Walked in the store yesterday and was impressed by the beautiful black poodle I saw from the window. The store has a small selection of dogs (compared to other shops), but the place is exceptionally clean and the dogs are beautiful.My only issue is the store’s policy on holding the dogs. When I asked to hold the poodle in this very empty store, the employee looked to her co-worker, who refused. She claimed the dogs were only 8 weeks old and were “still too young to hold.” Mind you, I’m an adult in her 40’s and I’ve owned dogs all my life. Further, her co-worker said the store “only allowed customers to hold their dogs if they were 100% sure they were buying them.”The vibe I got was standoffish. Listen, if I’m going to spend $3,000 on a puppy, which I was prepared to do…then I better get the chance to cuddle it first, check its temperament, etc. Interaction is important…especially if I’m going to invest my hard-earned money. In addition, the minimum age for selling young puppies in the state of Florida is 8 weeks, so the age component shouldn’t have been a big deal. These puppies were young, spry and ready for new homes.Petland (Town and Country) is also pricey, but provides a much smarter sales tactic by offering customers to interact with their puppies. They even provide a private cubicle - and their puppies are also 8-10 weeks old. So we chose to go to Petland afterward.Glad I did…because I was able to drop my $3,000 on a baby Maltese - WHICH I got to hold and cuddle beforehand.**Response to owner’s rebuttal: By the way, disallowing customers from handling your puppies as a way to preserve the puppies’ “health” is impractical and a poor sales tactic. The chances of these animals contracting an illness from a potential buyer, or the likelihood of that buyer transmitting a contagion from contact with another sick animal, is FAR more unlikely than the number of customers you risk losing for a potential sale. Yet, you are allowing this assumption to govern your business practice, which is a turn-off to most buyers. Why would I want to buy a dog from a store where customers are automatically deemed “infection risks”? Furthermore, your restrictions suggests that your puppies are possibly immunocompromised and can’t handle simple contact with the public. You should seriously consider modifying this policy.

I got a puppy from this store and they make everything to make you feel comfortable and secure with them, it was excellent until I found out they gave me the wrong information about the financial, I lost 1000$ “paying” to easy pay trusting what ZUSSELL told me, what she didn’t tell me, was if I don’t pay it all in 3 month I’m gonna have interest of 10$ per day since day one I have the contract. So now I lost 2000$ plus what I own to this financial company just because they didn’t say the truth since the beginning and everything just they can sell easy and “trustable “ what a lie, now my dog cost triple that I thought.

Excellent service, very professional and attentive Zusell was in constant communication with us until receiving the puppy here in Kentucky.
