We had a lovely stay at El Governor! Ideal for families and people who want to have a chill beach trip without tons of crowds. The new splash pad was a big hit with our young children, as well as the "tanning ledge" in the pool. We appreciated the full size fridge with freezer and kitchenette. We were able to bring almost all of the food we needed for our short trip and prepare it in our room. We liked how affordable, clean, and family friendly the resort was. We'll definitely be back!

Great place to stay. We used to come every year before the storm. So glad they're back up and running. We came in for our anniversary weekend. Had lots of fun. Weather didn't cooperate but our experience at the hotel was great. They were very accommodating. Staff was very friendly. The new rooms are beautiful. Definitely plan on going back.

Absolutely loved staying here! From the front desk ladies, to the beautiful accommodations, this made our stay here impeccable. We had a corner room and the views were amazing. This hotel has made a remarkable comeback since the devastation of Hurricane Michael in 2016. The restaurant Shipwreck was delicious and the little coffee shop Caribbean Coffee was just perfect for a morning pick me up before riding the coast back to Tallahassee.100%… we will be back for a longer stay!😁Rooms: Our room was a corner room on the 3rd floor. The view facing West provided a beautiful sunset and the balcony was very pleasant to sit on and watch the beach goers!!

This hotel has been “Crowned”👑 my family favorite hotel. This hotel is so clean and spotless. The hotel came with everything from mugs,cups,plates,coffee maker, utensils, iron and iron board, blow dryer and etc. They definitely invested in this property to make sure the customers get the best experience. The beach was heaven, the fact that the rooms overlook the beach was breathtaking. Thank you so much El Governor, can’t wait to book with you again!!!!

What an absolutely wonderful rebuild they have done! Everything is bright and super clean. You literally could throw a rock into the gulf! I love the new lvp flooring throughout. The towels are super plush! Everything you could possible need for a meal prep is provided. We spent 2 super windy chilly days and didn’t mine a bit because we could watch and listen to the waves lap in the comfort of our room. The people that run El Governor are extremely nice and helpful. Congratulations on a hugely successful comeback!

What a lovely and peaceful place in Mexico Beach. We had an unexpected trip for family reasons and Tangi and Kim were exceptionally accomodating. From the moment you walk in, the front desk staff to the housekeeping ladies were all very welcoming and kind. The place is spotless and very well kept. The gift shop offers such cute gifts at great prices! Each room has a kitchenette (microwave, full refrigerator with freezer, sink, and stove) and stocked with great essentials. The pool is heated and equipped with a handicapped seat for lowering into the water. and we loved how it has a large wading step and only went to 4.6 ft as we could enjoy sitting on the ledge that surrounded the pool while watching the kids play. Lots of indoor and outdoor loungers and seating poolside and at the bar. Steps and boardwalk right onto the beach. Beside the pool is a lovely sitting area with swings, shower and kiddie splash pad. I just can’t say enough about the entire stay and those responsible for running the site. We hope to be back again someday! Thanks ladies for everything!

We visited the El Governor during the week of Thanksgiving 2023. We are so glad that the hotel renovation is complete. All rooms are complete with balcony and full kitchen. The beach is especially beautiful, calm and peaceful. This year we are celebrating Thanksgiving and also our 58th wedding anniversary. Our days at El Governor could not have been better. The staff are so helpful and kind that we felt like family. Thank you for a perfect trip. We so look forward to staying with you again.

Really impressed with the location, and the cleanliness of the room was outstanding. And the check-in staff was very courteous, friendly and informative. My two night stay was very peaceful and the guests were friendly and pleasant. I'm already telling friends and Family to book at the El Govenor for the summer. I definitely will be booking again soon. This was my first visit and certainly not my last. There is nothing like and Ocean front view Hotel, the sound of the ocean was everything. Just sitting on the balcony of the hotel and looking out at the ocean was a beautiful moment for me. Thank you El Govenor!Safety: Well lit building. Garbage receptacles in proper place for easy disposal of garbage, properly working and well lit elevators, clear stairwells and walkways, luggage carts in proper designated area. Parking was great. Fire alarms in rooms. Secure room doors. Walkway to ice machines clear.Walkability: Clean and well lit environment. Sidewalk availability for exercising.Food & drinks: The food restaurants there were excellent. Friendly staff .

We came down for new years to enjoy the peaceful tranquility of Mexico Beach! The El Governor holds a special place in my heart. My Sisters and their family understands now why the whole experience is very dear to me. I can’t come to Mexico Beach without staying at the El Governor!Rooms: I love the new renovations! We’ve been coming here for years and we’re so glad to see the place restored with careful attention to the way it used to be while still giving graceful nods to the future of Mexico Beach. The El Governor holds a special place in my heart on a very personal level. It is a peaceful throwback to how the Forgotten Coast once was.Rooms: Clean and cozy. We came in on Thanksgiving afternoon, hadn’t eaten, checked in, asked the girls behind the desk what might be open for food and they said nothing but go right in the back here and get you a plate. They had just had their staff Thanksgiving and offered us a plate. Very kind, very respectful, very nice room, great view and we just enjoyed our much needed relaxing restful long weekend.Thank you, El Governor, Mexico, Beach FloridaSincerely,Sean and Roni DavisRooms: The room was very nice. We had to open the door so we could hear the ocean at night since the windows do not open but otherwise we had a wonderful room very nice remodel. It was nice that they gave us a card to make suggestions for things that may need to be in the rooms or updated which was not much but a few things. Definitely satisfactoryFood & drinks: A lot of food trucks since hurricane Michael. We did eat at shipwrecked for breakfast and the crabcake eggs Benedict was fantastic. We stopped in at Mango Marley’s for a cocktail and enjoyed the atmosphere there as well.

The El Governor is by far mine and my husband's favorite place to stay when we want to get away for a beach vacation. The rooms are clean. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need. The housekeeping dept is great they even leave a towel exchange bag at your door everyday for easy towel exchange. The management and employees are great. They even simplified check out with a sign to hang on your door. The atmosphere is great and the beach is so relaxing with beautiful sunsets. They have a great gift shop with everything you need. Love this place!!!

We had an amazing New Year's visit. It was the first time we had stayed at El Governor Beach Resort and it did NOT disappoint. We will be back.Rooms: The rooms are really nice and had great views.Walkability: Getting to the beach was really easy and not a long distance to walk to get on the beach.Noteworthy details: My daughter is handicapped. The staff was amazing in helping us with our stay to accommodate her. Overall our stay was very pleasant. The gift shop had alot of nice items with fair prices. I can't say enough about the staff. They were all very friendly and helpful.

For the price its just too expensive. You can get a nicer room at a nicer beach for the same price or a little less somewhere else on the coast.Rooms: Rooms are old and smell a little funny
