I used to love this place. Sadly, over 2023 the boarding care/service has drastically declined. My dog came home in such bad shape recently that I cannot see ever taking him back. I emailed the owner for some answers but never got a response. It really saddens me because I trusted them with my precious boy and they really let me down.Update: The owner did eventually contact me. He apologized and said he is working on getting things straightened out. He offered me a partial refund but so far I have not received it.

We had a great experience here. Last minute needs to board our Lilly and they took care of us. Needed to add a couple days to get through the holiday and they were happy to accommodate us. She got a fresh bath and a nail Trim to go. Thank you all for taking great care of our pup!

I'm not entirely sure what happened. I boarded my dogs for 2 nights. When I picked them up, they reeked of urine. I asked the front desk staff why my dogs were wet and I was told they "rinsed them off" because they rolled in urine. Which, okay, I understand dogs can be gross. But as someone who works in vetmed, we would NEVER let a clients pet go home smelling or looking like that. The blanket was wet, their paws were visibly dirty and soaked. I know I opted out of a bath, but you'd think customer satisfaction would be taken into consideration when people go to pick up their pets. This is especially disappointing since my previous visit was so positive. Now, I'm not so sure there will be a next time.

My dogs stay here a lot due to me traveling. They’re always so great with taking them in last minute and my dogs love staying with them. I highly recommend this place for daycare as well.

I need to board my dog,Zeus, while we visited family for the Thanksgiving holiday and they immediately showed affection towards my boy and showed they genuinely cared for the animals they take care of. They immediately took note of the special needs my dog has( he is allergic to chicken and can’t have it) and didn’t even bat an eye. When I picked Zeus up he was happy and jumping around as he was when I dropped him off. I am very picky about who watches my dogs, and probably sent a bunch of emails checking and was always treated with respect and a smile. Thanks for taking care of my dog

Incredible facility and staff! Our Nanook is a 4 mo Great Dane with teeerrrrible skittishness whom multiple vets/boarding facilities refused. Julia welcomed him with open arms and worked with him, on short notice, while we were away. Her kindness, Haley's comforting self, Kelly's help, and Jason's knowledge were above anything I've ever witnessed. Our family is forever grateful for their eagerness to help our baby and continued updates (extra praise for the pictures) to help mama's anxiety. All of the stars and all of the love to Cuddle Bugs!!!!

I've been going to cuddlebugs and boarding my bully for 4 years now and never had any issues. She loves the staff and the daycare. Over her stay last week, unfortunately something happened and she cut her paw before I picked her up, which required me to take her to the emergency vet on a Sunday after I could not stop the bleeding. The associate working did not know exactly how it happened. After calling to speak with Steve (owner) he was very understanding, empathetic, and apologetic for what happened. I understand accidents happen as well and sometimes these types of things cannot be avoided, however Steve was very professional and offered to refund the entire cost of the board, along with half the medical bills, which I was happy with. He handled the situation perfectly, I will be bringing Cinder back in the future.

We traveled to Ocala Florida to visit family. There was a few days that we couldn’t bring our dog where we needed to go so we googled a pet day care in the area for the day. Cuddle bug came up and we called them. They quickly were able to get our doodle signed up and ready to go the next day. It was her first time at a day care so naturally we were a little nervous dropping her off but when picking her up we knew we picked the best place. She came out so happy and the staff was excellent and made us feel like our dog was part of their family. The next day they posted pictures and you could see how happy she was. Our only disappointment is we headed home and can’t take her back till our next visit because she loved it there. Thank you for taking such good care of our girl

I would NOT recommend anyone to take your dog here. Before we left when dropped our dog off, I asked for a tour of the place. First red flag! I didn't like that! Second, when we picked her up, she stunk bad. Her ears were filthy! I just didn't get a good feeling after leaving. That was our experience. Just wondering what they have to hide from not giving tours.

Recently boarded our dog at cuddlebugs. Friendly staff however couldn't reach someone on the phone during the stay. She was quite stinky and had dirty ears when we picked her up. She was Happy and calm at pick up. I was a day late but they were very nice about it. I don't know if I'll leave her there again

This is the best place for doggie day care and boarding! My dog absolutely loves going. Julia and the staff do a wonderful job. You can accumulate points to be used toward services like teeth brushing and nail trims, even boarding! My pup is very high energy but I can rest assured that they are watching over him! Love all the pictures they post on Facebook. They make sure to include ALL the dogs. Their business hours are great for those of us who work. Open early and close late! Can't say enough about Cuddle Bugs Pet Resort!!

We had a last minute vacation opportunity pop up and Cuddle Bugs was more than happy to accommodate us for the first time. The prices were extremely reasonable and the customer service was top notch! We can tell our boys Duke, Isa, and Zach were cared for and even had reports on how they played with other dogs each day. We will happily make the drive from Gainesville for any future trips. Thank you to everyone who helped take care of our wild childs this weekend!

I have taken some time to think about my review. I want this review to accurately reflect Cuddle Bugs - and each time I try to write a review, I get emotional.We have moved from Michigan and a WONDERFUL boarder/groomer. I just knew it would be difficult to find someone just as loving. I was wrong.Because 2020 has been a horrible year for everyone, I won't bore you with details; however, I lost my mom and my dog within days of each other. I called Cuddle Bugs to board my big boy while flying back to Michigan to bury my mom. To say I was a complete mess when calling would be an understatement.Steve super patient with me while I was blubbering trying to figure out dates/times, and whatnot.Not only is Cuddle Bugs loving to the pet-children in their care; they are also caring toward their parents.The staff is great. Our big boy knows when we turn into the driveway. He starts getting excited and doesn't even look back when taken to the daycare room.We have boarded and have had daycare several times since moving to Florida. You will be happy with their care - but more importantly, so will your dog.

