The animals here are NOT being taken care of properly. No husbandry what so ever, no heat lamps for the chameleons who are showing obvious signs of stress. Snakes without hides, and an emerald tree boa with no humidity and live mice wandering in the enclosure. I am not sure if it's lack of knowledge or blatant abuse. Either way, I could not give them my money in good conscious. I can only assume their customers are unaware of what proper reptile care is. I only hope the owners will do more research and give these animals proper care.

If you get a faulty product from here, make sure to clean out all the substrate before you try to return it, or they will reject your return. Make sure you keep your receipt to do a manufacturer return. But don't worry after they make you drive all the way there to tell you They can't accept your return because it has substrate in it they will definitely ask you "So do you wanna buy another cage or what?" It's not even that they couldn't return it. It was more so the condescending tone for me.

Boss Bob is a kind and warm guy. He is very patient and knowledgeable every time I ask him some beginner questions. This week I came here 3 times for questions about Leopard Tortoises, and I found every time I left, I gradually love here more. Not only boss Bob and another long hair handsome boss, but also pretty girls here. They are professional, supportive and warm hearted. I believe more and more people like me will fall in love with reptiles because of them. Wish everyone one enjoy time here!

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend going to this place. The snakes are covered in mites. There is no way it has gone unnoticed because you can see the mites in every ball python enclosure.We purchased two BPs. Successfully saved one after weeks and weeks of mite treatment. The other died.The feeders are sickly. When the woman was picking out feeders for me, I was surprised she wasn't embarrassed by their condition. I don't even know why I still purchased them, but I've had a sick feeling ever since that day.It's a shame really. The staff are nice. Maybe they are just burnt out because they do seem to care. Sad

I will ALWAYS come back here because of the customer service. It is SO refreshing that Drew and Bob actually care about their customers and their animals, and actually know what they are talking about. They have never pressured me to buy anything I don't need, and have in fact told me when I DON'T need something. They have always taken the time to answer my questions and are always welcoming.And if I wasn't already a customer for life, this past weekend, one of their redfoot tortoises was roaming around. They let me feed him hibiscus flowers and pet him and hang out with him for a bit -- now I am DEFINITELY coming back! :)

Everyone there is friendly. I give 4 stars just due to they keep ball pythons in tanks yes but also in small containers which hurts to see so many kept like that…But I have gotten a few reptiles from them and I haven’t had any issues with them. Nor have I had issues with their feeder rats. 🐀

My family and I visited here to get our Bearded Dragon some food.This place is amazing!They have all sorts of reptiles from Bearded Dragons and Snakes to Chameleons, Turtles and Insects.My daughter is a huge animal enthusiast so it was such a wonderful experience for her to have. 🙏🏻Definitely would recommend!

Purchased a male veiled chameleon from here a few days ago along with other items. The girls were great! Lots of well kept and clean animals. Prices were good as well. Our new chameleon is enjoying his new home and loves to climb on me every time I open his cage.

This place was so cool. My daughter has an obsession with reptiles. This place has so many different species. Very cool morphs. And the prices for everything you need to care for your reptiles was very reasonable. I definitely recommend this place.

First time driving out to this location. We were assisted by an amazing female employee, she was willing to help and super nice and patient with every question we had. We went specifically for the crested geckos. Geckos all had kinks in their tails (lacking calcium / poor nutrition) all the food bowls in each cage had dried out Pangea or Repashy food. Honestly they were being kept in very poor environment conditions. When we finally decided on purchasing one gecko, no one happened to know the price on this. (Mind you all tanks had pricing ranging anywhere from 60-100$ for baby - adult geckos) reaching the cash wrap, cash wrap employee asked another employee or who I would assume is the owner for the pricing of the gecko we chose, with out even taking a look at the gecko or even acknowledging us as customers he yelled $200. Absolutely ridiculous. Naming a price for something he has not even bothered to look at and even more importantly yelling out a price that was nowhere near what he had for sale with price in stock. Place is a complete joke. Employees were even arguing about who’s cleaning crickets out on the sales floor while customers in store. If you wish to rescue a reptile then I would say go for it, otherwise I wouldn’t even spend my time or money. Go up the road to southeast reptiles if you’re looking for high quality reptiles and customer service. Will never return.

