that I can get in & out with ease when shopping for pet essentials. Yet, I only shop here when I'm in the area. While the customer service is top-rated by me their selection for rabbit/chicken feed is very low. They do have a great deal on mealworms.

I think it just absolutely ridiculous that we patronize your store keep you in business by buying items and in return we have to pay .10 for a bag to hold our items. This is really desperate and incredibly inconsiderate and I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere where I don’t have to buy a product and the bag to hold it. The cost of living is rising for everyone but have some decency. AND I DON’T CARE THAT IT JUST .10 EVERY PENNY COUNTS!!!

Completely unable to answer a simple question! The website states check with the store for availability. I call the nearest store. The automated answering system states 1 for grooming, 2 for directions, and 3 for customer service. I press 3 and wait nearly 7 minutes. The groomer answers! He states he cannot help me and he will transfer me. He hangs up on me! I call again and wait as the automated system says I can do instead of choosing 3. The automated system eventually says it will transfer my call. It then hangs up on me! I call again. I hit 3 for customer service. I wait again for more than 5 minutes! A different person answers and states that I have reached grooming and they offer to transfer me. I have now been on hold for the entire time it has taken to write this review and no answer. I think they do not want to sell me anything! I think I will NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM PETCO again!

Storefront is clean and tidy but they really need to check their staff. The manager Leah became irate with me after I informed one of her employees they were neglecting the needs of a ball python. The following all begins because I informed an employee at the register that the snake was showing signs of neglect/abuse because the humidity was too low and it looked like it needed help. The animal showed full signs of dehydration (sunken eyes, dry and wrinkled skin) and the tank’s humidity read 50% (the lowest acceptable reading) The poor things skin was in pieces as it was trying to shed. You should really raise it to 75-85% when in a shed but this information was ignored. When Leah came over by the tank she claimed this was normal shedding behavior and the bedding retained moisture… that they misted frequently (this somehow negates the gauges in its tank by her logic) and the humidity gauge was to be ignored. While yes this is true the bedding will hold some moisture what’s the point of the gauge if not to double check that it’s high enough. She also made some claim about mites and humidity… I missed what she was saying because I am hard at hearing (this becomes relevant). After that I went to move to the front of the store to check out and she went back into her office. Once I made it up front the sow couldn’t wait but a second and then came back out yelling at me that I needed to stop because I was speaking with my father about how they were going to kill the snake (which dehydration and neglect can cause) and apparently shouting. My father and I are hard of hearing so being told we’re being too loud is nothing new but she addressed a disability in an unacceptable manner. I probably did have my voice raised when I replied to her voluminous moos.But not intentionally or maliciously as I often speak too loudly with no intent. But this woman intentionally misinformed and lied to me in front of a visibly neglected animals tank and proceeded to holler at me in the middle of the store near check out due to conversation volume between my father and I which stated we’re both almost deaf. She asked if my snakes always shed in one piece which yes because they’re supposed to if kept properly. I’ve contacted corporate and will go from there.If you’re into being mistreated and lied to by misinformed managers with no clue what their animals actually require shop here it’s a miserable experience.

Always an awesome experience!! I got to play with the cats and kittens today! They have them available for adoption. We go there to get food for all of our animals because we have so many and it’s cheaper when you are buying that much food, but also better for your pets.

I didn't have a problem at all. I came in on Saturday and my bird passed Saturday night or Sunday morning and I called on Sunday, and everything was understandable and they told me to come in for another one on Monday...

Do NOT buy hamsters from here.I was sold a young male syrian hamster on 4/3, he was dead before midnight on 4/4 from wet tail. I did return him and get a refund, and they said they had a female syrian who was healthy. I took her home, named her Fawn, absolutely loved her, and then lost her within 5 days. I suspected wet tail again. Petco did give her medication when I brought her in the day before she died, but said they thought she was fine. I do appreciate the staff who gave her medication. I got up every 2 hours to syringe feed her and give her water. She died at 7:15am while my boyfriend was holding her. I returned her to the store where they said they had 2 in the back who were sick, but they still had hamsters on the floor for sale. I had to watch 2 babies die because they are selling sick animals. I could not be more heartbroken.

Had an amazing experience here yesterday, the water specialist helped immensely and was so sweet and patient!! He got the moneywort plants I was after for me and rung them up immediately ☺️

The cashier (Quincy, I think was her name) was very helpful helping me find the cleaning product I was looking for. She was familiar with it and showed me right where it was located. We talked about the online product (a larger size) which was not available in the store.

Went for grooming service. People are really nice. Howey, the price posted on the sign went from 20$ to 30 because of dog size. (Medium short hair) then to 40$ because of the material fee!! Shampoo they use to wash dogs. Really. Then tried to charge for services didn't get. Thankfully they didn't give me a hassle on refunding the extra charges. Later I realized they cut my dogs nails too short! This causes dogs pain and makes it harder to cut and care for their nails. The store itself is extremely pet friendly and the staff was really nice. The grooming service will send you a text everyday leading up to your appointment, just so you can expect it.

It's too pricey. Their greenies dog treats were 3.00 more than Walmart for the same size bag. So many more people would shop there if their prices were more economical. Same toys at Bealls for 3-6 dollars less than Petco.

I usually only go in-store for emergency purchases or to pick up food if I’m behind on delivery. The associates are nice. This location seems to be out of stock of a lot of items. Store looks somewhat empty.

I love how many choices they have for food/litter; good to see a company embracing environmentally-conscious products. Started using this litter (pictured below) to save money and reduce plastic waste; very satisfied with its quality great decision!

I took my dog to be groomed here a few weeks ago - he has never had an issue with any groomers we’ve gone to in the past, including another petco across town. We were checked in by one groomer, and she started his nail trim. Shortly after she started, another groomer walked up close and started talking to my dog during his nail trim, and he did not react well to her. He growled at her and would not allow them to continue his trim. They had to stop his service and asked me to come back later another time. I left confused and embarrassed, as he had never reacted poorly in any grooming situation.I returned today and the groomer he did not like the first time we visited was working - she flat refused to service him. She said I should take him back to our previous petco location across town and disagreed when I said they had offered to see him again at a later date. I took him back to our old petco 20 minutes away across town and they were happy to see him again and got his nail trim done quickly and with zero issues. Here’s a photo of him with the FRIENDLY and PROFESSIONAL team on the north side of town. We won’t be back to Gov Square, even for supplies.
