Great local business! Owners are very friendly and knowledgeable. They also are involved and help rehabilitate pets who have been neglected or abused. They have a beautiful African Grey that was severely neglected, and more recently they took in a prairie dog who is plump and happy! Please consider visiting their store and support your local business over that chain stores.Today I was looking for a small corn snake and found a beauty.

They have plenty of options of pets to own- the animals looks taken care of. There is a parrot in there named"Timmy" he's very funny and talks or whistles at you (not for sale). Yorkies for sale sometimes too in the back of the store before the huge selection of fishes. I love how many choices of animals there are here. My son loves it here, he is autistic and the employees are sweet to us when we come in. Thank you! Even with just visiting they don't seem pushy or demanding you buying something. They give you plenty of space to venture around.

Some employees aren't too friendly, but the store itself has a wide variety of goods for all kinds of critters. Prices are reasonable and comparable to surrounding corporate owned pet stores. I prefer to shop local.

They are so friendly and answer any questions without acting like you are bothering them. They carry thing the other stores don't. If you need something, look there, you most likely will find it.

This place is kinda run down and dirty. The pet selection is limited and unappealing. The day I went in I wasn't even greeted. I was disappointed with my visit.

My experience was okay. Beats my local pet store by far. The girl working was nice. The place was pretty busy being a weekend and she seemed stretched a lil thin. I bought one of my tarantulas here. He's gonna need a lil tlc as he's on the malnourished side but he'll be ok. :)

I moved to lake city after getting out of military and owning a corn snake. I had issues finding a good supplier for feed mice. I found Lake City Pets and Supplies, and they were very friendly and knowledgeable with all my questions. I ended up buying more snakes and more supplies form them. Their expertise in the reptila department blew me away. I love going in there weekly just to look around. Albert and Kristen were absolutely amazing. I couldn’t ask for a better hometown pet store to get all my supplies from and would recommend them to anyone any day. They will always have my business . Thank you so much guys y’all are amazing:):):)

I got a dwarf African water from lake city pets and he lived for 7 years. This place is very clean which ensures their animals live healthy lives and I think that had a big part of my frog living so long because he was so well taken care of at the store.I looked forward to buying another frog from this store.

This place should be shut down. Animals in cages inhumanely small and depressing, birds so stressed they're plucking their feathers out. Please don't support places that treat animals like this.

Where is FWC? This shop is horribly maintained and the animals have mites, are diseased and not well. Smells very strongly of ammonia the minute you walk in. How could they still be in business is beyond me. Shameful and sad.

Absolutely disgusting. The smell of uncleaned cages and urine was so strong that I couldn't wait to cash out and had to leave without making my purchase so I didn't vomit (and I've worked with animals for over a decade and I've smelled some heinous smells). Not that the smell in the store would have changed if I had. Husbandry was bad in every enclosure I saw. So glad I opted to leave rather than spend a single penny to support this train wreck of a store.

I bought my very first bearded dragon in December from Kasey! She was very informative and knowledgeable about these reptiles along with her great customer service skills! I go about twice a week to pick up worms & crickets for him, and every 2 weeks for a small rat for my boyfriends red tail boa. I would always recommend this place to everyone 👍🏻

Locally owned pet store. Unlike Pet Smart or Pet Supermarket you have a lot more critters to choose from and most seem in excellent care and well taken care of. I’ve bought a snake (it was very healthy and use to being handled) from them before and could spend hrs in their store. The owners are very kind and helpful (however the son’s(?) girlfriend(?) only ran into her once, not really sure if she’s employed there, but she how ever came off rude and needs to work on her customer service). The only real con is some of their supplies are little over priced sometimes, but in the end it’s worth it to support a locally owned store that’s other wise a great place. I personally love them, their critters, and the atmosphere of this store and would recommend people to go here.

Since kasey has left it’s gone way downhill. The place is down right disgusting. Smells so strong of urine i wanted to leave. I will be getting my feeders anywhere else from now on. The birds all look sick and the water in the tanks was kinda sketchy too. Used to be a great place to go but now i recommend going elsewhere. Especially if you have any sort of respiratory problems the urine smell will definitely not help.

Best local pet store I've ever been in! Very knowledgeable staff and very friendly atmosphere! The store itself is small, but they fit their selection in quite nicely and the animals are well taken care of and healthy. The staff is quick to help you make selections and inform you on any animal and it's needs. Everyone is willing to hear out the problems you may have with existing pets as well, and will recommend to you anything that will help, even if it doesn't result in a sale. These people genuinely care about the animals and how happy you'll be with your pet, as well as the happiness of the animals themselves! Really great mom and pop store.

I have been going to them for YEARS and will always go to them! Everyone has always been so sweet and funny. They love the animals they sell and give advice or opinions when asked for help. They have whatever you could want or need. Honestly I just really think it's a good pet store and the owners and employees are sweet and good people.

Walked in to dirty enclosures and animals that shouldn't be together are. The puppies are aggressively fighting with gate enclosure on their feet. The African Grey they had was so stressed that he was pulling his feathers out. On top if the fact that he isn't even for sale if someone wanted to take him out if that environment. The hamsters were over crowded in the tiny cages. They had ball Pythons in the same tank when they shouldn't be. Over all this whole place obviously doesn't care about the health and wellness of there animals. If I could give 0 stars I would. I have worked in a little mom and pop pet store and would have been chewed out by my boss if he saw our animals like this.

👍👍 The Owner specifically ordered some wonderful lily pods that my wife and I can’t wait to seem bloom, not to mention the thousand other things they do, like really good dog ropes my Stanford Shier Terriers can hang from without costing me 20,30 $$crazy chain store prices. 7$ 9$ same ropes I was laying 45$ being a compulsive purchaser.Very good people that go above beyond explaining things that I should have googled firstI posted this months ago and was just adding some pictures of the koi and the lily pads

They have been in the area for a long time, and there's a good reason for that. With all the corporate, chain, pet stores, popping up, in Lake City, I will choose Lake City Pets, every time. Quality is important, and that's what you get here. The staff is knowledgeable, and always eager to help,and they carry some of the harder to find pets, at a reasonable price. Love this place.!

Have been going here for over a year for my Maccaw pellets and treats! Beats the "big time stores" not as much hassle and you can find what you need very easily. Workers are very professional and courteous. Shop local and support the community.

I love this store! They're always so nice and helpful. Their pets are all very well taken care of and clean!! I highly recommend this store. I drive an hour JUST to get my supplies from THEM every week.
