This bait and tackle shop it a small store on the side of the road on a busy road. If you blink you could miss it. But all the staff we encountered were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about all their products, where fish are biting and best times to fish. I highly recommend this shop!

I didn't know anything about fishing, but my boy asked for it. This was our first time ever. After spending almost the whole day without catching anything, we came here for help just a short time before sunset. In a matter of minutes, they hooked us up with the necessary rigs and baits, along with instructions on what to do. We went back to the beach, and my boy caught a few fishes, jumping from excitement. These guys saved the day. We ate the fish the next morning. Thank you for making my boy and me have a great day! We'll be back.

Colin at Black Dog hooked me up. He gave me the straight info on the fishing down here this time of year. Had no idea about the fishing down here and he set me up right with a couple whiting and pompano rigs. Went out the next day and caught a couple whiting and had them for dinner tonight. Great prices, and they open early so you can just pop in for bait on your way to the beach. Black Dog is my go-to bait shop whenever I'm headed to the Melbourne Beach / Sebastian Inlet area.

I really like going here, but the pricing has bit me in the rear a time or two. I want to blame it on Melbourne Beach. Maybe the city charges business more to operate...I don't know, but went in for a pack of fish bites, about 4 3oz weights and a dozen shrimp.. was charged 31.00...didn't add up to me. The folks that work there are good people though and they know their stuff. Basic bait pricing and a nice little selection of just about everything you will need to catch what's in the area or if you are headed offshore. Muuuuch better than going to BassPro or Strike Zone! Definitely one of the better bait shops in the area.

My go to bait and tackle spot, every Sunday I stop in to buy a few things and am treated like family. These people are amazing and always helpful. Just started a YouTube channel called (Coastal Casting) maybe one day I can advertise for them. Their prices are more then fair and the bait is fresh, usually get some great size shrimp too. I highly recommend to stop in and check them out. Very knowledgeable and always helpful, thank you black dog bait and tackle.

My husband and I bought a bucket with air pump for bait, shrimp, sand fleas and a red pair of pliers and completely walked out with everything but the pliers. The other customers were pretty friendly too.

Family owned, friendly staff and great service. I've been coming to this place for over 10yrs. I don't live in this area but this is my go to place for live bait when heading to sebastian inlet Park.My air pump was not turning on and I thought it was the battery so I purchased batteries. They were super pricey $4 for two batteries but I expect that from any small business establishment. I put the new batteries in and it still didn't work 😒. The young gentleman that got my bait took the air pump from me, popped out his tools and started working on it. That alone was above and beyond in my book. He really tried but it was my pumps last breath 😪. He gave me some really good tips on maintenance for the new one I purchased. In total I paid $23 and change for a new small air pump, two batteries and 3 dozen live shrimp. I will say the majority of the shrimp were super small but I know times are rough now with this pandemic so in all, it's a great place to get your fresh live bait.

Amazing customer service, I was on my way to Whitey’s when I decided to stop here with my wife. Ended up purchasing 2 dozen live shrimp and 1 dozen pin fish. Also purchased a new rod and they spooled it there for me. My favorite tackle shop in Melbourne, FL. Highly recommended!

Last weekend was my first visit to this location. They had a pretty good selection of supplies and baits. And the staff was well educated on fishing and offered relevant advice. The down side is parking is not that good and is kind of a pain to get in and out. I would recommend, parking across at the beach and walking. Over.

The staff is very knowledgeable and they usually have a good supply of live shrimp, mullet, pinfish, croakers, and some grunts. They have a lot of hooks and weights inside and a ton of lures as well as rods, reels and line.
