We needed to find a place to board our pup while we went on vacation for a week. Being new to Port Richey, I looked up reviews for places in the area. I was attracted to Animal Inn because they have outdoor play areas for their boarders. I made a reservation for my Poppy girl and decided to take her there a few days ahead of time to check the place out and so it wouldn’t be such a shock for her when we had to leave her there. The staff was so friendly and welcoming! They put us and more importantly our pup at ease! It’s very obvious that they love animals and Poppy loved them back! She did great while we were gone and ate well which is usually an issue when she boards. We absolutely recommend Animal Inn for your fur baby!! 😊

The staff here are so friendly and caring for our fur babies. The price is right, and we like the fact that the dogs don’t intermingle in the yard. They each have their own dedicated time to play. With the respiratory virus that is harming dogs nationwide right now we feel The Animal Inn is our safest option.

Overall I had a good experience and I would definitely go back in the future, if I need boarding! My only complaint is that my dog rubbed her nose creating a scratch, I wish someone would have contacted me to let me know rather than waiting until I picked her up. It was not an emergency and will heal on its own, so I understand why they did not contact me, but I would have preferred that they had.I will definitely be returning in the future, as the staff is very nice and professional, and most importantly my dog seemed to have a good time!

Absolutely amazing!! They are very clean and the staff is super friendly and caring!! When we first brought our dogs here, I had a question that forgot to ask when we dropped them off, and the owner was quick, responsive and professional. Both of our dogs actually enjoy coming here!! The first time, they were a bit off when they came home (It is to be expected) but then 2 weeks later, we brought them back and we couldn't even say bye to them bc our dogs wanted to go in so bad lol. My Husband picked them up and he was telling me how our little guy saw him, ran back inside and then finally decided to come out 🤣 To us, that tells us they are treated well, and enjoy their time there! Definitely will keep bringing our dogs here for when we have to go out of town! Thank you Animal Inn for taking good care of our dogs while we were away!!

I would give this place 0 stars if that were an option. I called this place earlier to get a quote for how much it would be to board my two 6 month old pitbull puppies who are between 30-40 pounds. All of that information was clearly conveyed to her over the phone because they charge by the weight of the dog. We’ve never boarded our pups before but I told her we have two cats, I have two kids, they’ve been to dog parks and just last week they were at a dog beach (where they always get along with everyone and are super friendly with kids, cats, and other dogs). They are fully vaccinated and neutered. She assured me it all sounded great, gave me a quote and said the only hold up was she wanted to do a meet & greet with the boys to make sure they would be friendly and get along with other animals. My 6 month old puppies are still leash training (it takes time), so when we got there, they are excited to see someone new and be in a new environment and can hear dogs barking in the background so are pulling on the leashes because once again, they are puppies and are excited. She takes one look at them and says, “Oh, no..sorry..I have a bad back. I can’t handle all that pulling.” That was literally the full extent of our interaction. Uhmm..what?? You own a dog boarding/grooming business but you can’t handle puppies?? Also, are you the only employee at this place?? This lady completely wasted my time, was dismissive, and inconsiderate. Highly HIGHLY do not recommend you even give her the opportunity of a phone call because she will waste your time. PS.. I’m glad Dobby peed on your floor #notafraidtobepetty

This place is great! We take our 2 dogs here for boarding. They are super friendly and love our dogs. They treat them like their own. Facility is clean. They walk them several times a day and text you pictures. They give them a bath right before you pick them up and put cute bows and bandanas on them. And they are very reasonable with their rates. They also offer dog grooming services too. I recommend Animal Inn to anyone needing a nice place to keep their pets while away.

The rates for both boarding and grooming are very affordable. My dog is treated so well here, she is greeted by name whenever she gets dropped off, that’s pretty outstanding. Also, the grooming services are the best I have found. I have a toy poodle, and most places have no idea how to properly groom her. The groomer here knows what he’s doing, and has some serious skill. Chloe’s coat is always so soft and silky whenever I pick her up, and she looks just precious after her grooming. Great job Animal Inn!

Love the Animal Inn. Been going there for about 2 years now. The place us always clean and very welcoming. Cynthia she is great with my doxies. She listen any special instructions. My dogs come happy and playful. Open 7 days a week. That is a huge help. Also if you pick up before 2 pm no charge. That alone is a big help. My dogs are always bathed and smell and look great after staying there. I leave my babies without any fear of them being harmed. Cynthia thank you so much. I appreciate your help. Toffeey and Emily will be back.

We had to leave our little one a week. We were so nervous but these folks were AMAZING! They took great care of her, she was walked daily n was so happy n clean when we picked her up. On their own they sent us updates n pictures of her so we could see she was smiling n enjoying playtime n walks threw out week. We could tell when we picked her up she was well cared for cause her demeanor was happy n she was sleepily from playing and walking allot not just in a crate waiting for someone. N her nails were clipped n she had best grooming we have ever had for her! We WILL always use this inn! They didn’t watch our baby they loved her n we could tell! Not to mention the place is clean, safe n adorable! Give your dog the best. N did I mention a week of boarding there cost less than one night of a hotel for us on our trip! Don’t go anywhere else! This place is the BEST!!!!

