Went into the store tonight to get some bandages.. walked in and the cashier and her coworker both saw me and didn’t say a word. Not “hello” or “Let me know if I can help you” nada but when this white lady came in there less than 2 mins behind me… the cashier excitedly says Hi, How are you?!” I wish I received the same respect as the lady who came in after me but sadly because of the color of my skin.. I did not.I go to this store all the time and never had a problem until now. The girl working the cashier was a heavy set young girl with brownish hair. Please learn to treat your customers the same!

Good prices but very outdated store. Needs upgrades. Mostly used by older locals and the military as the base entrance is about 2 miles away from store. Needs a good face lift badly. Almost always cluttered isles. Good prices for a quick stop shop though in and out fast. Very friendly efficient staff.

The Dollar General is a really good place to pick up just about anything that you need. Friendly cashiers. 90% of the time the place is pretty clean. But they do have a tendency to Overstock each aisle. But other than that it's a good place to go we need to go in quick and fast just to get a few things.

You can get just about anything you want or need here, not half bad place, shelves were a tad bit bare in certain areas, but nothing you wouldn't expect from a smaller place on the weekend in flordia. If they keep up the good work, I would bet they could convince me to give it a four or five star.

Needs improvement. Stuff on dollies are in the way, they need people at night to stock, not when it busy. I am disabled an at times there isn't enough help so you try to get something you have to try an move yourself. And had lung surgery. It is sad. The dolly room has not enough space to store product. Organizing is needed badly.

It was absolutely filthy & in such disarray I was shocked. The cashier was talking trash about another employee to one employee that was leaving the whole time she was checking me out. She must have realized the look on my face because she said sorry its been a long day. This is the 3rd time I have had this experience in the Niceville store. I think I am going to apply for a manager position in this store!

I would give more Stars as this location has "cleaned up" inside n outside of store. However, the home goods isles were, once again blocked with carts full of new arrivals.I've gone to DG to get some frames, mirrors n wall decs only to see isles blocked so I've turned around n left. I've also noticed the number if cars in parking lot, knowing a location only has 1 cashier, that I've turned around and left without entering store.When shopping for Christmas lights n decorations, though advertised, the items were not received.I will give higher ratings to any of the 4 DG locations I shop, on a weekly bases should I notice improvements or even attempts to make improvements.

This store has gone down hill. I went in there a few months ago and the floors were filthy. The shelves were unorganized and in disarray. It almost looked like a storm had blown through it. I left immediately. I normally shop at Dollar General down on hwy 20 in Niceville which a well maintained store. I will never ever go to the DG in Valparaiso again!

I was obnoxoiously rushed. 🤦🏼‍♀️One of the workers was so intent on getting us out, down to the minute that he was yelling.As someome who has PTSD, he triggered a negative reaction in me, even making me accidentally purchase a diet soda because i became so frazzled. It may seem petty but really ruined the rest of my evening, while stirring up some horrific emotions as well internally.I wont be returning here.

No buggy's. Manager told me it wasn't her responsibility to keep buggy's in store. If I wanted a buggy. Get one from other side of parking lot. Huge a$$ parking lot.. left store won't return

love having the Dollar Generals easy to get to. Their corporate plan is very convenient for a lot of folks especially here in rural communities. We have two new stores going in within 30 miles of us. And one more just over that. It'll be great for a lot of people. But the stores in Defuniak Springs are often understaffed and very messy. They lack having good managers and that's a problem. Stuff on the floor and messy hard to get around. But that generally just seems to be in our immediate area here. Otherwise I enjoy having the Dollar Generals.

Aisles are always crowded by stock not being worked. Store is dark and appears to be dirty. The only good thing is that the cashier was very friendly. He made the experience better.

This particular location had a lot of items in isles to be put on shelves. Of the items (clothing) on sale, all were mixed on with items not on sale. Occassionally, when I'd find something I want in my size, it is the same article of clothing but the color if dots differ. New shipment, yet that's the only difference.

Conveniently located between Valparaiso and Niceville, this location is the closest thing to a grocery store in approximately 2-3 miles. A few minutes walk from Turkey Creek and other waterfront areas nearby makes it a nice store for last minute supplies, or a forgotten bottle of sunscreen or drinks. Cons- it can get quite crowded at times, and some aisles have displays poorly placed. You can also commonly and annoyingly find the huge carts containing unstick products usually placed in a already tight aisle, making it impassable with a cart. My biggest con is that the store is understaffed at all times and the wait in the line is painful, or during slower times at checkout you may be waiting on an employee to realize you're ready or have to search them down. They sadly do not take WIC but they do accept EBT, Credit and debit (chip reader works), and cash. Last few notes most of the staff is very friendly and helpful, sales are usually accurate, but most of the time the signs aren't removed after sales end so you find out during checkout the nice picture you have been eyeing was only %50 off a day or two ago. Last thing the beer cooler is never cold enough so beer is usually a little below room temp, so if you're like me and plan on popping one open as soon as you get home, you'll be a little upset. Overall I love the store and the digital coupons will save you tons of cheddar, there are a lot of negatives but somehow the positives keep my business and outweigh the negatives. :)

I go in this place nearly every week for months while my child does tae kwon do next door, usually to pick up gap items in my grocery or grab snacks for child for after class. Today, I was stopped and told I had to leave my bag (that has my wallet and personal items in it) at the front or leave it in my car because it's a back pack. I'm assuming this is to prevent theft, however, leaving my purse in my car or at the front is putting me at risk of theft. This have never been an issue. I've carried this same bag in dozens of times. I don't appreciate being treated like a thief or being told in order to shop I should put myself at risk for theft. Also, I never saw a sign posted. Maybe there was, but I did not see this, it could have been in the cluster of papers that litter the door, as if that's an effective way to notify of a policy. I don't think I'll be going back any longer.

I like dollar General. Great prices they do have some awesome products and they been keeping up thier store. Clean, products in the right location/price label, great staff, overall I like shopping there. Definitely a good place id suggest!

Nice store.there needs to be more room for the buggy though.they need to keep items in the back and weight for a space to place them.It is not easy trying to push the small tiny buggy in the maze of items all over.

Friendly staff they are quick to guide you in the right direction. But I do wish they had a wheel chair I could use with a basket attached. It would make shopping easier.

I like Dollar General. I treat them more like a convenience store. Prices at the Tom Thumb's in this county are rediculous! Happy shopping at Dollar General!

Although at times its difficult to navigate the aisles due to stock carts awaiting unloading, nothing beats DG for cleaning supplies, sodas, quick buys and great department values.
