Great selection of toys, food and bowls. Everyone here is always so nice and extremely helpful. You can even adopt a kitten here. We are the selection that they have is top of the line and it’s all really nice stuff. I definitely prefer this over a Petsmart. Their location is right on the Avenue and you will have to choose street parking. I love this pet store and have been going here for almost 15 years. Highly recommend.

Bought a bandana too small during art fair Sunday. They exchanged it out for bigger size. I have a Bengal kitten . I signed up for their rewards program but they don’t give it to you until after you bought something however, I bought the bandanna and then I bought a poopy a raincoat which was about $50. That ended up being too small. I came back and they wouldn’t order me a bigger one and yet I paid cash yet they wouldn’t refund my cash and gave me a gift card instead.. so was obligated to purchase something I didn’t need & balance is still on gift card. BTW same puppia raincoat $10.00 less online. A store that doesn’t refund your cash purchase & refused to look for a bigger sign for me is not wherd I want to take my business. I do understand however that they’re probably paying about 17,000 a month in rent so they have to pass off that close to the consumer. I am a local not a vacationing snowbird. Hence will get my money back Nickels at a time I’m sure with them and never go back again. Shameful way to do business. 4/1/24 how convenient to turn it around & blame me for purchasing a raincoat that’s for a dog . The salesperson knew it was for Suki as she was with me because original bandana was too small …. Woe , shame on you . Where pray tell did it say for dogs only risk of life threatning wearability ! We all need to pay our bills your rent must be sky high . Do no turn this on me 🐕‍ 🐿️ 🦓🦆🐠🐈‍⬛🐇🦓🐝 Animal rescuer , tnvr , foster pets until they are adopted . SHAME on You

Buyer beware at this establishment. If you buy something and it does not function/operate properly the response is sorry you opened it?!! When you buy something you go home plug it in and expect it to work. Therefore you have to attempt to use it. If it does not function the way it is intended too or is extremely poor quality the customer has the right to return. Extremely disappointed in this privately owned shop. They do not back the products they choose to sell.

I found their cat foods to be surprisingly competitively priced, and even cheaper than online in some instances. The staff is knowledgeable, very friendly, and helpful. It makes supporting this local business a no brainer!

1st experience at Paws and it won't be our last. Very knowledgeable employees! Especially McKayla! Adopted kitten 😸 💕 Rex, "bubba" for a Christmas present to a secret someone. The store has a good selection yet not overwhelming! Nice specialty items which I like.

Really nice store. Staff and owner were exceptional, very kind and helpful. We adopted a kitten that was there from PB County Animal Care. We waited a few days to bring her home so she could get her shots. They were very accommodating and took wonderful care of her. They were very helpful with recommendations for food, etc. Highly recommend them!

I love a locally owned business and this is a great one catering to your beloved four footed family members. This Lake Ave staple turned 20 last year.Paws on the Avenue is for the pet owner who wants to take better care of their pet. They stock higher quality products at lower prices. They carry everything you need from food bowls, bakery treats, collars, harnesses, and toys. They even carry items for pet lovers like greeting cards and tee shirts.A reason to pick this store over the big chain stores is that in addition to products, owner Carolyn Clore also offers services like pet adoption and training classes. She films informational videos so you can be a better pet owner. At this store you can get personalized advice regarding what is best for your pet from a trusted source. They even have a chip scanner so you can bring a lost pet in to have it scanned. I love supporting small businesses like this where you can get real help and advice. Your pet will be happier and healthier and you will be keeping your money in the community.

We love Paws On The Avenue for our Golden Doodle. We have purchased numerous harnesses and leashes. It is Pearl's favorite place to pick out her toys. Her 'racoon ball', the first one picked, is still her favorite

We love this place. They have the nicest employees, an impressive assortment of merchandise including hand-made dog cookies, high-quality food and treats, fun leashes and shirts. We started shopping here when Carolyn first opened. We just bought the hand-made, decorated cookies to celebrate one of our dog's birthday. Both of our dogs loved the cookies (and one dog is picky).

