If we could give 10 stars, we would! My husband and I want to give a very BIG "Thank You" to the manager and staff at Ace Hardware in Polk City. On August 10, 2023, our car broke down. Ace had an auto parts section, and we were able to purchase an item that we thought would fix our car issue. Unfortunately, our repairs were more than we thought. Long story short, it was very very hot. They cleared a bench for us to sit and wait inside out of the scorching heat for a tow truck to arrive by Triple AAA. They gave us water. They even helped to charge our phones. When we found out that Tripple AAA could not get us a tow truck without a six hour wait, Ace called a local towing company for us and we were able to get help within the hour. All the employees went above and beyond and we are so grateful to all of them. They helped to make a miserable day pleasurable. THANK YOU!

I love that I have an Ace Hardware so close to home. Although they don't have everything I need all the time. They do have a Lot packed into that little store.This location does have propane refills if that's something you're looking for. As well as all kinds of other random things you might or might not need.Will definitely be back again and again

Employees are always helpful and courteous. I would rather go out of my way to come here then go to the local Lowe's. If you ever lived in a small town this store is exactly what you would expect. Everyone is treated like family and friends.

Beware of return policy. After just moving here, I was so happy to have a well stocked hardware store nearby. I was in the store multiple times every day. Every thing was fine until I tried to return a square d beaker that was purchased the day before. They have a no return policy on electronics. The problem was resolved by the manager. I guess I expected a no hassle return policy like Lowes or Wal-Mart. Now I know

I keep forgetting its there, but with other places using me as slave labor at the chevk out... I'll be going back here much more often! Its always been a pleasure shopping here, its just not on my way to any place. Its worth the extra drive though!now if only they had doughnuts... :)

I quit going. Every time I go, I feel like I'm interrupting the conversation up front. It's weird, they seem to always have a group of people sitting around and talking in at the entrance, employees included. The prices are pretty high too, but I guess that's expected with no competition nearby.

Bought a ton of stuff for a local construction job. Returned some sand bags and 2 tarps. Assistant manager gave the riot act about the return and made it way more difficult than it needed to be.. she wouldn't take the factory sealed unopened tarps back. Don't buy more than you need at this one or you'll keep it. The regular employees were nice but no one wears masks here, not even the customers.

Yes they talk to customers and each other, they are friendly people. Just approach an employee and ask, they are always helpful. There specialty is hardware not mind reading. When I know which aisle to go to, they leave me be. They are not always as cheap as a box store on everything, but if you add the 10 - 12 miles to the next closest place, it is a good deal. On some things, they are actually cheaper. When it comes to screws, bolts, specialty brass plumbing fittings, they have more selections than box stores. Best price in town on propane.

A very nice experience with a gentleman by the name of Tim from the auto department. He went above and beyond to make my visit as pleasant as possible and helped me with my battery problems and lord knows it was hot as hell outside and not once did he complain!! Thank you again!!!

If ya can't say sumthin nice say nothin at all. Illegal termination of employee's at this privately owned one. Open investigation so can't say more here cept don't shop there period. Had to help a local business with plumbing problem n had no choice but to go here. Wish i could say more but how bout this. Don't shop or work there. Only this polk city store. All other franchise Ace's are good to go but not this privately owned one.

I am trying to support our local markets...but they doing it so hard....if you live in polk city and you shop from Ace you will pay double price than if you lived in Lakeland and shop from Ace....for exactly the same products...see the screenshots (everything cost double in the ace in polk city!)

ALWAYS go there first....before Home Depot, Lowe's or Walmart. Never disappointed. Great service. A little more pricey maybe but travel time and gas gotta count for something. Friendly and knowledgeable too. Give them a shot!

My husband and I stopped by the Ace Hardware in Polk City on November 30, 2018. We pulled into the parking lot at 6:45 PM to pick up some bait for our night time fishing trip. The sign on the front door stated that they closed at 7:00 PM. My husband walks into the store, bait bucket in hand and the lady greeted him with "sorry sir, we're closing". My husband kindly asked if he "could get just a few minnows?". He didn't need anything else but some bait for our fishing trip. She said "sorry but everything is put up". At 6:45??? If that was the case why wasn't the front door locked, the closed sign put up and their google account changed to reflect that they were closing 15 mins early before we hooked the boat up and drove from Auburndale to give them our business? Also, how hard would it have been for her or one of the other four employees that was just standing around the counter doing NOTHING to get a 30 YEAR LOYAL CUSTOMER some bait? My family also has been going to this establishment for their needs, but after the way we were treated on this night, WE WILL NEVER GIVE THEM OUR BUSINESS EVER AGAIN!!! They didn't just loose a loyal customer, they ruined what would of been a GREAT night of FISHING with my husband.
