The port charlotte Fl, grooming department is horrible. I’ve tried three times to have my dog groomed and each time it’s the same outcome. Chancel appointments on short notice, also asking for rabies shot records and i have gave them multiple times. I’m not sure what they are doing with the rabies records. I gave instructions on how we wanted our dog cut and they just know 1 cut, cut it all off. We have a Goodendoodle that looks like I shaved him at home. $112 Petco price that looks like $10 cut. The first two pics is how he should look, and the last few pics are what Petco did to him. We’re changing locations to Venice Petco and hope for the best. Don’t take any Chances with the grooming department.

all the staff hide in the office, and not very friendly. Of the 2 times I've been in this store, the only staff member is the cashier who we have to ask to call someone onto the floor to help us. pet supermarket has much better service and comparable prices.

They are one of two places that carry the food my cats will eat. The staff clearly does not want to be there. They do not give bags for your purchases. Bring your own or pay for one if they have them.

The place had quite a variety of salt water corals and fish. I would have given it 5 stars but, looking for a cashier was a hassle, and also the place wasn't very organized. Tons of boxes in the way, most likely products that need to be put away.

The pet grooming department is absolutely amazing. Awesome jobs on the boys feet. And they hate them being touched. Highly recommendedWe've also purchased a bird and the staff was absolutely helpful

This store has gotten better but still much room for improvement. Too much stock not stocked making it hard to get around and hard to find what your looking for. I've used the online delivery and have been very happy with it and I don't have to go on an adventure attempting to find it on the shelves!

I shop here for my aquarium supplies and fish. Their tanks are beautifully displayed and kept very clean, with no evidence of dead or sickly-looking fish. They do have an amazing selection of live and artificial plants, and aquarium decor. As with most chain pet stores, the staff are not really specialists on anything, so make sure you've done your research and know what you are purchasing.

I would like to personally say thank you to Niccole and her entire team for exchanging our dog food hassle free yesterday 12-28-23.We recently purchased dog food that our dog had an allergic reaction to "chicken" and they allowed us to exchange for beef. Our dog had to get groomed and taken to a vet and this allowed us the opportunity to save cost and showed us that petco is truly where the pets all should go.Thank you for a Pawsome visit after a ruff day!

We rescued a Shiloh Shepherd and Petco on Cochran in Port Charlotte has an excellent groomer, Amy, that is able to work with this jumbo dog. With his past history of neglect we were apprehensive on how he would behave for her. His nails were so long they were cutting into his pads and he still was a gentleman in her care. She is compassionate and very capable with even difficult dogs! If I could give her 10 stars I would. The store has also been very helpful in recommendations for us on food and supplies as it has been a while since we've had a dog in our fur family. The manager and staff are all very pleasant and kind. We will return again and again for all our pets' needs!

What’s crazy is saying you’re doing right by animals by not selling E-Collars. Then why are you still selling rawhide? Make it make sense. E-Collars can be a great thing for SOME dogs. Rawhide is never good for ANY dog. Such a shame

We are there for dog training. All going well so far. I assume they do the dog training very inexpensively to get us in the store. There were a variety of things I had planned to buy but find costs to be excessive.Can find most products for much less $ online... Therefore 4 stars.

Wow! what a clean and well maintained facility. The staff was very friendly and was responsive to all my questions. The animals looked healthy and their cages were clean. The aquariums tanks were clean as well no dead fish or feces floating around. Everything seemed to be in order. Took a picture of these lizards all piled up in a fake rock. The one in the middle was so cute. Looked like a happy little lizard.

My 9 year old dog started showing signs of arthritis, so I went to Petco, since they had arthritis meds in stock vs. (according to Google) that other pet store that only had it advertised. Devann in the Port Charlotte, FL store was knowledgeable and of great assistance in the finding and choosing of one. She did better than she may have thought. The next afternoon my Lola was getting around much better and more enthusiastic. Thank you, Devann.

The sections in the store are clearly marked. Which made my mission that much smoother. I was in a hurry and very quickly found all the items I needed. The staff was friendly and efficient, which also made things go quite smoothly. It also made my animals very happy when I got home. Great store, I love it

Took our cat in to have his nails trimmed, they were able to get us right in without an appointment! The young lady that worked with him was super kind and I could vouch for my cat that I believe he had a good experience :-)
