The staff was very polite, helpful, and friendly. I brought my cousin's dog in there a couple years ago when she got poisoned. I was hysterical and tears because I loved that dog. The veterinarians and the staff that were helping the vet were very helpful they we're not acting at all afraid of the fact that she was a pitbull like some people tend to. Instead of muzzling her they chose to keep it off of her because she was already suffering enough as it wasThe one that assistant was actually opening up her mouth with her hands rinsing it out all kinds of stuff she was not showing any fear whatsoever. They asked me what kind of dog she was and when I told them they took heat of that and treated her like the dog that I knew. Lovable friendly and not one that would ever injure anybody. They try to make sugar as comfortable in her last hours as possible. They were also in constant contact with me even after my cousin came in to be with his dog while she got put down they were calling me up and giving me a play-by-play. all because they knew that I was the one that brought her in when I found her and that I loved her and so they treated me like I was her owner just as much as he was her owner. If any of the staff reads this I just want to tell you if you remember, Sugar, thank you so much for everything you guys did for her. God bless you.

I will never go back to this vet again!! I have never had to wait 3 weeks for puppies to have a negative fecal to receive health certificates! Every other vet that I’ve been to the longest I’ve ever had to wait is 3 days. It took me 3 visits and 3 weeks. There should be a different process. Check the fecals first and make sure they are clean before issuing shots and forcing you to wait 3 weeks to get rid of the puppies the the health certificate is only good for a few days. It also makes no sense that all my puppies were in the same pen and all the males would have clean fecals a week before all the females.Also, I had an appointment for 6 puppies and when it was my appointment time they had no rooms available. Asked me to bring in the puppies and they would take them back, so I brought in two and they had me wait holding two 10 lb puppies in the lobby after they had told me they were ready. After waiting I said I couldn’t hold them and had to go wait in my car where the rest of the visit was held.

Staff was friendly and got me in quickly. However they apparently are not familiar with Rottweiler behavior and want me to drug my dog to see him. He is very vocal when he doesn't like something or is nervous. He was muzzled, fur shaved over a raw open spot, given shots so he was very vocal but they don't know the difference between that and an actual growl so they've labeled him aggressive. The fact that once done and unmuzzled half the staff were petting him and he's extremely loving doesn't matter. Will not be back I need someone experienced with Rottweilers not afraid of them!

The whole staff was very polite professional. And took me in at a last minute notice for an appointment for my puppy. Happy they were able to help me out the same day. Will definitely be back for other visits

Our visit here was right after another vet had harshly turned us away and scared the pants off of me.!! They took us right in and I just had a sense of calmness and trust. The got my total loyalty that day. We will continue to be a patient at Lake area hospital. I truly believe my sweetheart willow is in the best hands.

Worst bet I’ve ever been to not only did they conduct their self in an unprofessional manner and overcharged. They issued health certificates that expired in 30 days and didn’t actually give me the paperwork until eight days of its Expiration and refused to re-issue it for 30 days at the point that I actually got the health certificate. How many are in? To get health certificates for six dollars costing me over $1000 by the time they were done. I will never ever go there again and I would never refer anybody to go to that place

Dr. Hughes and Tracy were very sweet with us and our pigeon. I am a worrier and they were patient and great with explaining things. Front desk staff is very polite and gets you in quickly.

Five stars because everyone there seems to genuinely care about their four-legged customers. Staff members are kind, the Melrose location is super clean, our dog has gotten very good care there. This is not a deal-breaker, but I would love to have a more familiar feel, doctor-wise. We have probably been there 4-5 times, and each time, we have a different doctor coming in the room. It's a little bit different for us as we come from a place where our pet's doctor was the same yesterday, today and tomorrow! I guess we are just in a more populated place here, and that is how it goes! Again: not a deal breaker because good care and quality customer service have been provided time and time again! :)

On July 9th 2023 I had to put my puppy Ford down due to cancer. That in itself is a very trying episode. Dr. Hughes and her staff were very helpful through the whole process and made it easier and kinder for Ford to cross rainbow bridge. I really appreciate all I did for my family and for my puppy whom I miss a lot.

