a very lovely store. (most of) the staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful and they have a nice selection of products. will definitely be shopping here more. i love how well the employees know proper animal care and will refuse sales to those who clearly have zero understanding of how animals should be raised.

Came in with my wife to get our little girl her first Betta fish, asked one of the workers where they were and she said, in the back. She asked what we were going to put it in, and we said, in a large (over 1 gal.) glass jar, to which she replied, mm-mmm, no. She began to tells us that the fish requires a 5 gallon minimum habitat to reside in. To which I replied, well then how do they survive in the half a quart sized plastic cups from Southeast Asia to here and then sit on the shelf for weeks/ months on end? She said, well, they are alive but they really aren't thriving, if you put a fish in that type of container, it won't last two days. She outright refused to sell us a fish, so we left and went down the street to Petco where we bought a fish and food for $17 and left with one happy little girl. I have ZERO interest in taking an amateur Marine Biology lesson from some little idiot with daddy issues and septum piercing trying tell me how to care for a fish.

Came in to buy a betta fish for our little girl. Associate with an ego the size of Texas refused to sell us one because we were planning to place the fish in a water treated, gallon glass jar, with live plants to munch on and she told us that that was unacceptable and a betta fish requires at minimum 5 gallons and of course we had to buy the equipment at the store. Absolutely absurd, I’m sorry she must’ve flunked vet school but we went 1mile up the road and our little girl got to pick out her favorite fish and we left happy without being ridiculed by any employee. Will never shop/recommend this establishment.

I came to Petsupermarket for a grooming appointment with Nikki (who is the best). She is courteous and very efficient. The other staff I encountered was friendly, the store was clean, and I will continue to patronize this establishment.

This is a great place to wash your dog. They have step up tubs with hot and cold water. Unlimited shampoo and conditioner do it yourself dog wash for $10. Lots of towels and heavy duty dryers too. Update as of Nov 28, 2023. Do it yourself dog wash has increased in price to $14.99.

The staff here on 11/18 before noon were absolutely amazing, The kind girl greeted me right away and helped me find everything I needed. The young guy on shift was very kind as well. Customer service ROCKS! :)

Bought a lil' dwarf hamster there. They were way cooler than the folks down the road at the "other guys" when we got our original family hamster. Hamster lasted past its "warranty" so far and is happy and healthy and doesn't mind being handled, etc.They were helpful and answered questions as I talked to them about the critter I was taking home. (Previous was a hamster, the current a dwarf hamster so I had a few general questions.)

They deserve some business. I like the customer service at this location. They offer to help you to carry heavy items. I think their own brand of dog food is pretty high in quality. This location is worth a visit.

The groomer woman is so nice! I want to say her name is Vicky but don’t hold me to that. She’s the only groomer I have I think and she kills it. From calling a week ahead to being able to reschedule that same week. Not to mention she make my fur baby beautiful!

Important information about returns included in this review. First, let me say I've been shopping at this store for 3 years. Very convenient location and the staff and even the customers are super friendly. It's usually a first stop anytime I'm in Jacksonville. What I learned today was something I've never experienced at any business in any city I travel or reside in — and this $20 cost my business I'm sorry to say it. I had to return a pet garment I took a chance on because the size was on the bubble and they didn't have a bigger one. However, when I went to return it, they said I had to be a rewards member in order to do so. I don't have those accounts anywhere. I asked if I could do an exchange for some pet food or something and the answer was still no. I asked about donating it to the collection box they had going but no receipt option for that. So I am stuck with my purchase unless I trade my personal data even though item was new with tags, undamaged, receipt in hand, and credit card too within 36 hours of purchase. Only issue is that store membership, which you need to be aware of if you shop here. Note: I bought a puppy gate a few weeks ago and was told if it didn't work for my needs I could return it (it worked great!) But no mention of this policy so I thought it prudent to share explicitly. I recommend business does same.

I'm big on customer service. My husband and I walked in and the two ladies behind the counter looked at us but did not greet us. The prices and selections were good. Another woman, I guess was the manager, stopped and asked if she could help while I was shopping. The toy I wanted didn't have a price, so she helped me find the price and asked one of the ladies from before if she could print up a price tag for the display. The lady responded "I think I can" in a way that even the manager had to ask her "What?". I go to check out and as nice as I was with her and said hi, she didn't say hello, ask how was shopping or anything. The only words she said to me was to ask if I had a rewards account and she signed me up. Even at the end when she handed me my receipt, I said "thank you" and her response was "uh huh". I believe her name was Jessica. I will not return to this location. The 2 stars are for the manager and the product.

I can’t get past how horrible it smells in there. It’s like a super-strength moth ball. I bought a soft dog bed from there and I can’t get the stench out even after spraying it with Febreeze leaving it outside to air out for days. I’d love to be able to comment on anything else but I can’t hold my breath long enough to find out.

I love this place for my pet needs. Everybody who works there are extremely pleasant and super helpful. From the first day I tried them out, I really liked what I saw. So much so that I don't go anywhere else for pet supplies. The prices are on par with any other place too.If you ever have a question, the staff seem very knowledgeable and if you do ask something they aren't sure of, they will check for you and not just "wing it". I've been using Pet Supermarket for approximately 4/5 yrs now and would be very sad if they ever left. I've really come to rely on this place.

So I was amazed today at how helpful for the staff is. We have recently adopted a turtle and needed some fish to both clean out our turtle pond and as feeders for the turtle. The store associate was incredibly helpful and very knowledgeable. Here's what's even better. We brought up a problem that we have with our dog and the person who was checking us out suggested a product that they didn't carry. It's nice to know there are people who really care about meeting your need, even if their store can't.

Best pet supply store in Jax! I have a miniature dachshund and a miniature schnauzer and I will only take them here from now on. My miniature schnauzer was overdoing grooming and The grooming here was super nice and very detailed oriented. My miniature dachshund is only 2 months old and I struggle to find things in her size and they had everything I needed. The store employees are knowledgeable and friendly and recommended a good teething bone that my pup cannot get enough of and I really appreciate their chill but polite attitudes every time I come in. I'll be coming here for years for all my pets needs.

Our little 1yr old Tabby LoVeS Stella and Chewy💗. She asks for mackerel by name and they have it there. The staff are always happy and helpful. Pet Supermarket has a buyer rewards program. So the more you buy the more you save. They also have buy 2 get 1 free, and the prices do not go up like other stores will do.
