They have the best selection and price for meats! Make sure you stop in on Fridays and Saturdays they have super specials on those two days.The ladies in the front are always very friendly and the butchers in the back are always around to help if you have questions or need a different meat that what's packaged.Love this store!

Great little store, nothing fancy, just plain no frills but we found fresh steaks and a few other items we needed, including chocolate covered glazed donuts. Staff was very friendly. If you are camping at Royal River Retreat or visiting Peacock Springs stop by Thriftway.

Thriftway in Mayo FL is a great store. Firstly the store is much larger than it appears to be from the outside. The selection of fresh produce and meat is excellent. The produce and fruits looked fresh and appealing. The store had a much better selection than big city stores like P****x or W**n D**e. The pricing was good and the staff very pleasant and helpful.

Nice that it's close to home but raising prices because they are the closest and basically only grocery store is wrong. 5.00 for a gallon of milk is ridiculous. They have some good prices on their sales but that is just for the sale days. I would shop there full time if they lowered their prices so I didn't have to drive 20 minutes to a larger less expensive store.

My favorite hometown grocery store. I have extremely fond memories growing up in Mayo and grocery shopping at Thriftway. The tradition is carried on today when I make my visit back to see the family in Mayo or Minnie things have changed one thing has not which is Thriftway grocery store, they continue to provide a good selection of groceries for the local community without having to drive out of town. I am particularly impressed with the fresh meats they offer. The staff is always friendly, courteous and willing to help.

I actually love this little grocery store! If you look around you'll find good deals on a lot of different things, especially the meat! They have a good variety of meat and at good prices, I was very impressed!!Also: the butcher talked to me today and told me about a huge meat sale going on Friday and saturday. He also told me to check out and follow their Facebook page to stay updated on all of their deals! Mayo thriftway!

First time I've been there, and it was pretty good. Reasonable prices, good selection of products, locally grown beef and produce. I'll definitely be back while I'm staying on the Suwannee River. Can't wait to make beef stew tonight.

Good old fashion country shopping. Well stocked with plenty of variety. Prices were very reasonable and staff was friendly. I was visiting from out of town and staff was very helpful making recommendations for dinning options. Great job! 5 stars all the way.

My wife & I like to go here because it is local, they have some items we can't get elsewhere. We like most of the employees. There is just one employee, maybe a manager from what I am told who is never happy, when you say hello, good morning or afternoon depending on their day they will or will not acknowledge you. I avoid this person if I can. Sorry but it makes me not want to come in when someone looks like they hate everyone. Everyone else is great though.

Only grocery store in Mayo, FL and next closest around is 1 hr away. Great meat selection and reasonable prices for the portion size. The remaining grocery prices reflect that Thriftway is the only deal in town. Be ready with your wallet.

This store is within walking distance of my house — convenient. Yet I never shop here. Instead, I drive 21 miles to Winn Dixie in Live Oak. Why? Super-spreader central. No masks required and for the most part, none are worn by customers. Employees never wear masks and no barrier between cashiers and customers. Winn Dixie thanks Thriftway for steering customers their way!

We went to thrift way today at the suggestion of our friend who is a DJ. We saw that there was a couple of meat items that where discounted. When we arrived the store looked dank and dirty outside. But we pushed onwards Upon entering we found a store that was small and cramped. Many of the light bulbs weren’t on, the freezer door handles where falling off. The freezers had frozen icicles on the ice cream. Heck, I even picked up a steak sauce and found it had been leaking on the shelf. We went ahead and shopped even though it wasn’t very nice. My wife had a lady standing in her way in one of the isles and ask if she could get by. The lady never even acknowledged her ( she ended up being one of the managers). When checking out I mentioned that our DJ friend who advertises for them sent us. She didn’t even have the courtesy to even respond. My wife said she doesn’t care. To which the cashier responded “ I don’t even know who your talking about” we spent over 200.00 there. We will never be back! Their staff are the most unfriendly people I have ever met.

I didn't really shop here. I was actually caught up with doing laundry across the street. It was busy when I was in there. The young man working the front end appeared to be very young. (Judgmental I know.) I simply needed change for the laundromat. It seemed like I was asking for something huge..."I can't give you $10 worth of quarters. We might need them." If there's ever a next time... I'll buy a soft drink and ask for the change in quarters.In all honesty, we're outside of our comfort zone here and I just needed change for the wash. So far, it's the only experience we've had here in Mayo that hasn't felt small town friendly. I felt like I wasn't really welcome. Everyone else we've met has been wonderful!

The people are nice. As for the food... great deals but mostly going bad. I'm not sure why but every time I come here they have something molding. The food on the shelf isnt the best either. Like I said great "deals" but check the expiration date. I believe theyve gotten better but definitely check the dates on the baby food. I have bought expired baby food one too .any times.