I really love this shop beyond their kindness of the staff. Their knowledge of their products and recommendations are on point. I definitely feel that my cat has lived longer beyond my doctor's expectation, because of the food and nutrition that they have recommended for my cat. My cat almost died and they recommended food for her recovery. My cat wasn't supposed to last 2 months after her surgery, it's been more than 2 years. I cannot say enough about how good this place is and how much they care for their clients. I bring my cat to visit and everyone loves her. They are all animal lovers of all types. And over time they have really become a neighborhood store. They have Kitties 😺 for adoption (so cute). I would always recommend Paws on the Avenue! ♥️Update: I have to say that through environmental emergencies, neighborhood crisis, and pet virus and medical concerns; PotA has been great with discounts, pet food/toy drives, and tax-free purchases! (Not to mention Manufacturer/Brand deals.) They often have pop-up vendor visits... Like no-anesthesia dental care.The staff always alerts me to sales and discounts on items. And correct me on sales when I get it wrong. So that I'm sure to get the best prices;love that they care!So grateful!

As a small business owner I want to support Paws On The Avenue as a local business, but our recent experience has been far from satisfactory. We ordered a couple of products with them that they had to order. We paid in advanced and it took about a month for the products to arrive. When my partner went to pick up the items they mentioned the product pricing had increased and we would have to pay more for what we had already paid in advance. Very odd since we already had paid.Meanwhile online retailers AND the product brand itself was selling these same products for a significant cheaper price.They also have a strict "no money reimbursed" policy which made it challenging to return a product for sizing reasons.Their prices are significantly higher compared to online retailers like Amazon. While I wanted to support a local store over online retailers, the inflated pricing has led me to reconsider.

I bought a leash, it’s not even a month old, it became big and the only thing they say in the store is that I must buy another one because my pet already uses it, my question is how do I know if it is of good or bad quality if I don’t use it?Terrible service, I don’t recommend buying in this store.

I bought open farm food from them and it had bacteria Clostridium perfringens. It gave my dog HGE and she died. I have been in mourning. They must not store their foods well. Open Farm is an expensive brand. If I ever get a dog again, I will prepare her food. Instead of paying a food company to hurt my dog and a store that does not carefully inspect their products. It is heart breaking. More expensive dog food means nothing of you dog gets sick.

I learned of this store while looking for some food I wanted to give my dog (a rottweiler) without having the least idea of what to do. I called them and they asked me to stop by so they could explain better and give me different opinions. I was taken aback by their knowledge and friendliness. But what struck me the most was they just didn't push me to buy based on fears of what I was feeding my dog with, nor talking bad about the products I was using or places I was going to before I stepped inside their store. That's important for most [dog] parents because there's an aggressive competition out there and the way to earn the customer is vicious. I am happy to have found a place that always has the food I need for my dog and that I was advised properly. I just know Eric (the manager) by name but everyone else I've met there has been phenomenally excellent at their job. The store is not close to my house but worth all the travel.

I was looking for a new food for my sensitive cats. They were extremely helpful, and gave me a sample to try to see if my picky cat would eat it. My cats love their new food. Love this place! I highly recommend them.

The store, inventory and staff are great. Return policy isn't great for a small local business trying to gain loyalty, but the checkout process is so. long. they have to go check binders, write my name down, there are so many steps. a one minute thing always turns into ten*edit - i wasn't "dissatisfied with my last visit". I've been living across the street and coming regularly for seven years. every. single. time. the person ringing me up has to go check three different books and binders and rewards programs, turning a one minute checkout into ten. every. time.I'm not upset, i just can't come here if I'm in a hurry.

I’ve been here a few times, the first time was lovely and purchased a few things one of them was not in stock but purchased it anyway… they called a month later and told me the color I wanted wouldn’t come back in stock (completely fine and understandable). When I came back in to get a refund they made it seem like a complete inconvenience. Went in today to buy a new set of toys for my puppy and noticed a friends brand and wanted to send them a photo (the owner of the brand) and was scolded by an employee for taking a photo saying the owners don’t allow it… I could understand if i was coming in to take random photos of everything. I put everything in my arms away and walked out… I really wish I didn’t have the experiences I had because the place is very cute.

Came in while on vacation here. The lady that helped me was very sweet. I was desperate for a new dog food since my dog reacts to so many. She took time to educate me on what many dogs react to and then she told me that she would provide me samples of different foods so that I could have my dog try before buying. She even made sure non of the samples had ingredients my dog has reacted to in the past.

We had the best experience bringing our high-energy pup (not to mention our high energy toddler!) to Paws on the Avenue. The gentleman who helped us made us feel more confident in ourselves and our pup and it is clear that is very knowlegeable and that he cares deeply about the wellbeing of customers and their furry family members.
