Today I visited the store to buy a pencil that I pay .20 cent I Home Depot. I was surprised that they had two different marks, one for $2.99 and the another one $1.00 . I choose the $1.00 but the charge me $1.69. ridiculous. Next time I 'lI go to Home Depot.

The store is well stocked with nice selections. However, the staff was rude and uninterested in being helpful.We were purchasing beach umbrellas and kitchen items which we knew were a bit overpriced but we decided to pay for the convenience. They rung up the purchase and we asked if they wanted our Ace Rewards number. They said “No, it’s too late. You should have told us before we rung it up.” We asked them to please cancel and rering the sale. They refused. They do not appear to care about their customers. They appear to be doing us a favor.

It's been a while since I have been here but had to leave a review because it didn't sit well with me. Right when you walk in you sure do not feel welcomed. Husband and I went to purchase an item and asked the price because there wasnt any tags on any of them. Very over priced but we bought it anyways. The reason for the one star review was the story he gave us of how they have a guy custom make them in town that's why the price is the way it is. When we already saw a sticker that said Made In China. Then as we went outside and walked to see the little park in the back for like 10 minutes same guy was staring us down getting back into our car. We just bought your overpriced lie, man.....

Living on the island and being a real estate broker I am constantly in need of fixing something and if this hardware store wasn’t here so much time would be wasted. The employees are so helpful as well you can call ahead with a paint color and they will have it ready. Only complaint I have is there are people off island who park there and walk to the beach and this gets in the way of day to day business. I wish they would monitor and ticket as it’s not a beach parking lot.

Went in to buy a fan I found on line. 2:30 pm Sunday November 20, 2022. 3 men standing at the counter talking. I waited a second and asked for directions to the fans. I immediately got 3 different answers. I began walking to the back to find it and one of them yelled isle 8. I also neededbatteries. I didn't attempt asking for directions to those. NO customer service and overpriced merchandise!

Definitely not the home of the "helpful hardware man". Employees are very well balanced - chips on BOTH shoulders. One advantage this store has is if you don't want to have to leave the island, it's right there which is the only reason I've sporadically patronized the place for the past 16 years.

The Longboat Ace Hardware is located on a long barrier island with a single through road, so driving many miles to get there is a given for many customers. I'd think they'd understand this and be used to customers calling ahead to ensure what they need is in stock. I'm assuming others are like me in not liking to rely on hope that an item will be in stock when drive many miles to get it is involved.So, when I call and all I can get is a surly "probably," I'm more inclined to drive a couple of miles further to a place that is more helpful. And less expensive... the "island markup" at this Ace can be eye-watering.

Super stocked store with thousands of items. The employees were plentiful. Most seemed knowledgeable. There were s lot of vacationers coming and going. Fun little store to look around in. They have hardware items, home improvement items and gift items too.

People were not much help and they should be looked at for price gouging I went to Walmart and payed for a full size 25ft tape measure for the price they were asking for the smallest one you can buy the kind you would put in a toolbox made for a child

Forrest was great and very helpful, but it was very disappointing that they were not participating in the promotion for 20% for children's hospitals. That was the main reason why we chose to purchase from ace, and the fact that they were not makes me less likely to want to come back again.

They have everything. If you are on the island the convenience is hard to beat. Their stuff is priced accordingly so if you have a big job and lots of time, get your stuff elsewhere but if you need anything at all, they have it.
