I purchased the most beautiful puppy from this store! I don’t understand the negative reviews here. I had the best experience and received a bag with essential items for my puppy that I didn’t realize I would need at the time. The staff member was very informative and honestly I feel I had the best purchase experience imaginable! I’ve been looking for my pup for about a year now and I finally found him! Pricing was very approachable, especially when comparing to the only other pet store I could find in Jax. I purchased my puppy on Sunday, slightly before closing where there was less traffic. I noticed many people came in to just pet puppies so if you are serious perhaps visit when there’s less foot traffic. I did not realize the puppies are in the back room of the store. I have walked in and out of this store a few times not realizing that all the dogs on the webpage are physically in the store. I feel ownership/management could do a better job at explaining that all puppies are in the store or leave the back door open or replace with a glass door. The only thing stopping me from leaving this most recent visit was the door being open and seeing the puppies. I highly recommend this store!

I feel bad that other customers were not happy with this place service. We probably came in at the right time and bought the right dog for us. We are very happy with the puppy we bought. It was a little pricey bit the joy he brought to our home is priceless. He is now 3 years old and he came out to be a very smart dog. I hope this place will treat their customers the way they treated us the day we came in.

This is Leonardo Eugene the Great of Jacksonville. Aka... Leo. He is the sweetest thing ever. We added him to the family on Feb 17th after I was on the hunt for the perfect pet. I had 0 intention of getting a puppy. In fact, I was content on a bunny. My husband remembered a puppy store in the mall. So in a strange turn of events, on the way to an exotic pet store, I made a split second decision to follow his lead.The ppl who work there instantly welcomed us in, and explained how everything works..we happened to see another customer with 2 pomeranians and I was just so tickled over their sweetness and fluff! That customer left and I was so excited bc I said "I want that one!!" They closed us in a small gate where my husband and I, along with my 5 yo and 2 yo granddaughter and Leo just played..me n the kids sat in the floor and we just... played. A puppy is a huge decision for us. We haven't had pets in years and we needed to be sure we were doing the right thing. They allowed us as much time as we needed and once we fell in love, we spoke to the owner about the price. He was friendly, negotiable, attentive, and engaging. After trading stories and negotiations, we bought our baby pom and brought him home. Our entire family feels blessed to have had such a pleasant experience, and would definately purchase from puppy avenue again. Our Leo is, and always has been in tip top health. We can't imagine life without him. I'm sorry others didn't get the same experience but I felt the need to share mine, because not everyone's is the same. We'll be back at some point to get Leo's companion and add the last and final member to this 6 children 1 pet-baby home... thank you puppy ave!

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. This pet store is constantly having sick puppies for sale . If they tell you they can’t sell you a puppy just yet because they still need health papers it’s because the dog is actually sick. The owner is rude as hell. I’ve heard the way he talks to his employees. I’m surprised he even has staff still working for him. If you buy a dog from here , good luck . 10 out of 10 do NOT recommend.

ask who their dog breeders are and they'll give you names of breeders of the top puppy mill list of America. have you seen the better business bureau reviews? think twice before you purchase a puppy from here.

Every time I have stepped foot into Puppy Ave I am always greeted nicely. No issues with just seeing the puppies. We also gotten our dear Bassett Hound. They worked with us so we were able to bring him home that day. Wonderful people, wonderful place they also do a great job on keeping the place clean.

Puppy avenue sales defective dogs for full price. This is the second time I dealt with them in this exact incident. They feel that this is a good business practice because they make money Off the weakness of the population that fall in love with their Animals. Be fully aware puppy avenue has a D rateing with the better business bureau

If I could give a zero, I would. My partner & I were completely ignored & the employees were rude. I feel bad for the puppies because with employees whose attitudes are like that, I doubt anyone would feel comfortable to go in there & inquire about a puppy. Completely dissapointed.

I bought the most adorable and sweet puppy from this place just 3 days ago. Although the people were nice, the health certificate that was provided to me was inaccurate and did not match the other paperwork provided by them. Mistakes such as the birth date and said he was a female, although all other documents said male and a different birthday. When I pointed this out, they assured me that the paperwork was just wrong and they'll get it updated for me the next day. Next, I took my lil guy to his 1st vet checkup the next morning. Lil man has an ear infection and also giardia too even though I was assured he had already been treated to prevent it. I am quite frustrated by the poor quality of professionalism in this company and am concerned for the other puppies at this point.The general manager did write me a check for the vet bill, however, the discrepancies in the health certificate and the fact that this sweet lil baby is sick, and they didn't even know has my heart broken. Either way. The vet they have "on call" supposedly is the one that made the mistake on the health certificate however, it doesnt look like it's legit and I will be following up with that specific vet to get to the bottom of it all. Just wanted everyone to know my experience. I love my puppy, but I would never recommend buying a puppy from this place. Too many red flags in my opinion. Praying for the other puppies. I hope they aren't all sick.

Came out to the mall after researching puppies to see what which pups we could see in the store. Me, my husband, and my kids. We came into the store and immediately upon entrance the brown hair girl that was sitting at the desk was short with us and very rude. We asked how it worked to see the pups and if we had to look at them on the computer. The girl made a point to say several times to us that we cannot see a puppy unless “you are taking it home today.” Okay, that’s fine. We came there to see a specific puppy so after scrolling on the computer for a minute, we all agreed what pup we wanted to see and asked if we could meet the puppy. Once again, very short and rude was told, “only if you’re taking it home today.”She had already made that clear several times since we walked in. We knew that to be the case. We came out to the mall to see this puppy but with the constant rude comments, and obviously judgement against us thinking we had no intentions to adopt a puppy for some reason, we decided to just leave. It was obvious she did not want us to see the puppy or take the time to show us the puppy.I would understand if it were a group of kids who came in asking to see a dog and maybe treating them as if they had no intentions of adopting but we came in as a normal family just looking for a new member of our family. We will be adopting from the local shelter instead and saving the 2k we had saved for this dog. Will not be returning here and highly advise against going here with customer service made to make potential family’s to these dogs feel so uncomfortable and unwelcome.