Absolutely not a fan. Facility smells like they don't clean well. Boarded our dog there for the day. They were given explicit instructions on our pups feeding schedule and brought his food for him. When we picked him up at the end of the day I asked about his feeding. I was told he didn't eat well. When I inquired about his food container, they went back to get it. When coming from the door to the back the person was putting the lid back on the container as if she had just open the container. I suspect they just dumped his food. Our dog came home and our suspensions seemed confirmed when our boy acted as he hadn't eaten since we dropped him off. Also he smelled so bad. I will not be going back there.

If you love your dog don’t send them here. Our dog stayed here for two weeks since we were going out of state for Christmas and New Years. He was neglected. When we were out we called two times to check on him.They said he was fine and said they would send pictures of him. We never received any pictures. When we picked him up he looked extremely skinny you could literally see the outline of his ribs. He looked like he was not eating for DAYS. The bag of food we left for him was given back to us full. And apparently they had him in a cage, which I was not aware of because if I knew that I would have found another place for him because he is not cage trained. Which is something they should ask before they put them in cages.After his stay here he was very aggressive and did not like when the kids would get near him. I have no clue what they did to him but he will never be coming here again.

Been bringing Abbey there for twoyears 2-3 days per week for half days. Yes, as many businesses, they have had turn overs, but the girls are apparently sufficiently trained and watch over the dogs with care. There are always people who complain about everything and think they are privileged. We have never had a problem there in approximately two hundred visits.

This review is long overdue. This is a great place to board or for daycare, we had done both. Over the years we have boarded many dogs at many different places. Cuddle Bugs is by far the best. When we first moved here, before we were settled they took care of our dogs many different times. We were so grateful. We also had an issue with one of our dogs...which I won't go into...and they really really went out of their way to help. You will not go wrong with this place.

So we are one of Florida's snowbirds that come down here from Michigan and of course being new to the area you don't know where things are or where to take your dogs if you needed a place for the day or an evening.I'm one of those people that go almost strictly by good reviews and 4-1/2 stars or better. My husband and I were looking for a place to be able to board our dogs in late February for a trip. I probably went through about 5 places online and read the reviews and I came across Cuddle bugs pet resort. This place was very highly recommended, and good reviews across the board. So we decided to drive the 40 minutes to Cuddle bugs Pet Resort in Ocala. They gave us a tour of their place. The place was very clean, staff was very friendly, they have large outdoor and indoor play areas. We asked that our 2 dogs stay together and they said they didn't have a problem with that. With that being said we took our dogs there for a day visit that following week and the 2 dogs had a great time. We will be taking our dogs there for the week we need them and fur_ever after that when we need them. Family run business that loves their dogs and they will love yours too if you give them a chance to. Oh and rates are very reasonable.

I send my pup there every day! They are amazing with him. He recently was neutered and were happy to help take care of him while I worked my crazy hours. Whenever I have a concern, they address it immediately and keep me updated on anything that my pup is doing. Julia is so respectful and informative on every service they offer. When I drop my boy off each day, I know I don’t need to worry about him because he always comes home happy and tired. The pictures are always a plus!

We boarded my husky here for a few days when we came into town. And it was wonderful! They have a nice facility with good prices and offer all day play! My dog had a blast playing all day with the dogs and at the end of the night they post pictures of all the dogs activities during the day! It really put my mind at ease and I knew he was having a blast! I would recommend to anyone who wants to be sure their dog is taken well care of! Call ahead weeks early because they fill up fast!

I would highly recommend them to care for your dogs. I just moved to the area and they were able to board my dogs during the transition. Maggie was very sweet and helpful. They were prompt on getting paperwork to me and just made it so easy. My dogs were clean and seemed more relaxed when I picked them up. This will be the place I use from now on. Thank you so much!!

I am very pleased that there is a new pet groomer that actually knows what they are talking about. She Did a amazing job on my Beagle I’ve had his washes manny times at cuddle bugs but never have I ever had him come back actually clean she was very sweet and kind and knew what she was taking about I like it. We recently traveled back to Michigan for three weeks to visit family. We have two older dachshunds - Peanut is 15 and Missy is 13 ( who isblind ). They do not travel well so we have to kennel them when we go back . We tried Cuddle Bugs for the first time and were very very pleased They gave us a tour and explained the care our babies would receive , They also let us know that post daily pictures on facebook. We really liked this feature , especially since we were 1200 miles away . We missed our dogs but seeing daily pictures of our dogs interacting with other dogs was very comforting, and assured us that they were doing great and being well cared for. We HIGHLY recommend Cuddle Bugs , Julia and her staff took great care of our babies. We will have them take care of our dogs whenever we need our dogs cared for. Thank You Bill and Becky Seeley

When I picked up my kitty at Cuddle Bugs, he didn't look the least bit ready to come home. He was happy there. I checked out four other places before deciding on Cuddle Bugs for his stay, I am so glad I found this place. The owners are very attentive to the details of feeding, medications, and particular cat personalities, and took very good care of him, and he is a cat that needs a lot of people time and attention. If I must travel without our kitty in the future, Smudge will get all that love and care at Cuddle Bugs again, I won't feel guilty about leaving him!

Unexpectedly I needed to board my pet here for an extended period of time. The care and consideration they showed for my pet, as well as for me personally exceeded expectations. From calling to assure me on my dogs stay...to offering assistance on bringing her back home got me. Great value. You can see clearly, they are animal lovers. I would recommend them for all your boarding and doggie day care needs.

I had a wonderful experience here. I needed a last-minute solution for daycare while traveling through Ocala. Their hours are convenient and the staff was great. One of my dogs has special needs and the staff was great with her. Both of my dogs came home happy and well cared for. I will definitely use them again if my travels bring me back to Ocala. Thank you!
