While Horstmeyer boasts a clean store andfantastic staff, I've noticed a significantdecline in the quality of their hay. What used to be top-notch is now consistently the worst in Seminole, Volusia, and Orangecounties. Additionally, their feed selectionhas shrunk, omitting some very commonoptions. It's disappointing to see a once-reliable feed store falter in both productquality and variety.

Bad store policy on returning items. Purchased live chickens and most died. I have raised chickens all my life and never experienced anything like what happened to the ones I purchased. Called and they refuse to give a discount on the next purchase. So much for being all about the customers. Customer service stops at the door for sure.

The staff that runs this place is amazing. They’re very knowledgeable and able to give me their own personal experiences with the products they sell. They Carry a wide range of products for chickens, rats, goats, horses, cats, dogs, and more. You name it they probably have it. They always carry the healthiest and cutest chicks in town! The boots and clothes are a little expensive but I would say feed/hay/shavings and chicks/ducks are all priced accordingly. I absolutely LOVE the beaver shavings they carry! Keep up the great customer service Horstmeyers! Our family will always shop at your store!

Purchased black kid size 12 shoe for my 5 year old daughter’s show 8 days ago. She wore them once last weekend at a show (3 events) and we arrive in ocala this weekend for another show.The shoe falls apart as she is walking to begin. She does not train in these and solely for show purposes.I called horstmeyer to explain the quality they sold and if they would stand behind it. They said they won’t and sorry. However, if this was a large online retailer they would have accepted an exchange or allowed me to return it, sorry does not cut it with so many options including great customer service.This establishment has lost my business moving forward for years over providing lousy customer service over a child’s shoe they sold. Completely get they did not make the shoe at least stand by the products you offer. This is why people stop shopping local because the customer service and standing behind quality is their lowest standard.

My favorite place in town! The team is fantastic, the owners are personable, prices are reasonable, and the variety of merchandise is a nice touch. The team is always helpful when I have a question about feed or hay. Even the loader is pleasant when I know he's really hot and tired. I can't recommend Horstmeyers enough!

Horrible customer service. The young girl working has extreme attitude when addressing the paying customer’s requests on ordering large quantities of hay per month through this store. Very unprofessional. Goes beyond what is authorized by me and had continued to charge my credit card for hay bales that I explicitly told her not to deliver. This is called theft, and the last time I checked, an employee does not have authority to make a decision as to how much animal food to charge me for. Completely unacceptable and disrespectful to say the least. Will take business elsewhere.

Awful communication and a terrible customer experience purchasing hatching eggs. Insane they do not take pre-orders and limit per customer.After making the drive to the store last week, we were informed to call for updates regarding the hatching eggs. We called once, Tuesday, and once Wednesday, only to be promised the eggs would be available Friday. Call back today (Thursday) and they're all gone. Extremely frustrating.Please consider improving this experience. For now, I'll shop elsewhere.[EDIT: After a thoughtful change to policy from the store, we've since been back and have purchased supplies with 100% satisfaction. Thank you to the owner for being receptive and being willing to set new policies in place, as such I will be changing the review from (1 star to 3 stars)]

We have pallets of feed and shavings delivered a few times a year. They have been so amazing! I can order via messaging them on Facebook, they are organized and keep all of our records and info, delivery instructions on file. I missed the delivery driver this time and was surprised that when I went out to the barn all of the pallets of supplies were placed neatly in our storage area and he even rotated the stock (moved the partial pallets out to the front). Rare to see service like that anymore! I'm so impressed!

Let it be known that for an order made a Saturday of $ 500 plus $35 chipping plus taxes that they have refused to accommodate me for Tuesday delivery even thought I live less than twenty minutes away and they do delivery on Tuesday. It s always been like that. For years they don’t give a flying fu$&@ about the customers need. I am glad you have told me to go and do my shopping somewhere else if I wasn’t happy because that prompted me to look for a better and closer store. I took their advise and I looked for one. And I have find the best, most accommodating store just a few Miles away from me and they delivered me within 24 hours and gave me bulk discounts to the Extreme without event me asking and FREE delivery. That is business’s at its core.

Revised - This store location is new and the business has been around for years. I remember the red barn. It is a neat store that had a lot of items to offer.It was at the end of the day and the lights were dim not as bright and inviting than the little red barn, but clean and spacious.After my first visit didnt set well I gave a return call to ask questions. A young man answered and was very knowlegable. Customer service isnt bad here. Just need some tweaking.My first visit I called before going to the store and was told a bale of straw was $5.99 the price was repeated twice in our conversation, when I arrived it was then told to me $9.99. I told the cashier I just called; nevertheless, that is a great price.Maybe there was a miscommunication. Well I got my straw and I will return.

Great selection of feed and supplies and even greater service. Every worker I've met here is always kind, polite, and extremely helpful. They're very knowledgeable of their products and if they don't have what you're looking for, they'll order it for you! Prices are great and the animals for sale in there are always healthy and happy looking. Highly recommend this place for any kind of pet or farm animal!

Very knowledgeable staff that was eager to answer questions from both myself and grandkids (7 and 8 y.o.). Liked the fact that the young lady that waited on us admitted to not know some answers to our questions..but she did find out for use from other staff. Prices are reasonable. I was amazed that there wasn't any kind of chemical smell. Actually smelled clean for farm ans garden center.
