Continuing decrease in in-store service quality, especially at the service desk, compounded with complete and utter disorganization around on line orders is quickly making Publix the store to avoid.If it wasn't for the fried chicken and subs, I'd never shop here, but that only goes so far.

Publix what changed?Green Bread Buns before sell by date?We bought Cod from the fish department here and only 1 piece was edible the other pieces were rock solid as if it was frozen and thawed over and over.

Good location with both self checkout and cashier lines. I went to pick up a deli order I placed online and got it relatively quickly. Arrangement of store is a little weird compared to other grocery stores (the deli and bakery are on separate sides of the store, the freezer aisles and cold aisles as well)

My new go to grocery store for this new area I live in. They have a large assortment of food items and they sell boars head sandwich meats and cheese.

This is our usual publix especially because it was historically less ghetto than 3/4 of the others in the area. Close to where I often go for job supplies, easy escape turning right to get away from malabar and the walwart muggles. Ive had 5 of 5 of my last visits ruined and 3 times induced actual but quietly sifled rage at the behavior of the deli employees. I spent a lot of time in restaurant service so I do know about being really busy and dealing with entitled customers. You learn to prepare for that. It felt similar to how I'd imagine someone handing me a bag of poop the last 2 times I tried to get a side of ready made hot food at the deli. The face that woman made and seeing them treat food like it's just chicken feed or nuts and bolts or something a real human is about to actually eat... The yellow macNcheese is often ugly and crusty so I instead buy cream and flour, butter, cheeses, interesting pastas, nutmeg,white pepper et cetera and just make it myself. Next I want a chicken there arent any. Whatever. Make my own. Again, wife is craving fried chx so I make waffles. Had to beg for chicken to be made and patiently wait.There are always pairs of slow moving hands taking slowly-given orders at rhe sub station. The line is annoying and unnecessary. Learn from food trucks(real ones) So m'lady orders ahead for her minions at the shop. But she cant get her subs. Some grub hub scab has to hand it to her but there isnt one? Its annoying.You have a line, you just get the orders and jam out the food. Slap a name on it and keep working. You don't fraternize and make annoying comments to each other where the customer has to hear it. You dont hand off custom hidden menu stuff to your friends while normal customers are waiting. You don't sit there sandbagging dozens of wedges and humming while a customer who just asked for them is still standing there taking up space in the line waiting.Its sad that as much extra (we all know your profits have increased more than inflation) as they are charging it seems quality is going down. I may as well shop the tomatoes at thrifty and just wash the mold off myself. Ive been 2 for 2 picking up and throwimg away bad tomatoes or something. I used to be inspired to cook nice dinners by walking through a produce section. Now i just feel sad looking at plasic boxes of lettuce that I suspect will be slimy tomorrow. Its saddening because I'm still an artist in the kitchen even though I'm long away from the chef game. I still expect people to care that they are touching somethimg another human will eat. They wouldnt treat the food the way they do if they were preparing it for their mothers or for a friend. I can see the contempt in some of them and i dont want to come back for anything they've touched. It feels spiritually contaminated.I fed it to the raccons that day.I hope Kroger does build here and bring some of what we had with Luckys and Downtown Produce. Publix needs to tighten up. So many employees but so few actual professionals.I cant even type out all the reasons for my total disgust and lack of faith in those deli creeps. It just seems like its everywhere that the general quality of EVERYTHING is sliding.I'll make my own quiches from neighbor's eggs who never price gouged during a plandemic.Edit: I smell the berries before I take them. Which is bad news for be since these looked good from underneath. I sorted through other moldy ones they were putting out. Literally separated one with an obvious mold colony on top from the cooler while the guy was putting away a whole cart of them. He or something else put it back because I went bc to produce before leaving to get a pineapple and the moldy ones were on the shelf again. This pictured box came from a display on the other side, unrefrigerated. It's like every 2nd trip here nets some BS that I just don't want to let slide anymore. Today I got a prompt to update my review for some reason. So here's to that.

Highly recommended.Very clean. Very helpful employees. If they are out of anything rain checks for items are issued and honored I believe for 2 weeks. Items can be very pricey.
