Was my Aussie groomed or abused?I brought my sweet, gentle, miniature Aussie, Bindi to Kelly's Pet Grooming, 6579 Gateway Avenue last week.Her fur was thick and long, but not tangled or matted because she is brushed nightly. I requested a teddy bear cutwith a powder puff tail. When I returned to get her I did not even recognize her. She had been totally shaved.She has multiple razor burns on her back and neck, blood oozing from her nipples, several nicks and cuts underher tail area.I can only imagine her terror as the clippers came toward her face. She was also shaved around her eyes and mouth. Why?Why would anyone do this to a dog?She was traumatized. After returning home she just laid on the floor softly moaning. For over two days, she onlymoved to go outside to relieve herself.I am sure she does not understand why, after devoting herself to us for 11 years, I left her to be treated like that.I will never forgive myself for taking her there, but I hope Bindi will forgive me for doing so.

We have been using Kelly’s Pet Grooming for a while now, and they do great cuts on our miniature goldendoodle. They even provide a mobile service. This is extremely convenient because we have a little one. But the staff is super friendly and a joy to work with. Kali just got a perfect summer cut!

I have been taking my cats & dogs to Kelly & her staff/family for 24 yearsIt seems like every visit is better. Grooming two Standard Poodles has to be a challenge but they make them so Beautiful.I have also taken some difficult cats.This family is always cheerful & positiveThey also come to my home& if I drop them off its only for a couple hours.My dogs pull me in the door they love to go.Price is way more reasonable than anywhere else.Marsha Menard

Kelly and Meg have been grooming our 3 chihuahuas for the past year or so after our groomer retired. Being nervous about changing groomers after 23 years was difficult. Meg and Kelly really made us feel comfortable. they come to your home. They are always on time. Their mobile grooming van is spotless and they genuinely care about our dogs. Check them out. You won’t be sorry

Our first experience with Kelly couldn’t have been better. We’ve been looking for a local groomer for a while and we feel lucky to have found her. The staff is caring and excellent, they work fast and gave our Bubba an awesome grooming. We felt absolutely comfortable having our little one in their care. Kelly’s groomers always do a good job on my three terriers. They are friendly and quick! They also make it easy to get in and out of the small storefront by assisting the dogs get in and out of the car. I’m very happy with their services!

Kelly is great and affordable! She's one of the only places in Sarasota to groom cats. She was able to see my kitty the next day and did exactly what I asked for and my cat seemed calm and happy when I picked her up. It only took 30 minutes too which worked great with my busy schedule. I definitely recommend! I will be going back there again!

I take my standard poodle to Kelly's to get groomed and every time the service is awesome! my dog comes home nicely groomed and smelling so nice! the one problem I have is the owners daughter, the last time we took him to get groomed we picked him and he had a #2 puppy cut when we get him the #1 and he looked terrible! his hair was uneven in certain places and one ear was clean and the other was still full of wax and hair! we asked what happened and the daughter made some excuse as to why she gave him the #2. Other than that Kelly's is a great place to get your pooch groomed! just ask for the owner not the daughter because Kelly takes time to get ALL the knots out and always make sure her customers are happy. The daughter must of wanted to get out of there so that's why she rushed and screwed up my dogs cut.May 11, 2018: I am officially done with this grooming salon! My dog was recently groomed and since then he has not stopped shaking his ears! At first we thought maybe he had some water in his ears but then over the the course of a few days he developed hard scabs at the end of his ears as well as raw sores inside his ears. I don’t recommend this groomer at all. For now on I will be grooming my dog at home.

Nov, two years ago my dog was cut in five different places. The areas got infected. My vet said the tools were probably dirty and that this was absolutely their fault. They said they were more than happy to speak with the owner regarding this and my bill. Kelly was extremely rude and unprofessional yelling over the phone after several tries to contact her. Finally She said if I brought my bill in she would call the vet and refund me but she was not true to her word and never did either. My dog had to wear a cone and take antibiotics for a month. He couldn’t sleep or eat and was heavily sedated because of the pain. I Have a witness that the person who cut my dog, literally, was out drinking “heavily” the night before. Maybe that’s a direct result of the carelessness. Unprofessional is an understatement.

