Dori owner of Marathon Florist took my wedding floral vision and made it into a day I will never forget. She really considered my vision with our budget. The word “no” was not in her vocabulary she found a way to make things work! she created the most stunning oval alter and circular bridesmaid florals! The driver who was delivering in Key West yesterday on 3/29/2024 was as rude as they get with a total attitude. She even mouthed profanity at 2 little girls at the corner near the Hemingway house. This 1 star review is a direct letter to the business owners that their employee is the representation of their business. The business owners livelihood is left in the drivers hands.

Picking a florist was the most nerve wracking part of the wedding planning process, because I did not know how to help someone see my vision from afar. The moment I messaged Dori, I knew she was the one. She did not give me a cookie cutter response, she really listened to me, my flower choices, my goals, and she responded in a way, that I knew that she got me and my vision! For a moment, I had a scare, because someone else had gotten to Dori about my date first, but then all the stars aligned and she told me that she was all mine. I was so right about her.Due to Covid-19, the unthinkable happened and we were postponed. My now husband and I were absolutely devastated. Dori, along with all of my other vendors, rallied together to find me a new date for our wedding, and they stood by me through the entire quarantine and replanning process. I got frequent unsolicited texts from Dori, just to ask if I was ok. She answered every text I ever sent, whether frantic, at an inappropriate hour, etc... She was always there for me, to keep my spirits up and keep me positive. Then as our new wedding date approached, we were threatened with a hurricane cancellation. Dori never faltered, she stayed strong for me and when the day finally came, it was a dream come true! My vision and my dream, was brought to life even better than I imagined; and without a single drop of rain. Our wedding was absolutely magical, and I am thankful, everyday, that I found the right team, and the most amazing florist ever. If you are even mildly contemplating whether or not Dori is a good fit... STOP driving yourself crazy!! SHE IS YOUR GIRL!Thank you, Dori for everything! I could not have asked for better and I will be forever grateful to you, my friend!!!

Dori with Marathon florist was wonderful!! I was planning my wedding in the Keys from Sarasota and she was always so helpful and responsive through emails! I sent her inspiration pictures and gave her an idea of what I wanted and the day of the wedding I was blown away! She really brought my vision to life! Dori definitely has an eye for flowers and is so great at what she does. She came by the room herself the day of the wedding to drop off the personals, so sweet! All of the arrangements were beautiful! I am so glad we chose her for our wedding and we would recommend her to anyone!

Dori did an amazing job! Our reception centerpieces, bouquets, boutonnière, and arch for our ceremony was beautiful. She patiently helped me figure out just what I wanted. The day of delivery was flawless. I did not have to worry or think twice about when and where everything was delivered. When I showed up at our venue the arch was put in place and we were even able to reuse the floral arrangements on the arch for the bride and groom table. Highly highly recommend working with Dori! She does beautiful work.

I want to thank J&J florists for their efforts to deliver flowers on my dad's 88th birthday. I called them from Thailand and they went above and beyond as their driver had already left for Big Pine with the orders for that morning. They still managed to find a way to get my Dad's flowers to him on his Birthday! My Dad was so surprised and loved the arrangement. Highly recommended first class operation. Dori from Marathon Florist did a fabulous job at my daughter's wedding on April 23rd. The bridal party looked gorgeous with their hydrangea bouquets that were full and just right. The tables at our venue were exactly what we wanted- beachy and casual, but elegant at the same time! Dori was a dream to work with and her execution of our plan was spot on!

In planning for my wedding, I did a crazy amount of research on all vendors. I visited KW to meet in-person with vendors, except for Dori at Marathon Florist (an hour drive). I did have a call with Dori before the trip. There are different Keys florists: 1. Wedding/Event Specialists, 2. Everyday Florists, and 3. Hybrids. Dori is most definitely the first. Due to our immediate connection, her extensive experience, positive reviews, owner-to-bride attention only, and passionate personality – my decision was a no brainer and I went with her.Dori’s warm personality, passion, and spirit is evident each time we spoke – even over text. Dori will and does work around the clock for her brides and is one of the hardest worker’s I know. Her shop is adorable, packed with décor to choose from, and always has an open door for her brides.Dori’s floral and décor work at our wedding were beyond amazing (will add pics soon). My mom is a designer and she was blown away how impeccable Dori did with the decoration, and that is a lot coming from my mom. Additionally, her prices are reasonable for the market. She is not over priced like some wedding florists.Little did I know the amount of continuous one-on-one communications and overall fun/excitement we both equally had designing my wedding. We legit became good friends and communicated about things that had nothing to do with the wedding. Eventually, we were completing each other’s sentences.Make your life easy and hire Marathon Florist. Flowers, décor, and service is out of this world. And, the experience couldn’t have been better!!!

Magical Wedding!Dori with Marathon Florist is THE BEST! Dori took my niece’s vision board and created the most amazing wedding. Dori’s passion, her uniqueness, and her creativity are magical! Honestly, there isn’t a thing we would have changed. My niece held her destination wedding weekend in Islamorada for 140 guests. The ceremony was beachside, the cocktail hour and reception were outdoors under the stars. Thanks to Dori, the florals and décor were magnificent, even more than we dreamt of. I had called and needed a single bouquet for a small beach wedding in Key West. I spoke to Dori and explained the size I wanted and the amount I wanted to spend, she asked for specifications and I told her the colors I like and just trusted her. The women who runs this place really does amazing work! I picked up my now sisters-in-law’s wedding bouquets and such. They were beautiful but the store itself made me want to yell “shut up and take all my money” and if I didn’t have to lug everything back to Michigan in a carry on luggage I would have. Very professional and made every step for my sister-in-law super smooth!

Tried on three different occasions when it said it was open to come buy flowers for my wife but the doors are always locked. I guess they're not interested in local business. Pretty sad since the only other option is Publix or Winn-Dixie. I won't be coming back a fourth time.
