Friendly staff & doctors just not good at following up. Took my dogs there for 10 years, neversaid they should have a well check. Just did their vaccinations. My 1 dog just died of a massive infection. He got his vaccinations a month ago. He showed us no signs of being sick.

This is 1 of the worst places ever, not just out of animal medical care. Everybody in town knows it, but it never really gets taken to task because people ultimately need whatever service they can get at the time of an emergency. The screenshot below is what happened to me there recently. Forgive my language but it was not only the result of my last problem there, but also almost every time I’ve been there my whole life coming to its limit. I went by there to follow up on my last visit with my 16 year old dog with cancer. They said the doctors weren’t there and that they would call me. They never called and 2 days later my dog’s condition changed late at night. I called their office and left a message asking to please call first thing in the morning. I still never got a call back, only this text back the next morning. This is typical of Matt Davis’ attitude in any situation, concerning an animal or not. He’s a snob and he’s a jerk. The 2 older ladies up front are the same way. The younger ladies and the other doctor, Dr Cone, are great. Anyway here is the screenshot. I replied saying what I thought about him once and for all and if anybody wants to see that they can email me or something. It was a little more personal and a little less about my dog, but I’ll put it on the table if you want to see it. EDIT: it continues to say that my screenshot upload it pending on here. I don’t know what all that’s about.

Don't have a pet emergency between 12 and 2 pm - vets take their lunch during that time. My wife waited 2 hours (arriving at 12:30 and leaving at 2:30). When asked why the vet had not gotten back from lunch at 2 pm, receptionist informed her that he had been called away to another emergency. What made my wife the most upset about that is that they had not informed her of that other emergency. She ended up taking our dog (with two 6-inch long and pretty deep scratches on her abdomen) to another vet in Tallahassee where the treatment of the dog took another 6 hours - obviously quite the emergency. Even with my wife leaving with an injured animal, no follow-up phone call to us from the vet or the receptionist finding out how our dog was doing and whether we had found a place to treat her. Lost customers for life with that treatment!

I switched to Animal Medical Clinic, based on word-of-mouth and so glad I did. My cat and dog have receive exemplary care at an affordable price. Dr. Davis is highly competent, but never pushes on necessary testing overall a rare find in a frequently opportunistic field.

Found two week old kitten took to vet office to check health status. Dr was very nice. kitten is healthy just needs to be bottle feed and loved.

This is a good animal clinic where I have generally had really good experiences over the years. Had a new adoptee, and was shown to a room pretty quickly. Vet was about 25 minutes late for the appointment, but was willing to take all the time needed to work with animal and answer all questions I had. My only criticism is I had to wait to checkout while office staff shared photos on cell phone to another staff. In opinion that could have waited, although this is a very busy clinic so maybe there is no later. Reasonably priced.

I should preface this with I never write reviews on business, but this has been a culmination of 10 years. I have spent literally thousands of dollars at this establishment and the vets that I have encountered there have been wonderful, heck all of the staff are great. With the exception of one. She’s the older receptionist. Every time I call she has a cantankerous attitude as if she’s bothered to be there. When I arrive at the appointment is no different. She told me today Bc my German shepherd dog was barking (which is what dogs do) I would have to bring her outside… what? That’s like me taking a child to the pediatrician and the baby is crying and the receptionist tellme I will have to take my kid outside. I have been going there for at least 10 years and I will no longer be going back. I hate to loose good vets but this lady has put me off for years.

We have been coming to this vet office for over 10 years. The staff are all wonderful animal loving people! They are the most reasonably priced vet office I’ve ever been to, all of the veterinarians are incredible and you cannot go wrong!

It's been a few years since my family and I took our dog to this clinic. Our dog has since passed away.The only time we went to this clinic was for a yearly exam. First off, we were told we didn't have an appointment. I had made one months prior. I was then told they would work us in. Once we were taken back to the exam room, the staff was rough with our dog. She was a very friendly, sweet dog.She was over ten years old and had been chewing her legs. I asked them to please be gentle with her, while taking blood. They proceeded to hold her and missed several times on finding a vein. They were holding her down and she was whining the whole time. I felt so bad for her. My two girls were also in the room and after we left were upset.That was the first and last time I have been to this clinic. We have another dog now and I would never take him to this place!

I just love this office. Everyone from the staff to the vets are wonderful! You can tell they do what they do because they love animals. All 3 of the vets there have gone above and beyond at some point for us and we really appreciate them.

Dismissed as soon as I asked for pricing, they aren't accepting new clients. The lady didn't even sound like she cared. 😒 I was a little disappointed because I've heard from around 3 people that this was the place to go.

Our family has been seeing Dr. Davis for years and Monticello Animal clinic has provided the BEST care for the lowest cost. We've seen all of the vets and they're all kind and have a passion for animal care. Dr. Davis is especially experienced with working breeds like our German Shorthair and knows how to handle their temperament. We make the hour drive to this office happily - they're the best around.

Always a good experience even under terrible circumstances. Always treated with respect and kindness. Did have a little trouble getting ahold of them on the phone to let them know I was in the parking lot for an appointment but that should resolve itself when covid 19 is under control. Line was busy for a few minutes.

Unfortunately our little dog Bandit needed to be euthanized. He was 17 years old. The staff was very kind and compassionate and could not have done a better job of helping me be comfortable while I said goodbye to my little guy.

Quick to get in a room, so less possibilities of animal conflict. ZERO stress in either vet or assistant, and totally comfortable chatting with us about our creatures. Not cheap, but more reasonable than urban vets, as this site is pure country. High recommend.

They are very helpful. We had a kitten that we found and it was too young to eat regular food so we needed a bottle. They sold us one for $2 and they were extremely nice and they helped us out a lot. Also a few months ago another cat of ours it's ear was swollen and I was afraid and I didn't know what was going on with it. I was scared but they checked him out and drained it and explained to me what it was and it didn't cost very much. His ear is permanently messed up but he's not on pain anymore. When I called them at first though they refused to see him because they said he was not a patient and they were not taking new patients but after my mom called back they discovered that he was a patient. But at first they were kinda rude

Bella and I absolutely adore the doctor and staff. They have a sincere love for animals and you can see it in what they do. They removed a tumor from my Bella and followed up with us periodically afterwards. Even the doc herself spoke with us.As long as they're there, we will be as well.

We recently relocated from NY and this was our 1st visit. Staff was very accommodating, and was able to give an emergency appointment for the same day. Staff very friendly, Dr. Cone was wonderful and very compassionate with our unfortunate loss of my beloved BubbaHyde and reassured us that our humane decision to put him to sleep was indeed good decision. Will most definitely use Dr. Cone again in the future!

We have been using this animal clinic for the past 10 years. Today, my mom and my sister went to take the dogs for their annual check-up. My sister is special-needs and my mom was concerned about leaving her alone in the car (only one person allowed because of COVID). So when she asked the front desk if my sister can come in as well, they asked how old and my sister is 20 (with her disability she is very dependent and needs supervision and guidance). The front desk lady laughed at my mom and when my mom came inside the lady was currently making fun of my mom and proceeded to be very rude and not look her in the eye.I am so surprised with this because usually we receive great service. They need to remember that everyone is experiencing trying times and how much kindness can take someone.

I have been using this vet for years and I am very dissatisfied with the professionalism of the current staff. I took my puppy to get fixed and they didn't give post op instructions. Only talked to the vet when he called to say everything went fine with surgery for a brief second and I had to call and find out about feeding, stitches, and everything else. Basically took my money gave me my dog and that was it. I am considering finding another vet that is more interested in there job and the well being of my dog.. I miss Dr. Purvis!!!
