We went to choose our rats and the couple was friendly, kind and knowledgeable. They responded quickly when we requested an appointment and helped us choose the right rats for us. Very clean and spacious area for the rats to go outside. We had a great time and came home with 4 rats 😁. We also purchased the starter kit that included a big, spacious cage, two handmade hammocks, dish and a bag of food. The hammocks are so cute! Definitely recommend that you check them out!

Had a great experience here, as we are first time rat owners. We appreciate that they took the time to introduce us to Flea and Fudo before taking them home. They were kind and well informed as they were able to answer all of our questions or doubts. We adopted them a month ago and couldn't be any happier! They are very social, healthy and active boys. You guys are very nice people and very good breeders, very knowledgeable on the caring of these little rodent friends. Flea is teaching the young Fudo how to be around humans and it is amazing! Thanks a lot!! 💕😁😁🐀 🐀 They also sell hammocks on their web site! Super cute and the rats love them!

Pet rats are amazing and so much fun. If you have any interest in owning one as a pet, OC Rat Breeders is the best (and in my opinion the ONLY) place for you to visit. You can tell how passionate they are about the care of their animals. They have an extensive collection of YouTube videos with all kinds of helpful information, and some insight into the different breeds and how to choose the best fit for your family. I saw hundreds of their rats and they all looked to be happy, healthy, and well trained. Its pretty fascinating how much more they understand about the full abilities of your new pet rat. I had no idea they were as intelligent and TRAINABLE as they in fact are. I always thought they were just bigger mice. I couldn't have been more wrong. Thank you, OC, for showing me the hidden beauty of this very misunderstood amazing little companion.

i recently adopted 2 baby girl roof rats and i love them. they have adjusted to their cage in the 2 weeks i’ve had them and i’m so glad. the breeders were such nice people who you could tell really care about their rats! i definitely recommend these breeders.

I recently got my 2 male rats, Fettuccine and Alfredo. OC Dumbos are so professional and passionate about their rat babies. It shows by just the temperament of the rats, how healthy they are and the environment their rats are kept in. They respond quickly to your questions and emails. They send you cute little story emails about the new born litters which is really creative and fun. It keeps you excited about the potential litters you'll be choosing from. They also sell hammocks and pouches, HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend to get both. The rat babies love to be in the pouches and its a great way to bond with your ratties safely. Another plus, the hammocks and pouches are cute, soft, good quality and inexpensive! Fettuccine and Alfredo are such great additions to my family, they are very cuddly babies and just love my attention. I'm telling you, don't sleep on this breeder! They are truly the best!

I was able to have the pleasure to adopt Muppet the roof rat today! Not only is she an amazingly socialized rat, but the owners were able to educate me further on her specific breed, not only did they do that, but they allowed me to bring my rat to make sure him and muppet got along! Now that she’s home, she is still adjusting and it’s usual for rats to be a little shy in new environments but she has stayed on my shoulder and does not attempt to run away. By far one of the best breeders I have ever seen! Most definitely recommend!

I highly recommend this rat breeder!They answered all of my emails right away! They also were able to sell me a rat very quickly after my reservation was made.I got two hammocks and a pouch when I picked up my rats. They LOVE them.Not even two hours after I got home with them, I found them both, curled up in one of the hammocks. The new one is still a little shy, however she and my other rat are getting along fantastically!I would give this breeder more than five stars if I could!The breeders were very nice and extremely helpful. Also very professional.To anyone looking to buy from them, you definitely should 😉

We got 2 female baby rats (Tater and Tot) from OC Dumbos and the whole process was not only very easy, but very professional. The rats are very clearly cared well for and very cute! Our 2 babies are very healthy and active! We were also able to get good beginner food and little hammock beds for them which are super soft and well made. The girls love them! We definitely recommend OC Dumbos to anyone looking for a great companion.

I love this breeder. She is excellent with communications and customer service. In her home, her rats are kept in a clean, well maintained manner. She clearly loves her animals and is a great breeder. She is also sweet and professional.I have had negative experiences with other breeders, but there is nothing negative to say about this woman and her business. She even followed up with me to ask how my new rat was doing in her new home.Wonderful lady! I will definitely be going back to her in the future.

We originally went there for three males but left with two females. They were such sweeties and we couldn’t resist! The owners were so helpful and recommended bedding and food for them. They also have many cute hammocks and pouches to choose from! The adoption couldn’t have gone better. Their rats also looked healthy and most importantly happy! We can’t wait to set up our babies in their new home!!! This is definitely the place to get your rats from.

I’m SO glad I found OC dumbos!! I rescued a baby “mouse” I found...only my mouse grew up to be a roof rat. 😆 She was so tame & sweet, & rats need friends, so I found OC Dumbos looking for people with roof rat experience. They answered my billion questions gladly, & are very passionate and kind when it comes to their rats. I picked up a friend for my first rat and saw a bunch of happy, healthy rats. Just picked up my babies, Buffy and Ginger, yesterday! They’ve been nothing but sweet and gentle, which is a big difference from more shy pet store rats I’ve adopted in the past. It is so worth it to adopt from responsible breeders like OC Dumbos, because your rats will be so loved and socialized before you even get them :) Also the pouch I got from them is amazing!

