This Family Dollar is located in Moncrief on the Northside of Jacksonville, Florida and is within walking distance of me. I am always aware of my surroundings when I enter the store and when I leave out. I have lived in this area for 3 years from 2020 to 2023.I have seen this Family Dollar change a lot. The store is cleaner, and people are not sitting in the front of the store next to the entrance of the store, camping out like they are going to stay till the store closes. The refrigerated section is finally fixed, and the choice of food is excellent much in comparison with that of grocery stores.I have seen managers come and go. The latest manager named Paxton seems to be a nice man who knows the importance of order, safety and quality customer service from what I can tell being that I met him just this week as I was Christmas shopping and am still getting to know him as he attempts to bring this store around to what it can be.I have noticed this Family Dollars always has a sign on their register stating "Do not have cash back" if you want to get cash back at checkout. Yesterday, Monday, December 18, 2023, a handwritten sign on the door said, "Do not have cash so don't expect exact change. ".When I made my purchase, I found this to be true. The cashier did not give me any cash back on $22.00 of refrigerated groceries and her customer service was not good.The manager, Paxton, standing at the door to the store welcoming customers into the store did not seem to mind her unkind treatment of me. I attempted to resolve the issue with him before I left the store but did not feel totally satisfied that the customer service would be rectified when I shopped at this store on another day.So now I don't know what to think but maybe it is Christmas and business was wearing Paxton out because he looked so tired. And maybe the young female cashier was just moody. That is what I would like to think.

They always have a hand written sign on the door saying they're closed. Whole crew full of people inside but ALWAYS CLOSED. I understand when they were closed for remodeling, but since then it ALL THE TIME.I think they closed the wrong one when they shut Down the one in the shopping center by harveys because at least they opened.

The music was too loud to hear anything. I find dealing with obscene lyrics while shopping both triggering and offensive. I get everyone likes their music, but I would have liked to be able to hear the cashier and not the n word.

The location is convenient. The cashier that checked me out was very friendly and this was much appreciated. However, the manager and two other employees were doing absolutely nothing other than being on their phones instead of opening up another register to help shorten the line.

There supposed to open at 8 am but they late coming in n then the register doesn’t work because they should have checked that first. Only rich people show up at 8. U open at 8 u sheould be there at 7 am not 8am

Stopped by on 8/14/23 they werent open at 8 a.m as advertised on the front door because a cashier was 5 minutes late. That 5 minutes lasted longer than 20 minutes so i left after 8:30 do better

They close when they want too, the employees always playing around or sitting down in the store. They talk inappropriate and have personal conversions out loud. On top of that employees be smoking weed right by the front door or have friend and family behind the counter. Or sitting by the door in the store.

They Are horrible everyday we come up there they always have something going On they are closing early right now as I type for no reason when they supposed to close at 10 the lady looked at us as customers pulled up and let others out and locked the door when they have more workers then what they use to have now and they still closing early for what ???? I will be calling corporate in the morning

Seems like every time I come here after work they are closed. Door says 10 but that obviously means nothing. 955. Closed. 945 Closed. 935. Yep. Closed. Might as well close the damn store completely

It was not a good experience. The cashier rung up items that did not belong to me the she forgot to put one of my items in the bag. When the manager came she was rude and would not listen to what I had to say. I hate that store. Every time I go in something go wrong and it's not a clean store.

You can't even walk through the store without them thinking you are stealing. They have the new people/employee's follow you around. If it wasn't for the conventions of the store I most definitely would NOT SHOP THERE!

Terribly long lines. Half the inventory isn't on the shelves u have to ask for it at the counter due to excessive stealing. Seems like they never have way I need

They never have the things you need, and they THINK EVERYBODY COME THERE TO STEAL!!! 🙄
