I went here with my 9 year old daughter yesterday to get hermit crabs because my ex got our daughter one a few days ago and it was not properly set up. Stacey was very knowledgeable and helped ensure we had all the necessary habitat needs. The store was busy as it was a Saturday and we were not rushed. Thank you Stacey!!!! 💜💜💜

Went in for aquarium supplies. Waited in the aquarium department for half an hour. Nobody there to help me get anything. No one to greet, no one at the cash out desk, complete waste of time. I will stick with Seascapes.

She was well taken care of and is a baby guinea pig.Edit: Luna has since passed and we haven't been back to get anymore animals. They were very nice there when we picked her up however.

I am leaving this review specifically about an excellent, helpful, professional, and friendly employee named Jalyn. She saved me so much money on my last Petco purchase by using price-matching and also showed me and advised me on how to do it, it was unbelievable! Nobody in any store I’ve ever gone to, pet store or not, has ever shown me price-matching. My purchase would have initially cost me between $30-$40, but because she price-matched my purchase with what it would cost me if I had bought the items online, it literally cost me just under $20! She needs to be given a raise or promoted or both as she is adding massive value to the company with her great, friendly personality as well as her knowledge of price-matching which is something that a customer doesn’t even think about. Thank you again, Jalyn! I will be using price-matching here at Petco from here on out!

They always do a great job grooming and she loves the groomers. Purchased some Gators gear and a chew toy. Gotta spoil my Girl! Tip: scheduling a grooming appt can be a long wait...so don't wait.

Our goldendoodle remains well brushed so we don’t get matting, and our normal groomer was booked so I had no choice but to book him at Petco. WORST mistake. When I picked him up they demanded $141 and told me “just to let you know he’s shaven down to the skin”. Made me pay before I even got to see him. Additional charges were added on as well. When they brought him out I didn’t even recognize him. He had a gorgeous coat and needed a trim and this is how he looks now. He has also refused to eat since coming home and seems very scared (he’s never refused a meal before). He’s also not stopped itching and biting himself since we got home. We never discussed shaving him down and even provided a reference photo. DO NOT use Petco grooming, I’ll continue to support local, even if we have to wait months to get in

Great location near UTC mall. Parking can be an issue at peak times. Store is clean and well organized. Veterinarian services available in store. Prices are competitive with great selection of foods, toys, etc for many types of pets, including fish and reptiles.

It was a very pleasant experience with Petco who took back an opened bag of cat food because our cat was unable to adjust to the new food, she was vomiting almost every day, had diarrhea and started going to the toilet outside the litter box. Although we tried to gradually switch her to a new food, unfortunately it did not work out... we received a full refund for this open bag. Thank you Petko for the good customer service!

Absolutely the worst dog grooming ever. I only made an appointment here because my normal groomer was booked too far out and my Asssiedoodle was overgrown. Do not bring your dog here ever. They had my dog there for 7 hours. Probably because they were afraid to have us see him. $120 later and my poor dog looks like this. The attached Pictures with the purple bandana is what he should look like after a proper grooming. The pictures without the bandana is what Petco did to him. He is a doodle, he should have fluffy ears, face hair and a flag tail. ... Never again.

I managed to get an appointment. and just because my but. has. diabetes they didn't want me. attend. I am very disappointed in him. Same service with the vet. Very unhappy, not specifically with this location just Petco in general. There are worms in my dogs food. And their response is "oh those are just moth worms, no big deal". It is a BIG deal. In my 35 years of owning dogs I have NEVER had worms in my dogs food. No I am sorry when I call Petco corp no nothing. Blue Buffalo tells me it is Petco's fault not theirs. I am just disgusted!!!!!!!

I’ve always came to this location for Royal Canin for my Poodle! A WEEK ago I was here let the cashier know it’s on sale, tried to show him the picture below..got a nasty attitude I have to go look. Comes back with sales sticker And correct the amount.

I booked a vet appt and got a price quote, the day of appt I confirmed the price, lugged all 4 pups in only to be told it was going to cost $200 more! NEVER using Petco or Vetco again!

I went to the Petco at the UTC mall. The assistant manager, Jonathan, went beyond the call of duty. He was so helpful trying to help me find the right food for my dog who has all these types of allergies. There was only one can left of the dog food I decided to get. I told him that wanted to buy 12 cans and use the promotion code that ended today. He offered to help me order it online and have it shipped delivered to my house at no cost. He was professional, had a great attitude and helpful. Nowadays, it’s so rare to get great customer service, that’s been my experience lately. This is why I’m taking my time to write this review.

The grooming department is the worst. My dog doesn’t even look like they did anything, nails half cut, ask to have her face cleaned up which means trim some, ask that the butt area be trimmed up, that wasn’t done, and asked them to clean the hair out of the ears that wasn’t done either. Charged me an extra $15 because he hair his long and I asked them to trim. I do not recommend them at all

They actually charge for the cheap plastic bags to carry out your purchase with. Like they aren’t making enough off your purchase. You say you’re doing this to help the impact on our planet. . . Then why don’t you offer a discount, say 10 cents per bag needed if the customer brings their own bag?? That way you aren’t making an extra profit off the customers, your rewarding for making a difference on the impact on our planet.

We purchased a new leash for our italian greyhound and it's amazing. Although we also purchased a occupy chew that did not hold up to its name. It was not a hard long lasting chew at all. But was very soft and only lasted a few minutes, we were rather disappointed buy it

Horrible experience at the groomers! Decided to try Petco for the first time for our 10 month old golden doodle. Big mistake! When I got her back 5 hrs later she was unrecognizable, they shaved her down all the way to the lowest setting. She looked horrible and she was super anxious/ scared. I’ve never experienced that with my typical groomer. They didn’t even bother to shape her tail, or even her nails, they gave her a mullet facial haircut????!!! I requested the teddy bear look since that is what we usually went with. So upset, we will never use petco for grooming services ever again!

Great deals on all sorts of stuff for me from cat litter to Quiet Moments for my dogs & dog toys. I wish they had a store in The Ruskin area instead I have to go to Bradenton because that's the closest store to me!
