Got to the store an hour early for the adoption event and was the first in line, filled out an extensive application, and we were then approved— just to find out that several of the kittens on display weren’t even available and were “reserved online” to people who weren’t even there. A massive waste of time and completely unfair to the people who were actually present and ready to adopt. We weren’t the only family disappointed.

Would NOT go back there, bought a set of fish with aquarium and accessories. Followed every rule by the book from setting up a new tank for a new fish. (Not our 1st time to have a fish) Kudos to the staff in the morning that was very friendly and accomodating (forgot her name) BUT unfortunately 3 hours after purchasing the fish we noticed they started to stay at the bottom of the tank and two of them turned side ways but still have burts of energy. We have 4 other fish tanks and have never had these issuss with any other fish. Called them to let them know about what happened. A staff told me that I can exchange my fish within 3 days in a very unwelcoming tone of voice (benefit of the doubt maybe that is just how she talks) . So I went to their store, brought the sick fish i guess the morning staff left already, so this lady while assisting me made me feel like I was dumb in what happened to tge fish, that what I did was intentional and I was a bother to actually return the sick fish. And At the registrar while preparing my stuffs i could see both staffs were whispering and making sarcastic eye movement as a reaction to what happened. This is not our first rodeo in taking care of a fish. But that was my 1st time to purchase a pet at your store, i usually go to pet smart have no experience like this with their fish even customer care is way better at PET SMART. Would not recommend this store to anyone it is not because of the fish, more of how the staff treats their customer.

Nice place with a friendly staff. Some areas are being redone a bit as they're changing their stock. Unfortunately the food I needed was not available and the replacement food that was recommended is being discontinued at their store due to product availability at a steady basis. Overall seemed like a good place though.

Went in on a time crunch & stood at the register for 4 minutes waiting for someone to come to the front. There should always be someone at the front of the store. If staffing is short you should have a bell or some way for customers to notify you they are waiting.

Nice clean well lit place with plenty of helpful sales people if you are in a quandary as to what is right for your pet or want to purchase a pet be it cat 🐱 dog 🐕 bird 🐦 fish 🐟 or more. First I understand why owners spend Billions on pet's as prices for even the most basic toy or treat are very expensive. We bought 2 toys, some chews and treats and spent $35 before you knew it. Parking is ok with a ALDI near by, Target, Michael's, Academy's Sports in the same area. What we really liked was the older pet adoption spot as for $20 you can find your new furry friends.

I entered this location to get some bird seed for my birds George and Gracie. My experience was less than exemplary. Upon entering the store ten feet from the employees behind the register no one greeted us. But perhaps there is no policy to do so.After finding appropriate seed I proceeded to the registers. Two employees were having a conversation—one of whom was seated on the floor playing on her phone and never looked up. The standing employee approached us promptly and only said two things “Do you have your phone number with us?” And the total of the purchase. No bag was offered, no “thank you”, no “have a good day.” Since I find it customary to engage with people I said “thank you” and she did not respond and instead turned back to her seated co-worker to resume their conversation. My wife and I both spent over a decade in retail and couldn’t think of anywhere we had worked where ignoring people and sitting around was standard training. If this is within their policy I truly hope someone with more adept customer service training changes things.I have included the image of the top of my receipt for any manager reading this so they may pull footage if they doubt my experience.I do acknowledge that we were not the only people in the store, so perhaps they did not see us enter to greet us. However, given the experience at checkout I’m leaning towards behavior patterns of not acknowledging customers. I’m not writing to get someone in trouble but this is a definite training opportunity.Other than that the store was well recovered in the areas we saw, shelves were organized and animals appeared in good health.

This is my favorite location! I always make an effort to come to this store for what I need before any other! (Sometimes they don’t carry the specific things for my exotic pets) and I have gotten to know many of the animals who live there until finding forever homes and even purchased one that was there for quite some time. The staff always make the extra effort to care superbly for the animals. With my experience with big chain stores at all others I have been to the animal care has been neglectful at best and abusive at worst. I can confidently say that the employees lovingly care for every animal in this store and your pet will absolutely have been loved during their stay at this pet supermarket!

Had a Great experience today as I gave my dog a his bath. A person came into the store without their personal mask/face covering and their children did not have theirs either! I overhead the conversation the store clerk had with the would-be customer. Leah at the Southside store kindly and respectfully kept the store safe for her health as well as for us the customers that observe the mandatory face coverage in this uncertain time we live in. As for the would-be customer they and their family turned right around and quietly left the store without hostility! Leah did her job above and beyond! Thank you for the safety!

Friendly staff, clean self wash area! $10 to self wash my Aussie isn’t bad! Dryer was great! I loved the treat and folded towels in the bath area, it was a spa moment for my dog! Shampoo and conditioner left my Aussie looking fabulous!

The staff was untrained at the register and with their fish. I had to retie all my fish bags. Fish not properly seperated in tanks per aggression and when buying my feeders I ask for 30 rosies and 20 shrimp, staff just scooped whatever in with it. Didnt mark the bags which made my wait longer at the register while they had to go back to look for codes. Never had these problems at my regular store in orange park location

VERY RACIST EMPLOYEES AT THIS STORE! My African American family came in tonight no one greeted us and no one even offered to help us with our questions. I noticed every white person that walked was greeted with a warm hello and a smile . It was three white ladies working they totally ignored us and helped the white people. IF YOU ARE RACIST THEN YOU SHOULDNT BE WORKING CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Make sure to treat the black customers the same as the white customers!

I walked in to the store hoping to find new fishes for the new fresh water tank I got. Went to the fish aisle and got help from Jenna and I had asked if she had some puffers and unfortunately they didn’t. Jenna was nice enough to give me a lot of information about fresh water puffer fishes and how if I bought one it would not have survived in the fish tank I just bought, instead She pointed me at some fishes that would fit perfectly for the tank and gave me time tips for my fishes to survive longer. Thank you Jenna, you’re the best.

Every employee was extremely helpful! Woman working in aquarium helped me find a new catfish for my tank and gave me all information I need to know! They have an awesome selection of fish decor and are very stocked for other pets too! Very clean store and has an entire dog wash station! Will definitely be back!

I needed cat litter last weekend. The price was a bit high at the Pet Supermarket around the corner from home, but they were all too happy to price match based on cheapest Internet pricing for exact product. A super deal for my "Jelly Bean"! My furball and I thank u 🐱💜.

I never have good experiences in different locations. Usually I find something not right. But at this location I did notice that the fish looked healthy and well cared for. This is the ONLY location I've ever seen do that.

They tried to over charge me for a fish that's wasn't even the correct fish. They lack the knowledge needed to assist me. Fish where in the wrong tank not matching the label.
