I'm definitely not going back to Hartville's. The place just gave off a bad vibe, and the staff was rude. Everything was messy and dirty and smelly Plus, their prices are all over the map – one day it's one price, the next it's something else. That's not legal, you can't just flip-flop prices like that. Everything's gotten too pricey there; containers that were $4.99 are now $13.99. . Ive been thinking about taking action against false advertisingAnd If anyone thinking about suing Hartville's for false advertising, it sounds like you've got a strong reason to. The price inconsistency could definitely be a part of your case.

Oysters are salty fresh and ready for pickup the next day. Texas oysters so they all had some size to them. Last one I cracked had a pearl inside. I highly recommend stopping in this place. If you have a taste for something you don't see just ask I'm sure he will either get it asap or has it in the back!Great staff and very professional!!!

Absolutely amazing local market! If you are in the area do yourself a favor and stop to get some good stuff from Hartzell’s! Wow lucky for those who live around here to have a special gem like this. Where do I begin… fresh homemade everything and we grabbed as much as we could and it was all spectacular!Homemade - Baked Beans, Pulled Pork, Pasta Salad, Blackberry Pie, Cookies, Coleslaw, Sausages, Mahi Mahi Fish Dip, Potato Salad was all just perfect! Honestly doesn’t get better than this!There is so much more we wanted to try but we simply ran out of time as we were only in town for a couple nights.They had fresh baked pies and cookies right out of the oven and fresh cut meats which looked very good and high quality.Too bad we don’t have this place near us but will be something to look forward to the next time we visit the area.

This was our first visit, but I was not sure what to expect. It is small and I drove right past the first time as I didn't notice the sign. (My fault) the only item we have tried so far are the double chocolate chip cookies which are very good and homemade for sure! We will be trying the fresh guacamole and coleslaw next and we purchased a package of cheddar brats. I will update this review then. I believe the selection varies on the day and season for items in store.

The meat and specialty items available are very nice. We love the homemade salsa and the cookies are so soft, they fall apart!! The goods are a little pricey but worth the cost. It's nice to support a long-time, local establishment.

Great pies! Steaks cut to order. Fresh made dips, baked bean, pulled pork and other items. Plus they hold bbqs for fundraisers to help out local organizations. The staff is always willing to help.

I got tired of poor meat quality from grocery stores and found out about Hartzell's So wanted to try in hopes of better quality and it was the best choice. Excellent customer service! We got some ground beef and chicken breasts. The meat was excellent and the price was amazing! We will be returning to try steaks and other things. 100% recommend, this is the first time I've been able to eat chicken in months without crunching down on a small bone or piece of gristle.I will also note that the place was VERY clean.

First time shopping here since moving to the area. Bought smoked mahi spread with jalapenos. OMG it was so good I had to make myself stop eating....need some for tomorrow. Also bought pulled pork.....excellent! Haven't tried the local raw honey I also purchased. Friendly people too!

Must haves, 1" cut ribeye's, 3/4" cut pork chops, apple pie, homemade salsa, and their ground beef. The meat is so tender that you don't even need a steak knife. Love the personal treatment of the staff. This place has become a weekly habit for me.

Meat and other food items are seriously so great but the pricing is high. Almost $6 for the smallest container of guacamole and over $10 for 4 sausages. About broke my heart because it tastes so good. At those prices I won’t be able to support them very often unfortunately.

Well heres my exsperiance, just moved here 2 weeks ago friends told us about this place so we went. Yes they have some good looking stuff. What i dont like is nothing is marked in cooler of meats or in meat counter, ive always heard if you have to ask then you cant affored it and i will not ask. The pies looked good but also not marked but hay what can a pie cost 8 to 10 bucks so i got one OMG 16.OO DOLLORS.Then your costomer sarvice one lady said so good, we were in line at meat counter trying to keep distance going and the Asian girl waited on two people who cut right in, so i gave up the meat and bought my 8 to 10 dollor pie (RIGHT). The young man that waited on us at register obveiously did not want to be there !!!Ill give another rating after i eat the pie and some cheese curds i bought.Ok later the cheese curds were good of course they were packaged.But the pie , im sorry was not a 16.00 pie and not as great as some woman said on here at best, a cocanut cream pie with just a hint of coconut is a 4.00 walmart pie .Just had bacon we bought 2 days latter it was pertty darn good.

Amazing little meat market/grocery. Stopped to find honey and delighted to find homemade jams, jellies butters as well as different honeys. The owner was so welcoming and engaging. It's definitely worth the stop!

The place was cramped, staff friendly helpful, advertising of store a little misleading. I was under impression it was a butcher shop where one might be able to purchase a quarter of beef, pork excetra, the store only had very limited meats. I was told I could purchase specific cuts, but it was limited also.

If you are bummed cause there is no home made bakery in little old lake placid, just swing on over to Hartzell's. The donuts fresh out of the frier are to die for!The guys are awesome friendly and just the southern personable guys at the shop that will make ur day.Donuts again are awesome!

Fresh donuts, fresh baked blueberry pie straight from the oven, awesome smoked jalapeno mahi dip. The pie was not too sweet, amazing flaky crispy crust.
