I always thought small businesses thrive because of exceptional customer service. Kile’s Ace thinks insulting customers and swearing at them is acceptable behavior. I returned a roll of duct tape with a receipt, and Penny got unglued when I asked her why she needed my name. She became aggressive and more insulting when she couldn’t explain why. There is another Ace in Osprey that I will now frequent as I refuse to be verbally abused by a cashier. Ace should investigate and fix this problem before more customers are lost.

This is my go to hardware store. They have all the hard to find stuff. The employees are friendly, kind, and go out of their way to help. The owner so very kind, and made sure I had what I needed to get the job I was tackling done.

Carl is the man! I had an urgent need to install a garbage disposal for the first time and was totally stressed. Carl calmly helped me and took extra care to wire the bottom of the disposal with a plug in. He literally saved me for my property inspection. And, he was so good at explaining that if I never need to install one again I’ll know how to do it. This is why I come to Ace instead of big box stores. Thanks Carl, you are the helpful hardware man.

So I try to avoid the big box stores. This place is dirty and outdated by any standard but I'll support the little guy. I casually buy a tarp a couple months ago to cover my chicken coop. Turns out I don't need it. Go to return it and the cashier lets me know their paranoid "hurricane" policy won't allow returns. You sell stuff year round. Hurricanes occur very rarely. Only the greed consumed person who owns this place would care to exclude returns. Like other reviews have said....lots of staff around but its a dump. Especially nice the employees who witnessed my interaction and commented how stupid it was. The cashier was polite as she said it was "above her pay grade" and simply said I should complain to management. Why should I have to complain. Seriously, in a store this size how big of a problem is it that people buy stuff and just return it? You have a 20% restock fee anyway for long returns. Screw it. More business for Lowes.

Tried to exchange an unopened role of Ace painters tape for a different size. Rudest woman ever with 3 inch nails and a Karen cut wouldn’t let me exchange it because I didn’t know the date it was purchased. Thought it was the day before but *gasp* it might have been the day before. Seriously? The tape I bought cost less, btw. That said we have experienced her rudeness before and usually only come here if desperate because it’s closer. The Ace on Jacaranda is terrific.Apparently it’s not really the helpful hardware place at this location. Not to mention it’s a mess in there. Definitely better options. Choose another location.

The best shop in the area. All the stuff are great, they have everything and ordered what I needed.One day I forgot an item on the desk. When I went back it was on a bag to prepare for me. Was no question, they said apologize.. they are so kind and the owner, Brian is so helpful and communicative.High recommended.

This hardware must have changed hands? Once you dodge the sink holes in the parking lot you find the inside to be dirty. I’ll drive on down the road.

A charming little old school ACE Hardware store. I usually have a good experience and find what I need. There is a large work staff . Many try to be helpful. Some are surley and act like they resent the fact that they have to work andgive no more than a bare minimum effort. Such was my experience today. Absolutely no effort to guide me through a transition that must have been incredibly boring to her."Do you have a loyalty card? Yes. Silence. Just a blind stare. She wanted me to put my phone number into the card reader, but didn't have the courtesy to help me by telling me so. And so it went. Same thing when it was time to insert my credit card.I've had a good run visiting this store but see no reason to go back. There are lots of ace hardwares nearby.

The cashier was absolutely the rudest person i have ever dealt with. Managements excuse was she doesn't feel good. Let her go home. We shouldn't have to deal with her issue. Sad love shopping here.

There are always several staff available to help figure out whatever problem I come in with, and all of them are very experienced and happy to help. Mike was great helping me puzzle things out today. The level of service at Kyle's is a whole different world to what I normally see at a big box hardware store.

This has been my go to store for 15 years. Imagine my surprise when I shopped there today after moving to the south side. I tried to use the five dollar coupon that the post office sent me when I moved and changed addresses. The sales clerk said they don’t take them because people get them from all over. I said , I moved and it was in my new address pack , she said she didn’t care. Last time I go there and will tell every one of my old and new neighbors about this so we can boycott you. After all, I hear a new Ace will be opening on Jacaranda,, just as easy to go there.

I love Kiles! The staff is incredibly helpful and you feel almost like family when you walk in the door. You never have to search for an available associate to help you, the customer service is engaging and pleasant. Selection is fairly good when compared to Home Depot or Lowe's, they have most everything that a handyman or DIY'er might need for your everyday projects. The staff more than makes up for any lack if inventory in the store. Best selection of hardware in Venice though! If it's nuts and bolts that you need, Kile's is the place to go.

Reminds me of our hometown store where i grew up in Indiana. I think its better than home depot, the employee's are friendlier. If you cant find what you're looking for in the big stores, come to Kile's; they have a bit of everything.

do not recommend this place at all! bought screws for $181, 4 days later wanted to return the surplus worth like $40 - unopened boxes, factory condition, unused at all, just surplus. They refused saying they do not return staff purchased for Irma hurricane home preparation - even in untouched condition surplus. Thank you so much AceHardware, while every other company now offering some hurricane relief benefits you know how to screw people up and take advantage of natural disaster.

Very helpful staff, you literally can't walk in without some offering to help you. Much better than the big box home stores. Great selection in a small store, very quick to get in, get what you need, and get to your project. You can still buy individual nuts, bolts, screws from bins (so you just get what you need) from a wider range of sizes than Home Depot and Lowes.Only thing I don't like about Kiles is the early closing hours compared to HD/Lowes.

My family had just moved to FL from Oregon. We went for a bike ride on the Legacy trail and my 4yr olds bike handle bar lost a bolt. We saw that there was an Ace close and stopped in to get a replacement. The employees in the store were so unfriendly to us. They followed us around the store like we were going to steal something. Finally, he showed us where the lose nuts and bolts were but then he just stood there not saying anything, just staring at us like a stocker. Someone else even asked him for help and he still stood there and called another employee to help that person. I finally said to my husband "we're obviously not welcome here so, we will wait for you outside by the bikes". My daughter had great behavior in the store. We weren't dressed like thugs. There was no reason for his peculiar behavior. Nevertheless, I have and will not go back there. I drive the extra distance to go to the Osprey store. Where the employees are friendly and don't make me feel like a criminal. Plus, the Osprey store is much newer, cleaner and more organized. First Impressions Do Matter!

The best hardware store trip ever!At 3pm on a Saturday we found a small leak from our kitchen sink drain. I identified the issue, a worn out gasket.Where to go... We dreaded the thought of driving, parking, wandering around searching for the right aisle, then standing in line at HD or Lowes. Our last trip was not enjoyable. Fortunately Kile's ACE Hardware is 2 miles from the house. Drove there, walked in and had real people show us exactly what we needed to fix the issue. Then we bought other stuff to work on a few projects, wireless doorbell, window screen, spray paint, caulking... We even had a few laughs with the people helping us! Checkout was a breeze. The whole visit was under 10 minutes!!If you need to get something done, start at Kile's ACE Hardware first!

Went in for a nut & bolt, decided to get some garden supplies. The hardware man directed me to garden area, informed me there were carts if needed, then met me in garden supplies to see if I needed assistance. He really was " the helpful hardware man".

Had our first experience with the Nokomis Ace Hardware Kile's Ace Hardware and just have to post here to rave about how friendly they are. Will never go to a big box store again anytime I can avoid it. I read about an awesome paint that Ace carries for doors & windows called Alkatex so I went on their website only to find out that the Nokomis store doesn't carry it. I clicked the "email store" button to inquire and the owner emailed me back the very same day, on a Sunday, to offer to special order the paint for me. Customer service is alive & well at Nokomis Ace. So happy we moved here!
