1 Star for the Deli/ Fresh foods section at this Publix. 5 Stars for the rest of the staff/ departments. The deli at Publix Gulf Cove is dysfunctional, has poor time/ line management, lacking customer service, and clearly cannot handle online orders or their online ordering system.This Publix does not exemplify the experience the company strives for, specifically in the deli department. The deli and fresh foods section at Publix is what used to set them apart from other brands. Now I have better reliability, consistency, and availability from lower cost stores that move more quickly and communicate effectively.Advice to Management:Management needs to request a business practice review from corporate and have an observer understand the deficiencies in the processes implemented at this location. They are not all like this and if you read the comments, it is a long term issue at this Publix. It would be a good idea to get this under control before reputation is impacted long term. We love a home town Florida grown grocer, but loyalty has been misplaced over the last 2 years and the once flawless reputation is now a bit sticky.

As a local here for over 20 years, the quality of service of the staff in the deli department for the last 4 years has been very poor to say the least. They rarely follow the special instructions given, never have the order prepared by the pickup time. And when you go to ask them for the order, they treat you with the most disrespect like if they were talking to one of their children. Now we will only go there to get a few things otherwise we go to the one in Placida for any deli orders.

Selling overcooked and dried up cold food in the hot food area. It’s noon on a Tuesday and just left for work with cold hot plate chicken tenders well over cooked. Returned and was refunded but how do you raise prices but can’t keep quality products or service

Beautiful store. Great selection. A bit on the pricey side compared to other grocery stores. Buy One, Get Ones are good deals. Their sub sandwiches are the bomb!

I must say, the food is indeed good, especially the subs. However, I cannot turn a blind eye to the unacceptable behavior of the new manager, who seems to be treating the employees like slaves. It is important to address this issue and ensure that all employees are treated with respect and dignity. I'm disappointed now that the new manager is there, I miss the old manager Stella I think her name was. Super nice. Since the new manager, I am no longer going to attend here, and I will inform my friends and family!

Overall, Publix is usually outstanding, but the Deli at this Publix does not meet the standards held by the rest of the store. They are not nice and they are not prepared. They will stand and look at you without saying a word or even just ignore you. Twice in 3 days I have gone for fried chicken only to be told once there won’t be anymore today, at 6:00 pm, and once that it will be an hour minimum wait, at 4:50 pm. I don’t understand this. I know they sell a lot of fried chicken, how hard is it to have some?? I honestly thought today that they don’t want you buying it and that maybe they are pushing customers to buy the cold premade meals. What is the deal, Publix??? It’s not like you don’t charge a premium for your products and for that premium, I think you can do better.

Bought a pre-made salad the other day, and an hour after eating I started convulsing and vomiting my guts out. Do not buy those pre-made salads they are deadly......Yuck!!!!!

The store is nicely stocked, with products of quality. However this review is directly critical of the meat handling in the deli/sandwich department. I had "Casino" make me a wrap and I noted multiple times where they touched their clothing and at times their face with the sandwich making glove. They went as far as appearing to wash their hand without replacing said glove. That just was off putting, I get you don't need to change your gloves for hours when working in the deli but it made me wonder if Publix had workers cross containming food as they also work with hot meat products in the production of sandwiches. I had to pass on buying the wrap. I opted for a half chicken leg that Lyn helped me get instead.My cashier Beverly was quick and efficient in checking me out, I won't be back but that's because I am a tourist.

It's a supermarket. What do you expect to hear. BUT I did go there for lunch with my son. The deli sandwiches are very good. The bread is very fresh and the cost is worth it.

This store is consistently clean and well stocked with items that I usually purchase. The staff at this store are friendly and helpful. Publix is usually more expensive than other grocery stores, so I normally will only purchase a few necessary items.

Easy to park very close to the store on a Monday evening. Huge selection of products. Very nice bakery and appreciated the calories shown for each cake. Some fairly good offers BOGO. Soda machine available with three different sizes of cups. Three different soups also available each day in three different size cups, but expensive at 4 Dollars for the smallest size. Cooked Chicken was pricey as well.

Jen baked an OUTSTANDING custom orange Creamsicle ice cream cake for my daughter's birthday. It had 2 layers of vanilla cake with an orange sherbert/cool whip center. It was beautiful and tasted amazing!

My local shipping store.Employees are super helpful!!During Christmas, I went to purchase a turkey and didn't want to buy one of the huge ones they had in the meat section. A gentleman in the meat department had more turkeys in the display as I was looking for the smallest turkey.He took his time out from what he was doing and went to the back to check to see the smallest turkey they had in stock.And he really took his time because he was gone for quite a while. He did come back when the smallest turkey I've ever seen in a store hahaha

Went to get my rescue inhaler and there was a very long line while 5 people assisted 1 customer. Needless to say I need my rescue inhaler and was late too work even though I left 50 min before needing to be there. Why can't 1 associate help 1 customer? Why did it take damn near all associates to help 1 customer. Very tempted to change pharmacies just saying.

Just leaving this Publix with my family, and we had the most delightful experience from beginning to end. Each person we encountered here today was pleasant and friendly. The gentleman making subs in the deli was so accommodating, efficient, and kind. Our cashier was a joy.

They have finally brought our Lil Publix store into 2023 . Self check out . All new frozen food freezersThe store looks great . But you have to stop moving the groceries into different area . Now I takes 30 minutes to shop that used to take 5 minutes

They are very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend them. By the way, they have a great little to-go luncheon section. I have gotten their chicken, mashed potatoes and carrots, plus roll. It is absolutely delicious and you can’t cook at home for their prices. Try it!!😎

I am in complete shock of the management at the Gulf Cove Publix. I’ve witnessed a friend be reprimanded in front of me TWICE for simply having maybe a 10 minute conversation.I understand staff is there to work, but if an employees time is so valuable they can’t have a brief conversation with a customer I think they should be compensated accordingly. This is exactly why business have a hard time keeping employees, treat people with the same respect you'd like to be treated with. Not to mention it completely ruined my shopping experience. Honestly I’m thinking about all the small conversations I’ve had with staff and hoping they didn’t get the same treatment.