I called and spoke with Kelly who gave me a same day appointment to groom my cat. Unfortunately my cat had some matted hair. Kelly efficiently took car of the matted hair and did a great job grooming my cat. I will definitely be a returning satisfied customer. Thanks again Kelly!!

I had my 2 pugs receive mobile pet grooming from this company today. I was very satisfied with the service I received. They were prompt and on time, and it did not take them long to wash, cut, and trim my pugs. They were affordable compared to other quotes I got. The dogs seem very happy now. Thank you!

The first time we went thing seemed fine even though we got a rude vibe from the staff. So we continued to visit because it was reasonably priced and seemed like the dogs were taken care of. However the last two times our dogs seemed to be scared and quite shook up after their visits. We didn't know what was wrong and we didn't know what to look for the problem. We have recently switched to a new groomer who is amazing and I can truly can tell she is experienced and cares for the animals. She did find that several things have been neglected with both our dogs not just for a month or two but seemingly since we first started with Kelly's grooming. She had been lazy and neglected their ears as the hair was so long that it caused an ear infection. She also didn't cut the nails on them so they grew so long that they cut holes into the paw. The padding under the paw was also matted with hair. The new groomer informed us that someone in the past had tried to cut the hair under the paw but hurt my dogs in the process so she continued to not fix their paws. She also didn't express their anal glands. Kelly's grooming is an awful place and has hurt my dogs and caused them trauma. She had been skipping a bunch of steps for at least a year and I can't believe someone could be so cruel. Lesson learned just because a place is affordable and your dogs look nice on the outside doesn't mean it's a good place. I want to WARN everyone DO NOT TRUST KELLY'S GROOMING!!!!

I used Kelly's mobile services for my cats today for the third time over the past few years. Exceptional service, as always! I have two long-hair cats, and as they gotten older, they aren't grooming themselves as well as they used to and they don't like to be brushed. Using Kelly's mobile services reduces the stress to my senior kitties - and to me! And her rates are very reasonable for the convenience. I'm sure I'll be calling her again soon.

I have a 14 year old Boston terrier who hates to have his feet touched. He is also blind and suffers from hip dysplasia. Prior to my visit today, I had to let his nails grow to the point where they made it uncomfortable for him to walk. Then it was a trip to the vet who usually had to sedate him to even get close enough to do the job. That is up till today. Kelly's got him in same day appointment and had the job done, without sedation in about 2 minutes. I drove 50 minutes round trip for a 2 minutes job and will do so regularly with a smile on my face in order to give my little man the quality of life he deserves for the remainder of his days. Thanks ladies for a great job!

Kelly proved to be extremely rude, not only to me as a customer but also to my Maltese. He came back looking as if I had put him through a wood chipper. He had cuts all over, was trembling like I'd never seen before, and skittish as if he'd been hit. I will never recommend her services to even my worst of enemies and would highly recommend anyone that cares for the wellbeing of their animal stay far away from this hellish establishment.

Kelly is the best groomer is Sarasota. I've used her services for over 10 years for my yorkies. She comes to my home (mobile) and my dogs love her. She is an animal lover. She also has a shop in gulf gate. Don't confuse her with any other groomer in Gulf gate area. My friend went to Karen's by mistake because she advertised a "Kelly" working for her. It's the original "Kelly's Pet Grooming." She's the best!! She's been around Sarasota for many years!!

Great little place to get your dogs or cats groomed. I called for an appointment, had to leave a message and got a call back to schedule a timeslot. The place is no frills but comes with friendly staff and my dogs were cut very quickly. They came out adorable and the price was great. I would definitely come back here.

Terrible haircut! The technician chopped the hair on my dogs head and ears. After I said do not cut her head. My dog is very upset. Totally shaved her and she only had a few knots. I would not trust them.

I've searched for over a year to find a good mobile groomer for my shih tzu after losing my old one. I was so glad to find kelly who was so kind and gentle with my dog. Her grooming was done very quickly and efficiently. I highly recommend her and Meghan.
