We were faced with hardest decision we had to make concerning our 14 year old companion. When we called these folks they were very compassionate and nice to discuss options. When the time came and I handed our companion over they were so kind and gentle. So appreciative of their professionalism and kindness during that very difficult time.

Adopted our sweet girl Molly here yesterday. They were so helpful and friendly; very easy process. 2 page application takes up to 24 hours to review. $130 adoption fee included spay and immunizations. The place was clean and orderly with some hard working volunteers. Their website is not current since puppies go so fast they said; best just to call ahead and ask what is available.

Not a good day for me! So sad! I had to take sick kitten to them. Neighbor moved out and left him behind. I think he was covered n mange. I called n made appointment,The lady met me at gate. She was very nice! We did the paper work in minutes. Very clean easy in and out. Idk it at time but they have adoptable critters too. I give them 5 stars! Well worth the little drive!

I LOVE this place! It's always clean and smoke-free. The people are great and they all love the fur babies under their care. I go there when I can to play with the dogs (I'm allergic to cats unfortunately) and they encourage me to do so. If I could I'd bring them all home with me but I can't.

So very accommodating and wonderful to work with! We had to travel 3 hours to get there from where we live, they are working with us since we are staying the night and going back tomorrow. They are taking our new fur baby to PetSmart in the morning so we can get extra coupons!

Had the best experience adopting a dog at the humane society. My boyfriend and I were able to meet the puppy and bring our dogs to meet her too. Everything went well and was even surprised to see all her records when we officially became her parents. Plus they fill out all the microchip info for you. Overall it was a great experience. Should be the go to for adopting an animal.

My husband and I adopted a puppy from the humane society last weekend and he is such a joy and a blessing to our home. The staff was very professional and the facility was very clean. The animals were taken care of and volunteers were working to ensure they have great care . Thank you for our new puppy we love him so much already !!!

The animals seem well taken care of. The staff seemed kind of young and not very outgoing or friendly, although they were never rude. Decided to adopt a cat here, gave them a $100 in cash and noticed a few minutes later one of the young ladies coming out of the office and putting one of the twenties in her pocket. Perhaps that's how they take care of payroll there. Took them 48 hours to call OKing the adoption after I turned in the paperwork which is fair.

I have adopted seven wonderful pets from the Humane Society over the past eighteen years, each time was a pleasurable experience all the way from dealing with the staff and volunteers and their assistance in helping me choose the perfect addition to my family by guiding me through the "igloo" and calling just about every animal by name without having to look at the information sheets attached to the cages. My first visit is what I think made me a repeat adopter. I remember seeing on the news that there were some overcrowding issues along with funding, staff and volunteer shortages. However, even functioning with basically no budget, very few paid employees and not very many volunteers they tried to give everyone that walked through the door the same amount of attention, because they were all there for the same two reasons: the love of animals and to find these sweet animals a new forever home. You could truly tell that the people working and volunteering actually loved what they were doing. Even with the constant echo of barking dogs, meowing cats and occasionally a squawking parrot they never lost their calm polite demeanor. This is probably the biggest reason they have quite a few returning "parents" looking to expand their families with a new "baby".So, if you are considering expanding your family, make the Humane Society of Bay County your first stop. They have a wonderful website now that shows you all of the amazing pets that they have ready to become the newest member of your family but nothing beats going to see them in person. If you are torn between purchasing a "new" pet or adopting a "used" one, I type from experience when I say that you will be just as happy if not happier by adopting. Most shelter animals, dogs especially, are more often than not already housebroken and when their previous owners surrender them they normally tell the shelter the reason, a lot in Bay County is simply due to the Air Force and Navy bases, which is sad for them but a great benefit to those of us looking to adopt because our Service Men & Women do outstanding training their pets. But even if it isn't a pet from them you will know if they housebroken, if they love children or other pets, if they walk well on a leash, know any tricks and my favorite, if they love night time walks along the beach!

This place is nothing but a joke if you want to get a furry friend you have to go thru so much paper work and please them if not worth your time. Now you know why they are do over populated with cats and dog's. Its the same one but just relocated

I chose a hope for Santa Rosa to get my cat spayed. On the website it says they bring them here. My kitten ended up with a seriously bad infection and the hole opened up and it was really bad!! If I could give zero starts I would. I had to take her to a vet to get it all fixed. Luckily they covered it all for free because of how bad they messed her up. Definitely would NOT recommend this to anyone.