We boarded our dog for a week here when we went on vacation. This is an absolutely wonderful place. It is quaint, homey and is staffed by people who truly love and care for animals. The atmosphere is not cold and sterile like some kennels can be. It is warm, open and welcoming. I highly recommend The Animal Inn to anyone who needs boarding services for their furry friend.

My dog has been boarded here a few times already and neither of us have any complaints. She's happy, clean, nails trimmed (which is practically a miracle!), and looks good when I pick her up. She isn't the least bit nervous or hesitant when I drop her off. The staff know her and like her a lot.

While my dog came home alive, unlike the couple picking up in front of me who's dog had been mauled during its and had to be put down! The owner of animal inn really acted like she didnt care and most certainly didnt take the proper precautions or follow procedure after the incident. But back to my own pet. She has lost her bark. First time ever happening and she's not sick so they're thinking it's raspy because she was left barking for extended periods of time until she basically lost her voice. She came to them fully healthy and had been to the vet just days prior . Conditions there are sub par at best. It's an old dirty house converted into a doggie daycare and the owner is kinda smug. It's no wonder it's a fraction of any other place to board your pet. Go ahead and fork up the extra $45 a night for the peace of mind ur pet returns to you safe healthy and alive

I truly don’t recommend this place I brought my 2 dogs here and after getting them back it was very obvious that they were the poorly treated. I find it very concerning that they don’t let me check out where my dogs were staying. Even after sharing my concerns they still had the nerve to add their own desirable tip to the overall price. If I could give them zero stars I would have. Make sure to think twice before choosing a place like this. After seeing a change in my dogs behavior I definitely have no problem choosing a more expensive place that can give some quality!

We had a bad experience at this facility. We first boarded our dog for 1 week and , as another reviewer mentioned, we were not allowed to tour beyond the front office. Should have been a red flag. People seemed nice though so we boarded her. When we tried to pick her up we were told between 10 and 6 was pick up time. When we got there they wanted us to leave for an hour and come back later to get her. We said no we would take her now. They said she had to have a “mandatory “ exit bath. We said we don’t want the bath just the dog. They went in the back and didn’t come back for 20 minutes...apparently giving her the bath we said we didn’t care about. They didn’t charge us for the bath since we waited. When we got our lab home she was coughing and stayed that way 2 days before it cleared up. It was the weekend so we couldn’t take her to the vet and she was better by Monday.December came and we had reserved two weeks and tried to find another place with no luck and since we couldn’t reschedule the trip we had had planned for 9 months with non refundable tickets we reluctantly brought her back. When we opened the car door and she sniffed she ran and hid under the car seat and had to be coaxed out. We picked her up two weeks later and they mixed her up with another dog they tried to send home with me and didn’t have her ready to go even though we scheduled a pick up time and triple checked with them to confirm. We got her home and realized she had horribly bloodshot eyes and runny nose with gurgling breathing. She was so ill we were worried she wouldn’t make it until the vet opened 1 day later. She was so sick the vet was extremely worried and treated her with meds and daily calls to ensure she was improving. Our dog has had all her vaccinations including kennel cough and dog flu. I dog has NEVER been sick before even though we have boarded her numerous places. Not sure what it was exactly she caught but we will NEVER take her there again and make sure everyone we know doesn’t take their pets their either.

My pup Dixie really seems to like it here. She is very timid and is afraid of a lot of things. She has a hard time entering the building but seems comfortable when I see the pictures they send me. She never seems stressed when I pick her up after a few days of being boarded. Prices are great and I love the bow and bandana they put on her after her bath before pick up. Thanks for a great experience!

Being new in town and needing a place to board my dog, I started my research on local pet boarders. What impressed me the most with Animal Inn was the fact that it has been owned and operated by the same family for 30+ years. The family lives there on the premises. I spoke with Cynthia who answered all my questions. When we arrived at the facility, I meet Cynthia. My dog, Oso, loves people so Cynthia and Oso got along with each other immediately. Cynthia could tell that I was hesitant to leave my baby (… dog). She gave me her cell phone number and said that I could call anytime during working hours. Well, I took advantage of this and called her almost everyday that I was gone. She was so sweet and talked highly about Oso. She even admitted that he is the calmest dog that weekend and so she had him by her side. When I came to pick him up, he was all clean and smelling wonderful. That was about 2 years ago. Since that event I have boarded Oso with Cynthia about 4-6 times. I no longer bother her with annoying phone calls when I am away. She continues to be an amazing dog keeper. Oso loves her and looks forward to seeing her each time. I would HIGHLY recommend the Animal Inn. We have made both Cynthia and the Animal Inn a part of our family.

The best animal boarding facility in all of West Pasco! Friendly staff and very clean facilities. Not too pricey either, at just $18 a day + $2 walking fee, it is by far well worth the investment for your pets. They even beauty groom ($18 fee) the day you pick up your precious family member just in time for your arrival! Absolutely AWESOME!!!

These two ladies, Cynthia and Linda, are always pleasant and must love what they do to be so pleasant. Even during our latest tropical disturbance, Cynthia took the time to assure me our dog was faring the storm well.
