After waiting a month to receive a book from the online store, I left a message on their phone number listed on their website and sent an email to them, as they claim to still be open for web business. After receiving no response, I reviewed Yelp and see I'm not alone--interestingly, they had no problem accepting my payment and acknowledged the order.I have requested contact and a refund, and will be processing a request for refund through my credit card as well as reporting them to the Better Business Bureau.If you are having trouble fulfilling orders, at least be upfront and have the decency to respond to emails.

I truly hope this store can get its act together, because an independent bookstore is a treasure. Despite stating their web store is open, they have not shipped my purchase from September, and have not responded to any emails or phone calls from me. I'm very sorry about the hurricane damage, but if you aren't able to fulfill orders, then don't keep your web shop open.

I pre-ordered a book in June 2023 that was due to be released in November 2023 and never received it. I have emailed multiple times and left a voicemail but I haven't gotten a response. I understand that the physical store is closed, but if they do not have a secondary place of operations to fulfill orders they should not allow the ability to place them and accept payment.

I wish this bookstore exist in ft myers but I don't mind doing the drive! Wayyy better than any box chain book store(looking at you barnes n noble) and super friendly staff including the most adorable dapper cat! Its just fun to walk around and get lost in here.

They'll process your payment, but will not ship your order, respond to e-mails, or answer the phone. Had to get a refund through my credit card company.

This place is awesome. We saw it on Facebook and just knew we had to visit. We drove from about an hour north of Tampa and we believe the drive was completely worth it. We will also return multiple times in the future. There are rare books here that I have not been able to find elsewhere and the prices for them are honestly quite reasonable. When you visit, feel free to pet their sweet cat (as long as it allows you to) and donate a buck or more to its food fund. 😁 The centerpiece of this place is the wall of upcycled books that they've put together as a testament to the horror towards the idea of tossing books in the dumpster. Each person working here that I met were also super helpful and patient.

This was the first time I've ever been to this place. Brought my granddaughter for the Sandman book reading and truly enjoyed it as well as she. She loved the characters which were among her favorites. Great job. Will definitely be back again.

Sandman's Bookstore is the best local bookstore around. I really like how they organize their selections and they have something like 80,000 to 100,000 books in their inventory. Very old, new and unusual books for sale.

Very nice bookstore with a small gallery inside. They have new and used and everything is organized by genre. Nice shelving and nooks to get lost in. The arch is made out of recycled books and resembles a rainbow. There is a kitty that lives there and sits on a little black chair. I attended their grand opening and have been back many times.

I ordered a book from this place in August and they have not sent it to me yet. They have not responded to any of my messages. This is very bad business. I wonder if they’re even still in business.

I ordered a book on their online site where they explicitly said they were still filling orders and it hasn't shipped yet after 3 months of waiting. I expected a delay because of the hurricane but I'm not sure if they have any intention of shipping my book at all. I tried calling them three times leaving my name number and order number on Sunday when Google said they would be open to receive calls at least. I hope I can at least get my money back. The way I see it if you're not going to fulfill orders don't keep your online store open and just close down completely because I feel like they stole my money regardless of hurricane. I would stay away from this place if you can help it. Don't be fooled by the good prices, they will not get you your book.

A wonderful place to spend an afternoon browsing through books. The staff is friendly and helpful in suggestions. They have comfy chairs around the shop in which to rest. And of course the cat (Kitty-Wan Kenobi) is adorable!

I wished I had read the reviews before placing my online order. The website says items are still shipping, but I placed an order over 2 weeks ago and haven't heard any update. I've also left a voicemail and used their website contact form. If an employee is reading this: If I don't hear anything soon, I will be forced to contact my bank and request a refund.

I see I’m not the only one. I preordered a book back in January of 2023 and here it is exactly 9 months later and multiple attempts to contact them with no book or refund. I can’t even get someone to reply to my emails or phone calls.

Great bookstore with very friendly staff, and a sleepy cat. While it's 530 miles away from me, they offered to be my local bookstore because they can order and ship to anywhere...may have to take them up on that because I liked it that much. Nice local section, a decent sized sci-fi/fantasy section, new and used books. Well organized and some really cool arches made from recycled books.

Love Sandman Books and Heidi. I buy all my books from them, and get excellent customer service each time. It’s a reliable source for on-line ordering, and finding new and used books in store. I prefer to support independent family-owned businesses and Sandman Books is a stunning family project that serves anyone anywhere through its on-line shopping system. The bricks and mortar store is like walking into a wonderland with its arches, nooks, and crannies. So happy to have gotten to know this store a couple years ago.

Definitely my favorite used book store that I have visited in Florida! They have such a large variety of books that surely anyone could find something they like. Everything is fairly priced and the place is well organized as well. The whole ambiance of the place is simply heaven for any book lover out there! And of course we can’t forget about the adorable cat!

Ordering online is not recommended. I ordered a book and there has been no update for over a month. I sent a couple of emails, got an automated reply confirming receipt of the email, but never received any reply or information. When I called I always get "can I call you back, I have a line." This must be the busiest bookstore in the world if they always have a line and cannot answer questions. Meanwhile, they have my money, and I have no book. Curious to know if I will ever get the order or be able to reach someone and get a refund or update. I was just promised a call back in two hours...so we will see what happens. UPDATE: I never received a call back...but I did get the book after they supposedly sent another copy out. They said the first shipment had the wrong address, but it was unclear to me what really happened. NOTE: It says on their website that the workers are volunteers. That seems crazy to me. Anyone working in a for-profit bookstore should be paid for their labor. It is not an easy job.

I visited here for the first time yesterday, and was immediately blown away by this bookstore! I've been to a lot of bookstores, but this one is my new favorite! From the layout to the overall design and the cat (who I got to pet), I will definitely be visiting this bookstore again in the near future. Highly recommend this place to any book lover!

This place was an experience like no other. I was greeted by an adorable cat. The selection was astonishing from new to used books. I liked their section just for Florida Authors.This place felt like a high class library where all the books where for sale. I loved it.Plus the staff was friendly and great help with recommendations, as well as being informative. They can find you books not only at their store but at their warehouse. Plus they have a book exchange that I can’t wait to be involved with.Definitely my go to bookstore.

I was amazed and blown away by this store. They have almost anything your looking for. The store is well organized, shelves well marked and even some specialty shelves with favorite authors and their series. I will go back again and again. They also have randome tables and seating so if I got to checking out a book I could put it on table or sit. The entrance area is created in a nice sitting area that has a surprise. You have to visit to see. Owner is so helpful and kind. There was even a few locked glass cabinets with early and or first additions if that's what your looking for.

I placed an order on 5/16/2023 online for my company Mayo Clinic Health System out of Mankato, MN for our kids grief group. Order #10201 in the amount of $382.00. I have called numerous times and left messages and the same for emails and no one ever responds. If your company is not up and running why did it let me proceed to payment? I do feel this is terrible customer service and would hope that I will be contacted very soon before this goes to Florida's BBB

Unique and beautiful bookstore! The owners and staff are so friendly and knowledgeable. My favorite bookstore ever! Due to hurricane Ian the brick and mortar is presently closed for repairs, however you can still order online or buy a gift certificate to use later! Help support this Punta Gorda treasure!