Got our precious Daisy from here 12 years ago and couldn't be happier. Now we take our three pups once a month to get their nails trimmed for $5 each! They really help us keep our dogs because it can be hard to nearly impossible for us to trim our larger dog's nails. She isn't an easy customer and they do a great job every time. They also offer inexpensive shots, as well. So very thankful for what they do for the dogs that need a forever home and for the ones who have them. Thank you!❤❤❤

This is an awesome place. I love going 8n and looking at the animals. They are very well cared for. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I wish I could adopt them all. But I have to many now. But never hurts to look. And love on them.

Great place! If you want to give up your furbaby, bring it here. They don't sell all of them to Pet Smart. Bringing them here is expensive but it's a good way to make sure they find a loving home unlike the animal shelter.

I called about some dogs I had concerns about, after speaking with Dave today. I am not concerned any longer. Dave loves animals as much as I do. He answered every question I had and will keep in touch on how the dogs are doing. Thank you Dave for everything you do for all animals in need of help. 🐕

It was to my understanding that they would take in my dog Gordy for "Operation: Spay Bay" to have him neutered and up-to-date. Granted, we didn't already have an appointment made but that was THE WHOLE DAMN POINT! Truthfully, I don't even want to part with him, it's just that we can't take the dogs whenever we are actually able to go home. They lied to us!I HATE THIS PLACE!Nothing but garbage!

Do NOT believe what you hear from these people. They killed four innocent kittens with a horrid fairy tale they told my girlfriend. We recently found four roughly-four-week-old feral kittens. (The mom had been hit by a car.) We couldn't keep them for more than a few days, but in a couple of days we'd gotten them on solid food, using alitter box and coming when called with a couple of loud "click" noises. We only had them for three days, but they were just great. Unfortunately it's "kitten season," and so no shelters had space for them. When my girlfriend called the Humane Society, though, they said that they regretted that they couldn't take any more kittens... and that's when the Big Lie came out. "Take them to Bay County Animal Control," the Humane Society person said. (I wish I had her name, but I don't.) "They round them up and give them to PetSmart and they get adopted." What a relief, we thought. So we fed them, they visited the litter box and bundled up in the animal carrier that I purchased that morning for their trip to their "new home." Hell, I even gave them a $400 donation for providing a pipeline for the kitties to have an eventual home.No one said, "you DO know that the minute you leave this room, we're killing these kittens, right?" And yet that's what happened. Had I known that, we'd have figured something else out. Instead, a call the next day revealed that they had all been terminated without any attempt at all at finding them a home. Worse yet, the person from Animal Control said that (1) they weren't weaned yet (COMPLETE BS and I specifically told the person who did the intake that they were eating ("inhaling" is probably the better verb :) ) solid food. Big Lie #2 was that they "had a respiratory infection." I have worked with dozens of feral cats and about a half-dozen feral kittens and I've learned the symptoms or feline respiratory infections, and they didn't have that because, again, they're FERAL KITTENS, not kittens coming out of some random kitty mill. They killed four very smart and charming kittens for convenience's sake, but apparently that's the SOP at Animal Control. I don't like it but I can't blame them for it -- they didn't lie to me overtly. I CAN, however, blame the Human Society liar, the woman who sent those cats to an untimely death. I contribute to a lot of groups like them... but rest assured, not another penny for any organization with a name like "Human Society" any time, any place. I hope the woman who told my girlfriend her baloney "just tell her this story to shut her up" lie. If she reads this, I'd remind her to check the "bearing false witness" commandment.

I found everyone at the Humane Society to be friendly and informative. The adoption procedure went smoothly and quickly. The fees are a little high, but I think it makes one stop and reflect hard on taking the chance to adopt.

Omg they are a NO KILL shelter people. I had origionally called asking about the 2 brother kittens i now own lol. But they were at pet supermarket waiting for somone to adopt them. I talked to the manager and finally got to actually meet with the bay county superintendent of the humane society and i walked in gave him a huge hug and said thank you for saving every animal in all your shelters. I was sobing because this is so meaningful to me. I am from iowa and nebraska originally and all the shelters are kill shelters! So i now am a volinteer there 1x a month i get to go in and cuddle the senior cats.