I adopted a roof rat from OC Rat Breeders. My rats name is Bandito and he is so sweet. He has so much personality and is very well adjusted to being handled by humans. The owners of OC are very through and care deeply about their rats. They are always willing to share tips and advice. I would adopt from them again in a heart beat! While there I also picked up some hammocks for my rat and they are very well made and Bandito really likes to sleep and hangout inside of them. 5/5 stars!! If you want pet rats, OC is the only way to go.

I adopted two young male roof rats. Very nice breeders who clearly love what they do and take good personal care of all of their rats. Only tiny complaint is how fearful the rats can be to pretty much any sudden sound or movement. If that’s something you can tolerate or overcome in a pet, I would highly recommend these cute fur babies!

Brian was very friendly, and incredibly helpful. All of his rats are well kept, and most don't seem to mind being handled by total strangers! When I went to him asking if I could adopt my first rats as Emotional Support Animals, he immediately asked me about what kind of rats I wanted to have, and got me the soonest invitation to a litter he could. He doesn't charge huge fees, just enough to cover care and food, and even let me swing by on Christmas Eve to pick up my babies! I love my new little guys. They're very cuddly, even after having only just met me. Very pleased! Would ABSOLUTELY recommend.

I picked up my two baby Dumbo’s today and couldn’t be happier! Brian was able to let me adopt two males even though my initial request had been for one. I suggest reserving two as these two guys are snuggled up closely and will be together always.I purchased two beautiful hammocks and a bag. Great selection and high quality!Highly recommend adopting from OC Dumbos!

We had always had hand raised regular Norway rats when my children were small. Although those rats were sweet and active, they were messy and chewed anything that got near their cage (including the sleeve of my son's jacket that was hung too close and the carpet on my stairs that was close when the table got pushed over near the stairs) Last fall, we bought a pair of dumbos and were really happy with them What surprised us was how clean the Dumbos are comparatively, how they don't poop or pee while you are holding them and how they don't chew up everything. We bought the little hammock beds and our old rats would have chewed that up quickly. These rats use the hammocks for sleeping and neither destroy them nor poop in them. They use a corner of the cage for a bathroom and are really clean. Their mom taught them well!!

I got my two baby dumbo rex about a month ago now and as a first time rat owner, am so pleasantly happy with their progress. While one is a little more shy, her sister is outgoing and curious and helps her feel out their world. One month and already I have very optimal socialized babies and I know that would not have been possible without the hard work from the breeder before I got them. Thank you so much OCDumbos!

COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL.Sent a reservation for two female adult Dumbo rats at the beginning of May and they were responding to all my questions which I liked and thought was nice. But a few months past and they sent me a message saying that two of the rats I asked for were available and ready for adoption. I sent back a message saying I'd be able to pick them up the following weekend. A few hours later they sent back a message saying that they had forgotten they promised those rats to another person who did NOT make a reservation and weren't on a waiting list. This honestly made me extremely upset since I was already waiting for so long and was expecting to have two new little friends by the end of the week but chose to be as respectful as possible and express my sadness and disappointment towards how unprofessional they were in this review. They then told me that I could set up another reservation for some baby female rats which I said I was fine with until they told me that they would start being available mid-July and others were already on the waiting list further delaying the date in which i would be able to adopt them. Still with no estimated date ever given. At this point I decided to not buy anything from these people as they had already become completely untrustworthy and disrespectful with my time . I'm now ordering from a different breeder who is reliable, didn't make me wait, and says I may come tomorrow to pick some rats out and adopt them.I hope you found this review helpful.

overall I got a pair of healthy rats but they were very nervous and scared of humans for the first month and only started being okay with the presence of humans on month two. around 3/4 of the way through month two they started touching and smelling my hand when offered. I had offered my hand and treats regularly through the two months for the record. they usually jump and run if lightly pet. I'm days away from having them for three months.I feel that they should have been less scared of humans and being handled at this point. I don't think their fright and nervous behavior is necessarily a fault on the breeder's part but I feel that if more contact and socialization with humans happened, the issue would be lessened.overall the breeder was sweet and incredibly quick to respond to emails. they reached out to me a couple times with regarding my preferences/updates which was nice. in the end, I recommend them

When you reserve rat(s) via ocdumbo website, follow up with a call. You need to also give them a down payment, or you'll be put on a wait list, downs receive priority. I reserved rats (totally stoked), nothing prompted me to make a down payment via web. Followed up two months later as was told "you're the guy on standby, possibly have you something in 2-3 weeks".Lucky for me, I found some baby roof rats working. Took them home, hand feeding. Asked ocdumbo for guidance since they specifically deal with roof rats... zero response.Hope others experience are better, I see alot of 5 star, but me, no thank you occrumbos.

They were very helpful during a difficult time and answered so many questions out of the goodness of their hearts, not expecting anything in return. If anyone local to them is looking to adopt, they really do care about their animals and I'm sure would be willing to answer any questions you might have in regards to caring for rats.
