The food was delicious. Chili dog, Cheeseburger, onion rings and fries were all fabulous. Super fast service, clean, cute atmosphere. Definitely coming back!! Update: Went back next day. Grouper sandwich for lunch was yummy and the grilled chicken sandwich for dinner later was great. Ice cream was fabulous. Our new favorite place to eat on the island!

Good hamburgers, awesome grouper sandwich and the best onion rings on the island so far! Food is fresh and hot. Very clean inside. Toasted coconut and key lime pie ice cream deeeelish!

Great Food,,, everything is Gourmet level simple food. Loved the BLT, The Wings are crispy, Juicy and HUGE!!. Onion Rings were crispy and perfect. Grouper basket was fresh and tasty. Highly suggest!!!

I saw the reviews that kept saying the fries are great, and I'm happy to report the fries did not disappoint. They are so delicious!!! I wish they offered non natural casing hot dogs. I ended up getting chicken tenders due to the hot dogs being natural casing.All seating is outside, but there are two counters inside if you want to eat indoors, just prepare to stand.

Great fries and food! The place looks really cool too, love the sign and decor. Its a little cramped inside, but they have some counters to eat on while standing and tables to eat on outside. The smell drives you crazy while you pass it by on foot or on bike!

The BEST hotdogs I've ever had! After coming to the area for ages we finally decided to try Schnappers. I was surprised at the choices on the menu (I always assumed just hot dogs). Great hot dogs, fries and onion rings! But they also have burgers and sandwiches too. I'll definitely be back!

Never stoped here for 15 years. Then they put one in Naples. Ate there weekly then it closed suddenly. Why? Decided that I would trek to Sanibel on the Vespa to get my fix.Stopped in and saw a familiar face as she worked the Naples location. She remembered me and we chatted as I ordered my dog and fries. I felt at home right away.Now to the food. These are the best fries I have ever ate and every single time I’ve had them, they have been perfect. The char dog was very good as well. The trek was worth it!

I had been searching unsuccessfully for great burgers and dogs since I moved to SW Florida from North Carolina two years ago. After trying dozens of places, the search has finally ended. Finding a place where you can even get chili on a burger down here is almost impossible so when I saw Schnapper's had Carolina style on the menu, I had to stop in.The cheeseburger and hot dog each with mustard, chili, slaw and onions reminded me of my favorite spot back home and the hand cut and breaded onion rings were amazing. I was too full for ice cream, but I will be going back again... and again... so there will be plenty of time for that. The prices were reasonable also especially for a place on the island.

Unfortunately hurricane Ian tore this place up and it’s currently closed. I pray that they’re able to reopen because this place is such a hidden gem! They make the best double dog you’ve ever had, and the fries are delicious. Get a double with chili, mustard and onions and you won’t be disappointed. If that isn’t your favorite combo they have other things too.

Stay well away.Just disgusting food: oil is terrible and has obviously not been changed in a very long time, giving off a really bad taste and smell on the fries. My hotdog was grossly overcooked and the bread the same you can get at Walmart. On top of all this not cheap at all ! 10$ for hot dog with NO toppings and fries? Absolute rip off.

Onion rings are delicious. Hotdog buns were cold and stale, the dogs are over cooked. The chili was good but I prefer the cheese on top.And I don’t like politics with my food.

What a delightful place to stop and have a quick and delish bite on Sanibel Island,Florida located on Periwinkle. An assortment of American favorites such as hot dogs, burgers , and a wonderful battered and fried Grouper sandwich. Homemade ice cream as well as other goodies and daily specials.They have a a small parking lot with Handicapped parking and access to the restaurant. Seating indoors with a few tables and stools at the counter or sit in the shade under an umbrella and coconut trees with fans. Service was quick and friendly and the environment was relaxed, clean, and cheerful. When visiting the area again we will definitely go back. If this helped click a like and hit the beach!

Hot dogs were delish. Good snap and nice bit of char. French fries were on point as well! Ate outside under shady umbrellas and didn't feel out of place as we had just left Bowman's beach. Would recommend!

I can say this wasn't my favorite hotdog I've had in my life. This was the chili cheese dog. Something about the chili?! I'd might give them a second opportunity but I'd def get a different dog. The onion rings and fries were typical variety. Inside was standing room only, as all seating was moved outside.

Waited for about 30 minutes from line to order, to pickup at the counter. It was worth the wait.Update: I went back again and had the Chicago Dog, by far the best I've ever had. Still 4 stars for the long wait though. But worth it!

Tried one of their burgers....tasted like a fresh homemade style burger. Sooo good!!! Also, their fries are done perfectly with a nice crunch on the outside! Great shakes too!

We ALWAYS love Scnapper's Hots on a Sanibel visit!! We brought our granddaughter and three twenty-something guests to the island, and Schnapper's Hots didn't disappoint. Great hot dogs, fresh, tasty, heaping fries...........can't wait until next time.😎

Best restaurant to come to Sanibel in the last 20 years. No trip is complete without a visit here. Get either the burger or their famous hotdog. Skip the chicken finger dish as it is nothing special. They have an enormous ice cream selection and will make a think shake or a malted, both of which are exceptional. Fries and rings are excellent. I cannot recommend this place highly enough!

They accidentally put a bun on a chicken sandwich, my daughter is Celiac. They brought out 2 chicken breasts and gave us our money back. Burgers, hot dogs, fries and chicken were great!!!!

First visit to Schnapper’s Hots for late lunch today. This restaurant has no indoor seating, they have a couple of standing counters to eat indoors. All seating is outside.We ordered a chili dog ($5.25), Grandma Kramer ($4.75), original ($5.25), cheeseburger ($8.85), medium fry ($3.95) and we went back after we ate for ice cream. The hotdogs were tasty but also have natural casings which my husband hates. It’s nice they also have burgers so he was happy. The hot dogs are tasty but I wasn’t a fan of the chili. While it’s doesn’t have beans which is perfect, it was more spicy than I feel it needs to be. Not kid friendly chili. The hot dogs are typical sized so unless you have a small appetite, you should order at least two. The burger was pretty good and the fries were awesome.They offer about 40 different flavors of ice creams also in some fun flavors. They offer both shakes and malts.

My husband had 2 different kinds of hot dogs and I had the burger with everything and fried onions instead of raw and a side of fries. It was the best burger I have had in years!!!! And they have malt vinegar, salt and hot sauce at every counter. I was in heaven!! We may have to go back for lunch again before we leave the Island to return to our Maryland home!! DELICIOUS!!!! Great service and they were fast!! Yummy!! 😋

This was a great little hot dog shack. I probably wouldn't get the chili dog again (the chili was really not great), but everything else was tasty and my family enjoyed the visit. I also cannot fail to mention that they staff were so kind. We had never been to the area and were looking for a certain beach. Our phones weren't getting any signal, so the teenager at the counter mapped it for us on hers and offered to have us take pics of it so we could get where we wanted to go. Where we live, I can't imagine that happening. I have no doubt we will return on our future quick drives to Sanibel with the kids.

freshly prepared when you order. the place is very clean and staff works like a well oiled machine but very friendly. favorites are the grouper fillet sandwich, onion rings, and cheeseburgers with choice of fixings. hot dogs look great but we haven't been able to resist the others. fresh dipped ice cream flavors were great on cones too. look forward to trying the key lime pie someday.