Extremely reasonable prices. The staff very friendly, didn't force sales on me. Gave me a printout of all options and told me to think about it. That's how service should be! They called the following day just to check on my pup. What more can you ask for.

We dropped our dog off there on 4/20 for them to board her for a few days while we were out of town. We picked her up on 4/24. The staff there was extremely nice. They took really good care of our puppy dog.

Was disappointed for the first time. My girls was given a bath and wasn't dried. I took them home wet. No one said a word about the large boil on my dog foot,even though I had ask was it something to be concerned about. Again I wasn't informed about the increase in prices.

My very first visit to Lake Area Veterinarians was as a walk -In. I was very impressed with the Staff, making sure that my kitten (Solo) would be seen. (Solo) will be seeing his new Vet on his July appointment . Dr. Antz retired on (Solo's) first appointment. She was very nice. I wish her all the best.

Always a pleasure to bring my sweet fur babies there . Staff is great and can't say enough about the vets ! They have saved two of my dogs ! And when it comes time for my fur babies to cross that rainbow bridge , well they were so caring . They even went out of their way to come to my house ! And pricing is very reasonable ..Thank you for all you do !!

Carol the groomer is the best! One of my fur babies has special needs and she is very gentle and caring when she grooms them. Very happy so far with the grooming. The only reason for 4 stars is because the boarding rooms need a good cleaning and maintenance. Hopefully management will make sure this is fixed. 😃

We switched to companion after being with Lake Area for 10 years! Much better and cheaper. They don't nickel and dime you for every little thing. The new staff is terrible and rude! Bring back Jones!! Kinda odd how majority of the staff all left at once

We are from CT spending some time helping at Lake Swan Camp. Our dog who has late stage liver issues was having issues holding his food down. LA AH got him in right away! Treated our dog and us with respect. We got a few recommendations for medications and later that day his food stayed down. Thanks for being so understanding and helpful! God Bless all of you!

Went to have our dog, bathed and brushed out! Dropped her off at 8:30 am told me she would be ready a little after 2. Not ready till after 4:30. And didn't even brush her out! Sorry to say, not pleased all with this bathing experience, also nails not even done good!

Brought my Dawg in the other day and talked to Tracy. She is Very Professional and Knowledgeable in the veterinary field. I thought she was actually the doctor. She is Truly a Asset to the Business. She is Very Caring and Compassionate towards both the Patient and the Owners. She has a Smile and a genuine love for animals that is just So Very important to make a bad situation turn Good with a Smile!!

This review is for the Melrose office only. My dog was limping, so:1. I took him there to help him. They took X-Rays. $400 later not only they didn't help heal him, but I was told they couldn't tell what's wrong. They literally told me they are not "X-Ray specialists" I may need to go to an orthopedic dr or call UF. $400 for that?2. I live in Hawthorne. I took him to their Melrose office because they told me the Hawthorne office didn't have an X-Ray....that office later told me that they've had an X-Ray for couple years.3. I was also told my dog needs his rabies shot. I explained he just had it 2 weeks ago at our Orlando Vet (my other house) whose info I gave them earlier. I asked if they checked? The assistant said "I don't know, this is just what I'm reading". So they finally called and confirmed, he did.My dog is still limping. I have to find a vet who can help him or at least interpret the X-Rays hundreds of dollars later.

I took my sisters cat in there a week ago or so and had the most amazing experience. I was babywearing my daughter and holding a huge cage with the cat inside. They were so gentle and loving with shadow (sisters cat). When we were leaving, one of the nurses took him out to my car for me where I wasn't struggling with a baby and a cat haha anyways. Cannot recommend enough! Such sweet women working in there.