Wow! Hands down one of the most awesome places (and they have animals too!) The gentleman working there greeted me when I came in with my daughter (a rambunctious 5 year old) was very welcoming. Not over selling anything, like the kind of place where you walk in and it's like "what are you looking for?!" "what kind of setup ya got?" "what kind did ya have with that?" A step through the door and you know, they know what they're doing! We looked at almost every creature, which seemed endless! And I'm sure if there was something specific I was looking for they would be the ones to find it, if it was available anywhere. The store was organized and neat. Probably cleaner than my house most of the time! All the animals were in very good health, well fed and cared-for. Although I didn't get a chance much to look at the merchandise, I bet there's some pretty unique finds! I saw some pretty awesome reptile fog machines and very competitively priced! We left looking forward to the next time we come back! =)

Overall I have had a great experience with this place. My boyfriend and I just got our leopard gecko from here yesterday. The staff is very knowledgeable, passionate, and dedicated to taking care of all of the animals.

Went here for my first time a few days ago.. as others have mentioned they have a large variety of animals and supplies.Living conditions for the animals are extremely poor. There no hides for the snakes and most lizards, no UVB for the chameleons, dirty water bowls, probably 100 snakes that are being housed inside reptile show plastic containers, dead animals, and numerous sickly animals. I refuse to buy any animal here and honestly feel that this place should be reported for animal abuse and neglect.As it was my first time here, I asked the owner some questions and he said he has been in business for 30 years. He was talking with me, but never looked away from his computer screen at the register the whole time. When I entered the store he was telling a female employee what needs to be done for the night, while he sat in his chair and browsed Youtube. The owner has zero accountability for the care of his animals!

I was recommended to this store by a coworker of mine and I'm absolutely head over heels for this store. The employees are all very friendly and more than happy to answer any questions I might have. I've purchased 3 Dumpy Tree Frogs from them, all in wonderful health.

Horrific condition of the African fat tail gecko we felt obligated to purchase today. We took him to the vet immediately, but there was nothing we could do for him. He passed not even 12 hours later. The water in the container he was full of maggots and they had a cup of meal worms he clearly wasn’t eating. I have never seen an animal in such poor condition like this. I felt terrible giving them money for this neglected animal, but I felt obligated to try. I do not recommend this exotic store.

I bought a Brazilian bird eater here along with a cage and other accessories, as well as a ball python. The prices were fairly cheap, tiny cute place and will be going again soon to buy more. They also include a wide variety of pets, even if you aren’t purchasing it’s a cool place to check out overall :) (p.s. they let you hold the pets if you ask)

About 45 minutes from my home but worth every minute of the drive. All my local goto places only ever had limited supplies of feeder rats, never enough for me. When I needed 50 this place EASILY filled my request. I only stopped by because it was on my way to the farm tractor supply I don't visit very often. So glad I discovered this place.

BEWARE Sells sick and dying animals. not even a month later my animal died from lack of care this establishment provided.. Called to ask why they sold her to me sick and the man on the phone literally blamed for buying a sick animal. I gave this establishment a shot years ago and my reptile was also sick but I thought maybe it was a case of bad luck obviously it’s not. This place is neglecting these reptiles and in it for the profit. ALOT of people have experienced the same thing I have. Threatening customers for your mistake is as unprofessional as it gets. pet smart takes better care of their reptiles and that says a lot. This “reptile mill” shouldn’t be allowed to sell any living animal

Bought a snake here Monday after Brook helped put my girlfriend's mind at ease and educated me on ownership.You can read everything on the internet, but nothing beats having a one on one conversation with someone who is knowledgeable in their field. Can't thank Brook enough for her help with getting my ready to bring my baby Ball Python home -- I can tell he was well cared for at this shop! Bought a pinkie a day after bringing him home and he ate it, no problem!Can't recommend Herp Hobby Shop enough.

This is a great place to get feeder mice, crickets, worms, etcetera.Unlike almost all pet stores, they always have mice. Large selection of snakes, lizards and tanks.They crammed a lot of product in this store but they made it work.
