Got my puppy from H.A.L.O. And was amazed at the facility and how well they care for pets. They provided us with vital care information and kept up with her vaccinations and treatment. They followed up after adoption to make sure she was adjusting well. Can't thank them enough for bringing happiness to my home

Halo and Sebastian it's a no kill rescue shelter for dogs and cats lizards rabbits small birds and actually have all kinds of animals. It looks as they've done a whole revamping of their showroom for their cats and the dogs are still on the back. They do have a very confident staff. If you're looking for a crate for one of your animals, they do have a whole display of donated crates that are up front and they're building for a very reasonable prices. They're boarding I think is a little expensive. It's $30 a day and it's per animal.

I would highly not recommend adopting from this shelter. They accused me of not having money to buy heart worm prevention for a dog that I had for 11 years. Funny thing is I was going to a breeder to buy a puppy for 3500 and I happen to be told about a dog they had there and decided to adopt that one. So their assumption of no money was inaccurate. As far as I’m concerned the two dogs I looked at, were absolutely filthy and covered in pee. The one looked like it already had worms. As for that fact, I was covered in filth from these animals and asked to clean up before I left. I walked back into where the cats were located at and it was absolutely disgusting! Looks like the floor hasn’t been cleaned in weeks. If you put in an application for adoption I would highly suggest give them as little information as possible. And as far as I’m concerned, they are a money hungry organization! They knowingly know they aren’t going to let you adopt the dog and take your money!

I got my dog from halo in April of 2023, it was an okay experience (dealing with the staff and adoption process), I did think they took it to a bit of an extreme but I shook it off. I decided a few months after that I was comfortable and would like to get a second dog. I returned to halo and met a few of the animals. i fell in love with one and decided to apply for this animal . a few days later i got a call that i had been declined . they said i was unfit to care for this animal and they didn’t think he would be treated properly/safe at my home. this shocked me as they had just approved me to have a dog not even 6 months before that. When i met a few of the dogs my heart broke . they smelt like that had never had a bath and were very timid . i don’t know what goes on behind closed doors but it doesn’t look good from the outside . There are tons of dogs that have been there for a very long time and now i see why. People are applying to adopt these animals , giving a down payment , then getting rejected for stupid reasons . like i said my heart is breaking for these poor animals. i would say don’t adopt from here but these dogs having a good life is way more important then that. just good luck getting approved if you do!

I am an ex employee of Halo. At the time of my interview I opened up about my medical history. I was told it wouldn't be a problem as seeing I'm being treated for seizure. Last night after shift I ended up in the emergency room. I provided all documentation to staff. I was told I was cleared to come back for my shift tomorrow. About 30mins passed and was sent my old criminal records which I was never charged for any of the cases they did not care to see all my documents and was told I was finished as an employee for them. Anyone looking for a job don't apply here.

This place is incredible. I met my perfect dog here and was able to take him home a few days later. Absolutely everyone on the staff was so helpful and sweet through the entire process. I’ve never had a dog before and they were so patient with me and answered all of my questions. My dog was heartworm positive and they took care of all his treatment until he was cleared. They also sell tons of dog stuff that has been donated, some of it is brand new, at very low prices and I love knowing the money spent is supporting the shelter. Halo will always have a special place in my heart. Thank you Halo and all of the staff for uniting me with my sweet boy!! My life is forever changed! ♥️🐾

I rescued a dog though them several years ago. Their procedure makes sure you are worthy. I passed and Ricco is a fantastic, loving companion. I will definitely try my future pet there again.

Don't bother attempting or filling a application for getting a dog here, they turn my friend who is a 75 year old air force veteran. He tried to get a 7 year old deaf senior dog who is small, and their excuse was this dog does not get along with other dogs. So if it doesn't get along with one dog., imagine how it does in a shelter or foster home with many dogs. Even though this dog is deaf, it can still smell and that is a more stressful environment for a dog in a shelter than being in a safe home. Also on their biography for the dog, no where it says in the the dogs is not good with other dogs. So I guess moral of the story for this shelter, all dog should stay at the shelter than a loving home. Also HALO when you read this, my friend spent enough money on his last dog that it was cost of a new car. Shame on you people for judging. Not your place, only god's.UPDATE! AFTER these few months judging my friend for his age and won't adopt a dog for him for that. HALO has the audacity to send and ask for a donation in the mail today. YES I HAVE PROOF. GREED IS A SIN. MONEY HUNGRY RESCUSE. NO SHAME. ALL ABOUT MONEY. NOT ABOUT THE ANIMALS.

I love H.A.L.O.! We got our Burmese/SnoeShoe mix, Randal Graves, from them. They said he was 1-2 years old, but my dad (who graduated UM in 1969 as a DVM) looked at his teeth and said he's more like 7-10 years old. BUT he's AWESOME and we love him so much. He is the social butterfly out of our animals. The welcome wagon to all new friends. And old.

I wish they had 10 stars. Brought a stray kitten in and the next day decided I wanted to keep her. At first they were hesitant 'cause she wasn't checked. Came back 2 days later and said she wasn't microchiped and didn't belong to anyone and they surrendered her back to me...now I have a very active happy kitten. I am also going to volunteer at the animal shelter here in town cause these shelter animals need a lot of love 'til they get adopted

We just got a little kitten today from this place and I can say that Pam Kelly Jan and Dean were super nice and helpful to my husband and I. You could tell they loved all the cats from the youngest to the oldest. The place was super clean and set up to be a 5 star hotel for them compared to other places in different states I've seen. I highly recommend it.❤️

This place is incredible I adopted Munchkin many years ago and unfortunately she passed but will never forget the great care she had at Halo she stayed there for years until she found us. Every weekend we go to Walmart and drop off what HALO requests in there sign out front. Everyone should support this great place. There’s not one person that works there with out a heart of gold.