The staff are always helpful and looking out for the dogs ensuring their safety! This was our first pup purchase from a store and we were pleasantly surprised by all that is included. The pups are fully vaccinated, you get a free vet check including microchipping, and a pet health guarantee. We named our boy Luca and he has seamlessly fit into our family!

I know some people are against pet shops. I do feel like this place is different. We bought our Cane Corso from here and have been extremely happy. She has a great personality and has been healthy. We love her, she is part of the family. We did get the the AKC lineage and found out that both of our dogs parents were hip, heart and eye tested. I’m almost positive a puppy mill would not have these tests done as they are expensive. Thank You for the family member

I was honestly very skeptical about Puppy Avenue due to the sheer number of puppy mill sellers I've come across when searching for a dog. Yet Puppy Avenue has exceeded all expectations and has given me faith that good pet stores still do exist.My wife and I took home an Aussie puppy a month ago and she has been the healthiest, happiest little dog. Taking her to the vet saw them even state that Puppy Avenue has a reputation for being good and timely with vet records and general health.It's the same price as you would get from a breeder yourself, and its definitely costly, but believe me- it was definitely worth it.

Absolutely HORRIBLE business practice. Our beautiful Shiba Inu puppy we purchased from puppy avenue had a pre-existing eye infection that we were not warned about and made aware of. Although they included a follow up vet appointment free of charge, the vet prescribed the completely wrong medication and then turned us away on a follow up appointment. I reached out with these concerns and talked to manager Alyson and someone else, both of which literally hung up on me and refused to address my concerns. They made it seem like we gave him the eye infection even though clearly I have photos of his crusted up eyes attached (im assuming this is right after they cleaned it too!) The first photo is in puppy avenue during purchase and the second is the day we took him home. They cannot say it was not their fault as the first photo was taken in store. They called me rude (even though I was nothing but professional with no raised voice or cuss words) and told me it was my fault for buying a dog with an infected eye. Who says that?? They literally admit themselves that he was sick and they sold him without a care in the world. All I was looking for was some assistance with this issue and some guidance and no help was provided to me at all. Clearly they do not care in the slightest about their animals or their customers.

This is my favorite pet store. It is ran by a guy that breeds and shows St.banards, so you know he knows what he is doing. Beny the St.banard (his prize winning dog) watches over everything.I got my dog from there 8 years ago and I'm still very satisfied with him.You can easily see they care for all their dogs and only choose the top breeders.The smallest thing seems wrong and they take them off the floor and to the vet.No animal ever goes unnoticed!😁🤗

I purchased two German Shepherd puppies from this location and I couldn't be happier. They are such good boys and they have zero health concerns (had them checked out by my vet). Owner is extremely friendly and helpful and so is the staff. Thank you for my new family members, Puppy Avenue!

Bought 2 dogs from this store, husky and Shiba Inu. We bought the shiba inu and were told he had an underbite but we were reassured by a "salesman" it would cause no issues. As he grew, the upper teeth were piercing the bottom of his mouth causing bleeding and discomfort and needed to have them all removed which cost us $2,000. More than what we paid for the dog. Husky has had neurological issues his whole like and needed abdominal surgeries to have his testicals removed. The owner DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE DOGS HE SELLS!!!! Never buy a dog from here unless you want to spend thousands on medical bills and dogs with nothing but issues. This place needs to be shut down.

Very disappointed 😔 my first time going to puppy avenue two months ago to buy a puppy ,the one I wanted was sold before I got there. I was sad but it was out of my control. Fast forward to Monday I go purchase a beautiful puppy…I asked about his health I was told everything was good. I received his shot records and made an appointment with the doctor they provided with purchase. Yesterday I take him for his first checkup and he have canine virus (Parvovirus)so he have to be treated 3 days straight.. very sad & frustrating being I live in orange park and have to drive 45 minutes there and back because they failed to inform me he was sick. As we was leaving the veterinary clinic I ran into a couple who just purchased a puppy Saturday from ( Puppy Avenue)and she have the same virus so she’s being treated, save your time and feelings.

I would never recommend this place to anyone.Very unprofessional I am very disappointed and mad they ruined my daughter’s birthday surprise party they sold the dog that she wanted to somebody else. I’ve been at the store three times but the dog wasn’t ready so I called on a Saturday to make sure the dog is still there and they told me yes but its not ready yet for pick up and they told me we put your name the first on list soon as it’s ready to pick it up will call you .went to the store to go pick it up and they told me that they have sold it to someone else. Very unprofessional .

We bought our BELOVED 'Verdel' from Puppy Avenue about 3 years ago and cannot express HOW MUCH WE LOVE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!! <3 <3 <3 I never was a 'Dog' person but have fortunately have been BLESSED to become a PROUD Puppy Dad! Verdel has become a member of our family and we just can't thank Doug and the staff at Puppy Avenue for our little Verdel <3 !!!!!!!!!!!!!! 5 STARS OF COURSE!!!!

I wish I would have read the reviews At first but my dad was so excited that they had a Rottweiler mind you we've came to this store more than once and we went to the store and bought everything for the puppy to come home with us. Today we called because we wanted to pick the puppy up and Allison told us to give her a couple days because the she had a cold and she was going to reach out to us. A hour later she text my dad saying the puppy was sold. We don't appreciate being lied to. We are going to put the word out. So nobody else go thru this stress and heartache.
